Chris definitely didn’t play the best game compared to the rest, but this was the move that won him the game. So we gotta give him props for that.
I beg to differ. He played the best game with the cards given. Unluckily, his Manu tribe voted him out 3rd but he managed to propel himself back into the game and with the 3 days left while he was in the game, he made a big move each day until the finale.
Chris deserves to win over julie and gavin but if it was with victoria, lauren or devins. Chris will have a hard time to win.
The Innovator also he the producer literally handed him an idol like wtf.
わからないよく they actually didn't.
The Innovator he definitely played the best with the cards he was dealt, but overall game of course there were players with better gameplay.
This is the biggest and riskest move I ever seen, and he won, this will change how the game's played 4 ever. Also, Reme cheering on Chris was so freaking cute b/c they went from hating each other to supporting each other.
Not risky. He HAD to do it or lose likely to Devens in the finals. Good on him for knowing it tho.
After 43 finale we can say for sure this have changed the game
This is the move that Domenick didnt do against Wendell and cost him the game so props to Chris. Took alot of balls.
Omg. I remember him instantly. Poor domenick
Definitely still took some balls to make this move, but it didn’t have that same impact as if dom would have done it because he actually played the entire game and had much more to lose
The difference was Chris has 0 chance against Devens in the F3 and he knew it. Dom probably thought he MIGHT win against Wendell and I can’t fault him for thinking this way, after all he came closer than anyone else to winning without actually winning. If Dom thought Wendell wins 100% of the time in the F3 I think he does the same thing.
Dom made the right move, he just fucked up at FTC. He lost Chelsea's vote at tribal but we didn't get to see it.
This was different Dom and Wendell are close in terms of winning the risk is more real Chris knows the gap between him and Devens is to wide he had no chance to win against him in the final three
1:39 Imagine Eliza’s reaction when Chris gives up immunity & goes against Rick.
nivtheniftynugget that would’ve been epic
The side of her mouth would rip
This season was the Rick Devens show, and then this guy comes out of nowhere to dominate the last two episodes.. ain't over until it's over
Ben: I'm the most controversial winner in the history of Survivor.
Chris: Hold my necklace
Ben is the most producer-assisted winner Chris earned his win
@@jackkolerofax dude
This is what Natalie should have done against Tony.
Thank goodness she didn't because I couldn't handle Natalie winning.
@@jessie8745 Let's be honest, Natalie was damned if she didn't and damned if she did... if she made fire like you said and won, people would trash her as a winner and say that she didn't deserve to win since she was voted out first and shouldn't have come back in the game, if she didn't make fire, which is what actually happened, then people would say that she didn't deserve to win since she didn't take out the biggest threat and make a big, flashy, risky move, so people should just give her a break
@@CJ-xm5kz I agree and I just want to say I love Natalie but I hate the edge twist .
I hate eoe its so unfair to the people that are in the game imagine if nat challenge tony and won that would be 2 eoe winners that barely played the game and came back in the end game to win
@@jessie8745 Yeah same, I really like Nat and I hate the edge twist too
I feel this is what Survivor is all about. Christ made the biggest move at the right time. He either left gracefully to a better competitor or he took the crown. He took the crown! If I were in Rick's position I would have given my vote to Chris.
Natalie should've done this. She had to make herself vulnerable and take down the clear favorite to win the game. The ultimate ballsy sacrifice move to get the OG jury's respect and win it all.
Let's be honest, Natalie was damned if she didn't and damned if she did... if she made fire and won, people would trash her as a winner and say that she didn't deserve to win since she was voted out first and shouldn't have come back in the game, if she didn't make fire, which is what actually happened, then people would say that she didn't deserve to win since she didn't take out the biggest threat and make a big, flashy, risky move, so people should just give her a break
She had slimmer chance either sitting there with Sarah and Michele. If there is Final Two between her and Michele, Michele could be winning it.
The real crazy thing is that if Michelle won that final immunity challenge and beat Tony in the fire making challenge, which she would've taken on, Michelle wins in a landslide. She could easily argue in the FTC that Sarah rode Tony's coattails, Natalie didn't even play, and that she was the true sole survivor by fighting at the bottom for most of the game, winning 3 key immunity challenges when they counted, and making some moderate-to-big moves (i.e. aligning with Nick, making the move against Sophie with Tony, and maintaining good relationships with everyone). All it would've taken was winning that final challenge.
The fucking _stones_ on this man. The absolute testicular fortitude he had to fulfill the prophecy of Domenick Abbate and put his own ass on the line to take out the frontrunner. If he had done anything less than this, I would've been *furious* with a Chris win. But after this? Hats off, dude. Hats off.
For real. Still not sure how I feel about him winning (they should've given him a better edit to make us like him and root for him to come back, and for the other Extinctioners) but respect to this risky but profitable move, Dom would be proud especially since Chris won.
Bet Dom is having PTSD atm 😂😂😂
Ptgpd post traumatic game play disorder
Do might’ve lost the fire making challenge. Plus in the moment I think Dom truly believed that a) he could beat Wendell at final tribal council and b) I think he believed Angela wasn’t much worse at making fire than he was so I don’t think he should be haunted about not taking on Wendell cuz that would’ve most likely resulted in him getting 4th rather than 2nd most likely. I think instead he should be haunted about what he could’ve done differently to sway one single juror to sway their vote to his direction cuz If Domenick won the game by a vote of 6-4 but didn’t take on Wendell in fire. I’m pretty sure he’d still be ecstatic.
Natalie should've taken notes from Chris for season 40.
Maybe she haven't watched this season too bad
@@Kaitochan18 they did watch it they mention it on the show a few times
Wouldn't have helped. She was either going to lose to Tony or to Sara. No way the first person voted off wins the season of all winners.
@@acekai nope she coulda potentially beat sarah if she did this. People like rob and amber made it pretty clear that if she had done this she woulda had their vote. Likely she coulda swung other votes too. This was nats only path to victory and she balked.
@@onebuffalo5402 She was the first person voted off, had the advantage of knowing Extinction better and therefore amassed a lot of coins, just barely got back in the game even with three advantages and a stomach full of peanut butter, acted like a spoiled brat on EOE making more enemies than friends, never survived a single vote without immunity, couldn't or didn't make fire against Tony and most importantly, showed how petty she was in Final tribal.
Forget beating Tony and Sara, it's a miracle she got four votes and all of them were for personal reasons. Literally no one voted for her gameplay. Even if she gained a few more votes because she ousted Tony, the majority did not like her or her gameplay enough to vote for her. It's actually pretty obvious when you watch the jury interviews.
01:02 “Easy decision tonight”
*Chris smiles and thinks “yup, easy decision indeed, thanks for the $1 million”*
When I saw it on TV I was shocked. Big guts by Chris imo.
But Chris knew that if he didn't take the risk and Rick won in this fire challenge thing, he knew that his chances of becoming the soul survivor will be a guarantee zero as the jury will vote Devens.
"Sole" not soul.. 😂
Even if devens didn’t win he would’ve lost to gavin
@@haroldcredo1891 we are not sure about that..
If he did not take the risk he'll just get 2 or 3 votes or worst none because Devens is the clear winner of this season if he reach final tribal council and it's not even close. Chris lacks resume in terms of winning against Devens who did everything
@@jaspervaldosta3022 i totally agree. The only "resume" Chris did aside from the fire making challenge was convincing Lauren to play her idol to guarantee his stay and play his idol the next tribal council.
Two returnees from edge of extinction going at it.
Watching WAW finale and coming here to appreciate Chris Underwood for this great move... Natalie this right here was what u should have done.
Definitely made me respect Chriss win alot more
Giving up a hard earned immunity to prove to people you can make fire faster than someone else? Yeah that’s great gameplay. People like you get swept up by stupid moments.
biggest move that ive ever seen in the history of survivor....great move chris.....watching fan from philippines
I’m still trying to process this whole thing. Still not sure how I feel about an early boot winning the game, but I have to give props to Chris for successfully pulling off a big move after being out of it for so long.
The theme of the game is Outwit, Outlast and Outplay.
Chris was voted out but never gave up but his gameplay made him win. His story arch is very relatable and inspiring.
He would be so dumb to bring Devans to the end. If he took either Gavin or Julie to sit with him the other may lose against Devans. So he played all his cards right at the end and it worked off well.
If this was Big Brother maybe Devans couldve won. If this was American Ninja Warrior then Gavin would've won. But sadly this is survivor.
Somewhere, Domenick Abbate weeps 😭.
Somewhere, Natalie Anderson weeps
@@krypto_9872 she already won in her first season. She chose not to risk her top 3 spot. Same goes to Chrissy and Noura I don't think these 3 are good in fire making
So far, there’s only been 1 person who won final immunity and didn’t give it up and ended up winning the game (Nick). And that was because he was the obvious front runner compared to the other two people. The problem is that if it’s close between two people, the person who ends up making fire just adds something else to their resume, which may put them over the edge. You have to be the clear front runner in order to not give up immunity (like Nick was), but it’s a risk either way of course
@@ernestnoeid2327 natalie lost 2 million though, not just 1, and unlike domenick she was literally like chris underwood because she was at the edge
Chris did every possible thing right in less then 5 days and that’s why he won the game he was thinking on a plan to win the entire time on the edge and built bonds with everyone one the edge
He is one of my favorite winners. Best suited the title Edge of Extinction sole Survivor
The biggest move in Tony Vlachos' game.
What?
Ha ha
This was the best part of the season
to this day one of my favorite moves ever made
I don’t get why so many idols came like right at the end
Is Mayonnaise an Instrument same here, I was surprised by how many idols were played
It was like a farce
Barely any idols were used mid game and early game so naturally they were all starting to be used at the end
Fox Games not really. Its just they were putting back the idols.
Just ask cirie, how it is to be voted off because you dont have an idol.
This season started off so good, and was rlly good until like final 7? Too many idols :(
Rick is the reason there are too many idols.
Zumbudeawndeinternet 864 or production that can be a reason
I think opposite? Its quite a slow start, but picks up after the eric blindside, final 6-5 was blindside after blindside + ANOTHER blindside with this
Kept on Giving Rick Too Many Idols!
Chris does not get enough credit. Played for five days and did more than not only the rest of his cast, but some other Survivor winners who played the full 39 days... or, in one case, 42 days...
Domenick should have done this against Wendell!
Not really- Domenick had a chance to beat Wendell. Chris had no chance at beating Rick. Chris had nothing to loose- Domenick had a lot to loose seeming he lost by only one vote.
@@kangablue7372 NAH STFU!

THANK YOU! IKR?
Me before the fire challenge: Great now he’s going to seem like Eric 2.0

This season avenged for season 16: Micronesia with Erik giving up his immunity to Natalie but going home ‼️🙌🏼
In the modern era of survivor (season 21 and onward), exactly half of the winners were of this underdog type of archetype in their respective season compared to their competitors (Fabio, Sophie, Denise, Cochran, Michelle, Sarah, Ben, Nick, and Chris) they played against, and you could argue even more. That is really a large portion for a social game where strength and flashiness is regarded as a key to win. It just shows how the game is evolving, where now more winners have this type of underdog aura and emerge in the final several days and win themselves to the end. I'm not saying every season is like that (obviously Tony just demolished everyone in Winners at War), but more seasons are becoming like this. It just shows that the type of ideal survivor player is evolving, and Chris is one of those examples.
We really shouldn't be seeing the third boot and the fourth boot battling it out in a non-tiebreaker fire-making challenge.
but we are because it was the edge of extinction and chris used it perfectly
he set the bar so high
Chris needed to make up for not being in the game and with this move, he definitely made up for lost time.
Is Xander about to pull a Chris?
Risky but he paid off! Perfect Chris! Great! 😊
This is the ONLY way anyone can win from the Edge ever again. Your game has to be perfect off the edge (coming in as the second returnee), and you have to ear every single step of the way... actually, OVER "earn" it.
Commenting before winner revealed. COME ON CHRIS
And this was the birth of Devens bitter vote at Jury. Luckily the best player still got the W.
everyone is saying that chris didn't deserve the season... but this move shows that he did. he had to beat everyone on the edge during the return challenge, he won final immunity, and he beat rick devens in fire... how can he not win after successfully doing all of those three things?
He was given an immunity idol by the producers
@@rezoannur2333 u right... my b
Not sure if it's been mentioned but once he gave up immunity wouldn't it be julies decision on who makes fire?
No it don't work like that.
@@eternalsunshine0654 explain please.
I thought the person that had necklace chose 1 person to go to end with them.
Once he handed necklace off shouldn't it been Julie decision?
I'm asking I'm not sure
@@muhammedautobahn214 Julie has said that she don't even want the necklace as you see here and neither is Gavin.Chris kept that power apparently. She can't deny the decision by Chris.
@@muhammedautobahn214 This is what confused me as well. When Chris gave up immunity, couldn't the others just vote him out?? What was stopping them from doing it? How can you give up immunity AND have the power to make a decision that you have ONLY because you won the immunity. It makes no sense. If Chris has no immunity, he has no power. This was a big blunder by production imo or some weird obscure "rule" just to get Chris to win. It shouldn't happen like that at all.
1 person cannot be voted for, the other 3 people vote among themselves. If the vote is tied and deadlocked they go to a fire challenge. The person who cannot be voted for makes the decision of who does the fire challenge. If the person suddenly CAN be voted for, why would they keep the power to decide who goes to the fire challenge.
@@FiveN9ne It wasn’t a blunder by production. Not only did Chris win immunity, but he won the right to decide who is making fire. He gave up immunity, which took away his safety, but he still had the advantage of choosing who goes to fire since he won the last immunity challenge.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel bad for Devens because what he's really going against is not Chris or Gavin but it's the law of survivor that is a being a challenge beast is ultimately a clear disadvantage like we all see in every season so far but still he made it till the 38th day. *Kudos Devens.*
This move really should have been called out as against the rules. He won immunity. He could either keep the necklace and choose who makes fire or he could give up the necklace to a nominated player and let that player choose who makes fire. Giving up his necklace and then choosing himself when he no longer is holding immunity is not allowed.
They didn't call out the rule during Ghost Island so they kinda screwed themselves as they set a precedent
Wrote the same thing under a different comment. This is what confused me as well. When Chris gave up immunity, couldn't the others just vote him out?? What was stopping them from doing it? I keep having this doubt,Since now julie as immunity isnt it her decision now to choose who to save?
No, by winning immunity it became Chris’ decision about who makes fire and who is safe. Even though he gave up immunity, he still won the advantage of deciding who goes to fire
If Gavin won immunity and then did this same move, Everyone would be calling it the most badass move in Survivor history, and without question would make him disserving of the the win, and the full respect of the Survivor viewing community along with it.
Also, Julie had a perfect opportunity to actually make a move that could have won her some votes. If the immunity necklace was now hers, technically it's her choice who goes with her to the end. She could have stood up and said "actually, I choose Chris to go to the end with me, and Gavin, YOU can beat Devens at fire making."
A bit risky sure, cause if Devens wins he still beats them all. But if Gavin won, they would have successfully taken away Chris' greatest move, and Julie maybe even has a chance.
Just yet another instance where all the other finalist got complacent and dropped the ball against Chris.
Julie can't do that u stupid ass.She don't even want that necklace but she can't deny Chris decision per the dumbass rule.
@@eternalsunshine0654 you ain't gotta name call big guy but as to waht you said... Why can't she do that, where in the rules says this? Do you have a link for it?
@@KDotO79 Julie said she asked if she can decline and Jeff clarified no.Same this season for Michele when she definitely wanted to take Tony on fire.
I'm impressed by Chris doing this move since Natalie didn't do it. He went all in.
But the edge twist really sucks.
Some of the winners (Wendell, Nick, Adam, and Danni) voted with the majority to prevent Natalie from winning, even tho they really wished to vote for Michelle. So it would have been 8 votes Tony, 4 votes Michelle, and 4 votes Natalie. Michelle deserved votes. She played well for her style of gameplay.
So tony still wins anyways
@@morgankingsley4992 Stating the obvious...
not the best season, next season is making me doubt everything.
I’m not gonna watch survivor anymore.....
Would have been better if Gavin won. Next year they're probably gonna top in favor of female winner because we have 4 male winners in a row and feminists don't like that.
Mason Lee gavin did almost nothing all season. Victoria was the power player, she knows how to manipulate people’s perspective.
Mason Lee and how many times was gavin lied to or blindsided. The edit was made that way to make him look good. Victoria was the biggest threat because she had a relationship with everyone. Thats why chris wanted her out.
Dencod Raikkonen gavin was only blindsided one with the kelley vote..? But yeah victoria was way better
He knew he would win tho
1:30 you can see the moment Devins knew he was fucked
I don’t know why people saw this as him being risky considering this was a necessary move.
Cause if Devin makes it to final 3, Devis wins via unanimous voting. If anyone else had beat Devin at fire, they would had won the game via unanimous voting.
badass... he played with what the season gave him and knew what he had to do, there are worse winners than this lmao
I think production is running out of ideas. Island of the Idols doesn’t seem like a good concept. It’s basically just ghost island.
ZeTa Yeah, but hey Sandra and Boston Rob is there. If any is gone I’m gone.
Natalie should of done this for Winners at War
Wouldn't have helped. She was either going to lose to Tony or to Sara. No way the first person voted off wins the season of all winners.
@@acekai it definitely would had helped cause she would had taken out the player that took out everyone else.
She had plenty of time at the Edge to make bonds with the jury, she made move from the edge, so beating Tony and taking out the top player would had won her the game.
This is still the smartest and bravest decision ever.
CHRIS BETTER WIN
Didn't work out for Heidi season 44.
If Chris gave the necklace to Julie then Julie should be the one to make the decision who comes to the final three, not Chris.
Don’t really like the fact that Chris won, but this move shows that he was a real ass player, not his fault the season was structured weird
this made me hate chris forever just because of how much i freaking love rick devons but chris deserved it. props to him.
i would absolutely love to see rick play again
Well after cassidy lost in a blowout, this is basically the game winning move now
“Well this is great “😭😭😭🤣
When you are sad but then you realize Devens is coming back for second chance II
Production screwed this season. Thanks for the idols guys, I don’t care if “Rick found them”. Production brought EOE in and screwed everything up. Brought returning players in who had a disadvantage from the start wasting another chance for them to return with a fair go. Firemaking sucks too. Production needs to change I’m sick of it.
I prefer gavin to win it now!
Me to
Mad respect for the move
Lol I think it’s funny that this season is compared to HHH because in this season the 4th place was devens who lost in fire and 4th place in HHH was Devon who also lost in fire
It's obvious whoever won the fire would win the season.
About time this stupid twist backfired on production.
You would think since you have nothing but time on Edge of Extinction that you would be practicing to make fire right?
CaptainTalon448 you would think but you never know I mean let’s say for example reem won and got back in she might not even made it to the final 4 but I agree with all the time on extinction they should’ve been practicing making fire I mean they didn’t who would make it or what would happen but they all should’ve prepared
Have read some comments that Natalie should also took Tony on fire making. But im happy she did not. Natalie is a beast on the edge, but Tony was the player on the game. Im just glad that Natalie came back from the edge but imo she did not deserve the win, especially being voted out first. Being 2nd placer is not bad, especially in all winners season. Loved Nat since Amazing Race.
Wow that was fast thank u
Chris giving up immunity necklace to Julie, does it mean that Julie should have the power now to choose who she likes to bring with her in the final and who she likes to make fire?? But why Chris is still the one who decides here?? Julie should've argue this just to get Chris distracted and maybe just maybe Devens beat Chris in the fire making challenge.
Dats easy. Cos Chris will reject her offer since he gvn her the necklace n she wun b dat stupid to take Devens. So only Gavin left.
We all know that Julie and Gavin wants to make fire to be in the final three. They said it to Probst. We also know that Chris wants to give up his immunity because he wants to make fire and beat Devens so Chris will not want to give his necklace to Devens. Chris wants to give the necklace to either Julie or Gavin. Now what if both Julie and Gavin decline the immunity necklace of Chris and insist that they are ready to make fire against any of the remaining players. Chris will be doom because he won the final immunity challenge.
It's crazy I run this scenario in my head. Maybe I'm just disappointed in Winners at War.
@@magmastorm9335 Julie n Gavin made their speech cos they didnt expect Chris to be giving up his necklace. So from both them accepting instead of rejecting the necklace n being brought into the final 2, shows dat they definitely preferred to hv their guaranteed slots rather than make fire for it.
Well, if all 4 wana make fire, Jeff can easily juz have the 1st 3 to finish into the finals
What if Julie picked Rick to go to the final 3 after she was given the immunity necklace?
Prawit Thainiyom she wasn’t that stupid they all knew if devens made it to the end he would’ve won
This is what Xander should have done to take out Erika
I think Natalie knew she was going to lose the game no matter what, that's why she didn't give up her immunity necklace. The jury was clear not to give the two million dollars to a person coming back from EOE.
At least Natalie got the second place.
nah she could have swung the votes if she herself took Tony out
Natalie straight up didnt have the social game and the risk taking ability that Chris had. Chris’s win not looking so bad now.......
Strangely enough, his move is now the gold standard on how to play the game. He even got a shout out from Boston Rob.
Nah he's still the worst/luckiest winner the show's ever had. He barely even played the actual game.
Still Glad that Rick Lost!
@Kellen Swanson And Your The Type of Person No One Likes!
@Kellen Swanson STFU NOOB!
@Kellen Swanson GTFO!!!!
It's not fair that the players who didn't make the merge are in the jury.
I want to give individual immunity to natalie.... now in reverse
Isn't this flawed? he gave up immunity, which should make Julie the decision maker, as to who makes fire.
Rick played great
King E You are obsessed with him
A.J Deets no u
watching replay, hoping rick wins. lol
devens was very salty when he got voted out.
I hope Gavin win this season!
1:50 But once Julie has possession of the Immunity Necklace, she has the sole choice of deciding which two people will compete in Fire Making, and which person will automatically advance with her. Yet, Chris is still acting like it's his decision and not Julie's. I would have liked to see her clarify that Chris vs. Devens fire-making is entirely her choice.
He won it and chose to go up against devens, he had to give up immunity to do that.
This is what Nat should’ve done in Winners at War
Ever since this season everyone expects the winner of the immunity to do a chris underwood move😂😂 and make fire against the best player among the 4
That was fast
Reem and Chris went from oil and water to Reem being Chris' best cheerleader
Why is there no vote?
New rule since s35. The final immunity challenge winner takes one person to the final 3 with them, resulting in the 2 left to face-off in a fire making challenge.
They did it to avert having the "most deserving/strategic player" being voted out at final 4 every time.
Chris and Rob Mariano is most handsome survivor winner
My money's on chris
Sorry Natalie but Chris did it. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Would have been sweet if Julie didn’t accept the necklace
She can't deny it in the written rule.
Fire making challenge ruined final 4
How so?
I remember rooting for Chris so bad solely for his bulge. Lol
Gavin is deserving.
