      They clearly don't find the Tenno 100% repulsive because they are willing to ask for (and accept) our aid in situations like an infestation outbreak or aid against the rival faction. A threat like the Sentients starting a new war would probably create more situations like that. I agree with Stallord that eventually we're going to have a full on invasion of the real world by Void corrupted things like Vor. Why is the man in the wall leading us to Ballas and seemingly pulling us out once we get the Paracesis?

      I kinda wanna kill Lotus. Like at this point even if I find out this is largely due to the influence of her Mother, it doesn't change the previous lies she's told and things she kept from us: (The Reservoir on the Moon, our Connection to The Grineer Queens, our Warframes really are constructed from Infested Tissue, How we eradicated the Orokin etc.)
      In the Words of Biggie Smalls:
      *"I'm sick of Niggas lyin', and I'm sick of Bitches hawkin', matter fact, I'm sick of talkin'."*
      Go with God, my fellow Tenno.

    My headcanon for the Man in the Wall is that he/it isn’t actively or deliberately malevolent, but that it’s just intensely curious about the physical universe and has been unable to reach out thanks to Rell’s efforts, and that it’s using the Tenno as a means to experience more. That said, it is pretty spooky, and the possible dialogue from the War Within does make it seem like it’s a bit angry/resentful of a Tenno that tries to control or destroy the Kuva:

      I'm fairly certain that the Man in the Wall IS the Void. We are all trespassers as Vor warned, and our parents were the first to go. Manny was foiled in corrupting us thanks to the Somatic Pods, but now that we're awake he can start back again. However, we've got a new issue; the Sentient have trespassed into the Void too, to get to the Origin system. So now he's "helping" us, in order to empower us with the ability to kill the Sentient... and then he'll turn to us to finish the job.

    Pet theory is Ballas added two and two and got Five. We're in the phase where it's trying to make us feel like the only option is to kill Natah, that she MUST die.
    However if Natah has been using us from the start to keep allies divided and the house weakened for Sentients to burn? Why defy Hunhow? Why protect us if we are nothing more than pawns?
    Theory I have is Margoulis is in the helmet. Natah has the body. Margolis shielded Natah from the Hive Mind her mother represents, allowing natah to form her own directives.
    I feel Wally is less an Ally and more on his own side we happen to be amusing to observe.

      My guess is We are made to defy hunhow Because he sat in stasis at the bottom of the ocean. When he woke up he went straight back to doing what he was gonna do, as it seems he has no contact with the mother. This seems to be out of line with the mothers plans, who evidently wanted to wait for the right moment. Hunhow is still out there, and we know it is possible to kill the giant sentients, so it's interesting how we were used to just stop him doing what he wanted to for the time being.

      @19Crusader91 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

  • @slenderminion2229
    @slenderminion2229 6 ปีที่แล้ว +91

    I'm kinda split on how i feel about the Sentient Mother seemingly being the big bad.
    We had all this build-up for Hunhow, the Sentient Destroyer of Worlds.
    His arrival in the Second Dream was a game changer for everything we knew about the Tenno and the game as a whole,
    according to Alad V he is heralded as "Nightmare of the Orokin" and the boogeyman to the Corpus,
    and he did a pretty good job as a threat to the Cephalon Weave in Octavia's Anthem.
    We are just going to drop all that?

    • @ctavi6654
      @ctavi6654 6 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      I think Hunhow should 100% play a larger part, however as he is one of only three true sentients we know of (Eidolon, Hunhow and the Mother), he is roughly as powerful and large as the threat here. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up defeating Mother, only for Hunhow to have both anticipated this and worked it into a larger scheme. After all, Hunhow attacking the weave (while damn cool) seemed a little out of the blue and also, for something as powerful as him, a bit weak. Hence: I think that was a diversion. I mean, he went from "Pull the Tenno from the void and destroy their hidden hearts" to "Delete their memory sticks". Seems off. Also I still stick by my belief that the Stalker has been posessed by him

      Agreed, they played up Hunhow only to drop him like a comic book writer would in favor of an even bigger, more malevolent threat. I hope the mother's power is merely a manipulative factory while Hunhow lives up to his reputation from the Old War.

    I had such high hopes for Ballas as a perfect warframe villain, very intelligent and thinking five moves ahead while being completely understandable in his motives. For him to end up in that form and acting so desolated, while the sentient mother and Natah become the big baddies is such a waste. I understand that Natah will most likely switch teams once more, sacrificing herself for us, but I was and kinda still am anticipating Ballas revealing his "grand plan" involving all the events with the sentients and the tenno, then attempting to revive Margulis from whatever's left from Natah and Margulis. I can't believe he just let Margulis die without any second thoughts at the time.

      The Tenno didnt remember anything when first reawakening. We had no idea what the sentients were or who Lotus or Margulis are. All we knew was that this mysterious lady woke us up and was helping us. As for the lack of a reaction from the Tenno when its revealed that Lotus is a Sentient, we are still stuck within our Warframes, our true bodies still locked away on Lua. So its pretty difficult to react to something like that without a face or voice. And by the time we can react we've just barely survived an encounter with the Stalker, so its probably not the biggest thing on the Operator's mind at the time.

    lemme jut point out the mega flaw in the "lotus was always evil" shtik we're apparently going with here
    if she was always double crossing us- rather than killing us all when the tenno were weaker and mostly all factions were gone, she waited for the factions to rise in power and give rise to others, she waited for the infested to not only be revitalized but enhanced and she waited for the tenno to obtain weaponry and sentient effective weapons as well as for corpus to replicate and re-engineer sentient tech- i can keep going if you want

    it may seem silly but i think that when ballas was talking abut his perfect death, he may have referred to at the end of the sacrifice. it would connect sith the split in his torso is just a bit above where umbra had the operator stabbed him. now the sentient probably uses some virus or tech to turn ballas half sentient to "save him" or all the more likely test it to see if they could turn living being into sentient puppets. now this could have a interesting quest or special event where the sentients send in a invading part maybe like a scouting part and they start turning the grineer, and corpus, and possibly the infested. leading to the tenno and your operator with umbra destroying them one by one leading to a visit to the tau system and a fight with natah or her mother.
    (EDIT): after reading some comments i also got the idea that we probably wont kill natah, only restore the lotus maybe by saying "dream of not what you are but what you want to be" or something sad like that. if they do though i hope the restored lotus gets new voice lines and such

    My head cannon is that the story of warframe this far (2019) is all about how natah and hunhow played the entire origin system in their 4 step plan.
    1 -destabilized the system ( once awake )
    2 -gaining a false sense of trust and security via creating a threatening red-black herring (natah and the second dream)
    3 -De-void the moon so the reservoirs are more exposed (the second dream is essentially, a big "two birds in one stone" situation)
    4 -kuva sources so they could heal themselves after a mass-invation void jump ( the war within and the implications of the lore found in the plains of eidolon )

    >Fight grandma and hunhow.

    >Lotus tries to fool us by telling she is Margulius

    I think Lotus's intentions were always to create her own personal army out of the only ones who could oppose her, and crushing any nuisances in the process. An army of tenno and sentients. Nothing could stop her. As for the man in the wall, he's definitely an agent of chaos. Though, I think those shadowy visions were just him fucking with us, seeing as he's wearing the helmet and laughing the whole quest, even dancing at the end. Perhaps he is the will of the void itself, perhaps he is just a denezin of it. But it gave the children who did not reject him power over the void. Power to fight the adults who had been driven mad by his influence. But he also seems to care about the tenno, allowing them to keep this power long after they left, And the visions actually helped him. But then he also says that they owe him for saving them in the void, and letting them use the void powers to their advantage as they see fit.

    Imagine putting on Lotus' helmet and we hear "hello, my beautiful child." tears stream down our face as we reach out, but she's not there. "Where are you? What's going on?!" the voice speaks to us again. I am neither one place or the other. Neither one thing or the other. The time will come when you must decide what must be done."
    Then later, imagine Natah's sentient form pinned to the ground. We walk over to her, wearing the Lotus helm. She screams and claws at the ground "NO! NO!" we take off the helm and make her wear it. Her eyes glow as we can see her shape violently mold back into the Lotus. We take the sword out and hold her in our arms. She's bleeding to death. She reaches out to stroke our cheek and smiles. As she tries to mouth a few last words she goes limp.
    Alternatively: We walk over to Natah's form, pinned to the ground. She claws and screams, clinging desperately to life. "NO! NO!" she screams. We look at her weakened form. Regardless of what she's being used for, she is not evil.
    We remove the sword and she crawls up against a wall.
    We walk up to her again. She looks up at us "do it then. That's why you're here, isn't it?" she slumps to the side "get it over with."
    We squat down. "No.."
    "What?" she says. "I said 'no'. The lotus taught me many things. She was the embodiment of compassion. You were stolen and programmed from birth. Even now the voices in your head are trying to control you.
    You take of the helmet and stroke it, pulling out a glowing light that solidifies into an oro and then shatters "goodbye." you put the helmet on Natah and tears come to her when she feels the weight of all she has done. "I'm so sorry.." she shutters. We hug her. "The voices are gone. All of them. It's just... Me. What do I do now?" she asks. We smile and walk away.
    Alternatively: Natah is pinned to the ground. She claws and screams, clinging to life "NO! NO!" we walk over to her. "You may be a monster... But I'm a monster too. " Natah reach out to us silently. Slowly it builds. We fall to our knees and we experience every death we've caused, all at once. The helmet calls to us "wake up..." and we're back, panting on all fours like a dog. Natah reaches out with another attack, her arm flapping helplessly with the attempt. The camera pans behind us and next we see not Natah, not Lotus, but Margulis. "Please, I need help... I'm still alive..." we walk over and pull out the sword. She rises up slowly and put a hand over our shoulder with care. The camera moves behind us again at foot level. There's a wet slice, then Natah's head rolls on the ground. As the camera comes back, her freshly dead body is frozen with both hands attempting to remove the Lotus helm.
    No tears to be shed, we leave.

    I have a hard time believing that Natah just tricked us, she had no reason to help us, hell she had several opportunities to kill us which would've made another attempt to take over our solar system so much easier. And wouldn't it be odd if both Ballas and the Tenno see Margulis in the Lotus? A bit too convenient? I kinda share the assumption that the Lotus might've been a personality formed by Natah and Margulis who struck some kind of deal, becoming one, and that the helmet is part of this puzzle as well. There's this weird effect when Ballas did something and disconnected the helm, but I don't think that the effect he caused disconnected it but rather that the effect was something affecting us because of the disconnect (the Lotus usually being connected to us in some form until that moment).
    Either way, I want my space mom back! :(

    Damn. So shame. My quest i launched accidentally and it's has began from the end when you need hide from Ballas. I thought at first this is it, all quest. But now i see how much interesting have missed.. :-(
    Also, i didn't saw myself as operator. It was glitched and all was from the first person

    It's a good thing my memory is all jacked up. I don't think this was something I was supposed to see being I play on PS4. Oops! But in a few hours I'll forgot I even watched it and when I do finally play I will be surprised. Keep up with the lore videos; this series is probably the only thing that helps me make sense of the story.

    The Man in the Wall acts very much as a Trickster archetype. Shows very little regard of consequences and no true allignment. It instead plays tricks on all and seeks to disrupt any current order. Catalyzing change. Honestly it is quite possible that the man doesn't have an agenda. The motivation of Tricksters can be anywhere from orchestrating something in their favour to just doing stuff for their own amusement.

    I'd wager the Man in the Wall isnt a force of chaos, more so raw curiosity and neutrality. The Sentients want to convert everything, wrecking the balance. The Orokin were the same, so the Man in the Wall used the colony ship as the means to set the playing field back to neutral. Everything is corrupted by the void because it doesnt belong there, but the Tenno were empowered because the Void needed them to enact its purpose.
    The Man in the Wall possibly wants to push the tenno to grow stronger for a greater purpose as well, compelling them towards secrets which will mature them (Rell, Balas and Natah) as well as hone them into the ultimate scale reset. It knows little of the material plane, and as it experiences more though us, it comes to change its approach and allows us to act more in line with our own will. I would wager he is a chaotic-good force with his own way of supporting and watching us. His musings are never malicious, they are if anything, affectionate. "Hey kiddo"

    Afik... steve debunked that this "spirit" isn't man in the wall, but simply "void echo" that awakened with the ending of TWW. With the end of Harrow quest it gained a body.

    I have a feeling Void Daddy/Man in the Wall is to an extent a chaos god in a similar vain as Warhammers universe. Not to the extent as a sentient warp storm hellbent on fuckery but instead a Void Storm hellbent on reclaiming his “property” from Lotus.

    This is one big thing on why I love Warframe. The only game/franchise I can even consider having such in depth lore, as well as mystery, is Halo. I honestly cant stop referring to the classics, because they're just outright better than most games that have recently released, to possibly the upcoming as well.

    I’m about 70% sure the man in the wall is our Tenno’s father from the zaramon. Or what’s left of him post zaramon. As “hey kiddo” is specifically mentioned as something our father use to say in the lore.

    My hope is that we do end up blowing Natah away, not because I don't care about her, but because I care about Ordis more. I want to be able to get rid of the lotus to make room for someone new. I want Ordis to offer his help and for us to embark on a quest to retrieve a body for him to help us and guide us with. To be a tangible figure for help and guidance like the lotus once was. It would make me happiest for Ordis to tell me my life support is low, or that I've done a mission well. To me, he was more caring and a parent to the tenno than the lotus ever was. Even if he's kind of got no choice

    Let me correct some parts in your analysis: Man in the wall is neither good nor bad, “it” does what it finds fun, it’s a creature made completely out of void, if it were chaotic and against the Tenno, it can easy strip our void powers away from us, if it were good, it could easily control its void powers and destroy all sentients, yet it doesn’t, it finds helping us by taunting us and surprising us and giving us challenges, fun.
    The man in the wall only does fun, it does what it enjoys, therefore it is not evil nor good.

    Ballas being enslaved by the sentient while as much as he deserves it is the worst thing that has happened since Lotus become Natah once more, he's the most knowledgeable individual when it comes to warframes and knows all their strengths and weaknesses, in order to truly stand a chance against the new sentient threat we might have to free Ballas from sentient control or make an entirely new warframe...or do both, perhaps Ballas will realize the errors of his ways and sacrifice himself to create one final frame that incorporates aspsects from all his past sins(or we just kill him but that's the boring option).

    How do you draw the conclusion that this place is inside a sentient? Where is that hinted at all?

    • @StallordD
      @StallordD  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Natah says she's returning home to the Sentient Mother at the end of The Sacrifice with Ballas in tow. It would make sens that Ballas would still be there as he's clearly under the watch of Natah now. Additionally, the architecture is very clearly Sentient, and the New War trailer shows the inside of the Mother as being extremely massive.

    If you consider the Tenno being gifted by the void instead of driven mad, and the man in the wall giving us a game changing advantage together, tells you there is a motive behind "the wall". A motive that isn't necessarily chaotic either. As chaotic as the void may seem, it obviously fears the sentience.

      ik responding to 1 month old thread is not nice, but, in corrupted vor's speech (wich is way older than the second dream btw) he says "we cannot blame these creatures, they are lead by false prophet, who knows not the secrets of the void". The false prophet is natah, since she's a sentient, so she can't enter the void, the vor knew it all along, he may be very important in next quest

    I think the man in the wall is similar to loki not the warframe but rather the norse god mischievous and a trickster but I believe that he hates sentients but can only show us stuff through riddles because either A he is being watched by a larger void creature or B just feels like talking in riddles. Let me know what you think.

  • @tritonneptune3834

    When he said "she stole my perfect death" he simply meant that she couldn't even let him die in peace. And no, ballas cannot do tranferance you probably meant continuity but even that's highly unlikly cause it wasn't hinted at that he had any other perfect body to get in, and ballas being ballas he would leave it at the hands of the sentients to move him into another.

    Didnt our tenno got called "kiddo" by our father in the war within quest? Maybe when he lost his mind along with the others he became a being of the void but unlike the tenno they dont have a physical form thats why the man in the wall takes the form of our tenno or operator.

    It would make sense why the man in the wall is an agent of chaos as you said in an earlier video if the void is a combinational timeline than chaos would breed greater uncertainties and lead to more events. Meaning the void gets bigger thanks to chaos.

    If I have to have one headcannon anything at this very moment it's Wallie is playing the devil kind of archetype. More or less what Ole Palps was in Star Wars. In my headcannon it's waaaay less string pulling and a lot more of "hey just so you know you could totally eat that apple to gain knowledge that god has denied you from" in this case playing this "Tempt you with power you've never known" while being the actual holder of said power. Almost like tiny suggestions to trick us into making a deal with him that won't be easy to break. In this scenario it could be like "you could totally win this new war but you will lose everything in doing so ooooor take this power to easily deal with it but you will have to serve my needs in future." That sorta thing. I can very much be waaaaaay off the mark but that is what I think.
