What's your experience with the new Craftsman cordless tools?

I absolutely love the new craftsman line, both brushed and brushless. It's going to expand as time goes on and I'll be right there to support the line. SBD has done a great job bringing craftsman back and look forward to a bright future

Yep I grew up with Craftsman too, (5:00) and miss the made in the USA tools. Since I'm not a professional mechanic, the Craftsman USA set I built up years ago and have taken care of still are my primary tools. I try to get missing pieces I sill want that were made in the US off of eBay.

I'm probably close to your age. I definitely understand what you mean in the regards to nostalgia. I've always rooted for craftsman. Possibly rooted from growing up seeing my pops use em and some of my first power tools as a young en. Take care bud.
I can appreciate your nostalgia regarding Craftsman. I have a 3 horsepower table saw, with cast iron wings and a stationary belt sander and a corded hand belt sander from Craftsman, but that’s it. The rest of my tools are all Milwaukee, except for a few Dewalt tools.
At this juncture in my life I’m not into throwing good money to bad, no matter what the price. I’d rather invest in a tool that I’m going to feel good about using. For example, I bought a Milwaukee M18 Fuel 7 1/4” Dual Bevel Miter Saw recently. Sure I could’ve bought a Ryobi for $300+ less, however I wanted a precise and accurate saw to do trim work with. Man does it cut nice and feel good to use.
FYI...a couple of months ago I bought a Craftsman 20V Oscillating Tool Kit (1.5 a battery, charger, couple blades and bag) for about $119 at Lowe’s. Even though I’d never used the tool, I just didn’t feel great about it. Like you, I just thought I’d give it a shot. A few weeks later it went down to $99, so I had them refund my $21.20. Then I found an awesome deal on a Dewalt 20V Max XR (Brushless) a couple of weeks ago. It included a charger, 2a battery, depth guide attachment, 4 blades, sanding attachment, about 20 pieces of hook and loop sandpaper, nice plastic box, with a clear lid, to keep the goodies in and a large contractor bag...for $139.00. I ended up getting 3X the tool, plus accessories for $40 more! I think it best sometimes to just shop around, in order to find the best deal...they’re definitely out there!
So I’ll pass on the Craftsman, but I hope it serves you well!
I got both the craftsman drill and impact I got them separately still a good deal had impact for a few months just got the drill few days ago haven't used it yet but I'm impressed with the reviews.....
I bought mine when they released them I got the brushless made in the USA and I use them 5 days a week and they are awsome fyi I drill safes and vaults for a living no wood just steel and metal
I have 2 impacts I have 2 drills (all craftsman) very good tools for a me. I love the video I am going the craftsman

You've been had! I bought the 4 pc set, drill, impact driver, sawzall and LED flashlight at Lowe's for $99.00 last year. And it also comes with a carry bag. No problems after a year of use and impressed how quick the batteries charge, about 20-25 minutes. Nice video.

Jealous then because I just bought that same exact thing yesterday for $225 lol to my defense I just started using tools i and I’m definitely not the handiest guy around so I got ripped off I guess. But all the other brands were so expensive
@@coderc5753 Keep in mind I bought that set 2 years ago and all work like new. I forgot to add the set also included 2 batteries. I don't like shopping but once in a blue moon if I see something I need and the price is right I go get it. I was in Home Depot to buy something but on the way to get it I saw a shop air compressor that was half off. It was probably the 1st time I bought something on a impulse and 20 years later It still works like new!
Technically, he hasnt been " had ". The option of your cost wasn't applicable at the time of his purchase and his purchase is probably the best value at time of his purchase. I've been looking for the deals that have existed but they're just not there anymore. Those who purchased the 4 tool set at a low price just happened to at the right time. Nothing more. Quite frankly the 4 tool sets might as well be a 3 tool set. The light isn't that important and anyways the reciprocating saw ( it is not a SAWZALL 🙄, SAWZALL is actually a name given to a brands version of a reciprocating saw) isn't that much more expensive alone. A 4 tool set is simply marketed in hopes of being an impulsive buy also.

Good review! I needed a drill and impact driver combo kit for home projects. Looked at Makita and Harbor Freight (Hercules and Bauer) both of which have performed well for me. Saw this Craftsman combo kit available at Lowes for $99.00. After seeing your test and another positive one on TH-cam, I purchased this. Let me say that I think you would be hard pressed to find a better value out there. Two good quality tools, 2 batteries, charger, carry bag AND 3 year Craftsman limited warranty for less than 100 bucks? Even building a Harbor Freight Bauer combo with their $20 instant discount for tool/battery/charger purchase (and 90 day limited warranty) is going to cost more.
Can you suggest a good bit kit for it from Lowe's? Thanks
I have the old Craftsman c3 impact driver and impact gun. Bought them both about 4 years ago and they have never let me down and the impact gun has only encountered a handful of bolts it couldn’t handle. I have some sentimental value towards them but when they finally take a crap on me I will buy Milwaukee because I’ve invested in the platform already. At this point they owe me nothing and we’re definitely good purchases.
Trucker88 ......I have the c3 impact wrench and it is a good tool but Sears is now selling it for $169.99 which I think is too much especially when the Ryobi is basically the same impact wrench for a lot less.

Anthony Patterson Actually I may have just lied to you. I owned the original c3 first before the second gen tool and maybe that was $119. But I don’t think I would have paid $169 either way
@@truckerpeterose ....I actually owned both. The first generation I bought in a kit with a 1/2" drill and it was a really good deal for both tools. I later bought the 1/2" impact wrench and I think I got it for $99.00 on sale. I like the impact wrench but I don't think it is worth $169.99. I hope Sears puts it on sale for Black Friday but if not I might have to really look at that Ryobi.

I bought this same set. Perfect for me. Probably not for a skilled tradesman, but for a weekend handyman, they're great. Plus the batteries can be used with a lot of other craftsman tools, and to buy just the batteries is about a hundred bucks

Bought this today. Heard good things
Just picked up this set. However the regular drill stalls from time to time in use. I was putting together a brand new metal shed and has a lot of screws. So as I’m putting it together screwing one screw after another it would stall out. In other words I push the button and nothing would happen I have to click the directional button for it to come back on is this normal? It’s very frustrating trying to put a shed together with a lot of screws and not be able to screw one right after another I don’t think this is normal operation please respond.
Did u adjust the settings on the drill?
Craftsman is owned by Stanley Black And Decker....who owns DeWalt..Stanley..Irwin..Mac Tools...Bostitch....so is doesn't matter what is better... IT'S ALL THE SAME!!!

My 2 amp Dewalt batteries that came with my 20 volt Max / XR Impact Drill Driver and Impact Driver (DCF 886), have the battery gauge built into the batteries.
Porter-Cable with Craftsman Plastics... and that ain't bad for a home gamer..... I used to have the Porter Cable brushed tools 6 or 7 years ago and they're still kicking my brother has them ....when I went to their brushless set and I gave those to my coworker when I moved over to Rigid because Stanley Black & Decker stopped trying to upgrade or promote Porter Cable..... so I jumped ship.. but those aren't bad...👍

I want to root for Craftsman too. I have a gripe with my Lowe’s because the individual employees don’t know their warranty policies. I had the store manager tell me they no longer do warranties for Kobalt. After speaking with Kobalt they had to inform the entire store of the policy. Fortunately Kobalt mailed me a replacement ratchet after about 15 minutes on the phone. Unfortunately Lowe’s is going to take the heat for Sears Craftsman while their trying to establish the Lowe’s Craftsman brand. Hopefully after the kinks are ironed out and Craftsman comes back to USA production we will have a good source of quality tools. On a side note I just broke a Gearwrench 19mm ratcheting wrench and called the 800# and within 2 hours had a tracking # for a replacement. No picture required and no shipping the old tool back. I was surprised how easy it was because I’ve read so much negativity about their warranty.

I have a old old school skill drill. That thing is prob the most Skukum tool I've ever had. But a buddy of mine found a old school skill saw. Its cool

Got this same set from Amazon and 13 months later the drill just stopped working. My last Craftsman drill lasted for years but this junk lasted just over a year! Just saying.........

only 2 and 4 amps for the main power tools. they have a 60v for outdoor power equipment

I have several craftsman tools but they are way before sears sold out and abandon it's faithful users. Those look like brushed tools so that is one strike against them with all the brushless tools there is no reason to buy brushed. I like your videos though.
i have both brushed and brushless. i love both. For the smaller jobs i use the brushed and for the more difficult stuff the brushless. yes these are brushed ones but the new brushless craftsman works great.
Let me save you the trouble. He doesn't test the tools in this video. Don't waste 12mins of your life.
It says plainly in the description and in the video that this is a 2 part video made that way to keep the cry babies happy about the video being too long... but it just brings out a whole new set of cry babies so i really didnt gain anything
