As a part-time contractor I have used my tools weekly for the last 8 months and put them through quite a bit and I've had no issue whatsoever they have all worked great. One thing that's nice too is they're not overly expensive like very well name brand tools.. so if for some reason someone stole them or they walked off it wouldn't kill my pocketbook.
If i can afford to have a tool kit like this, my life would change completely and can live a better life, you are such a lucky person to have all of that.
hey man, this is a very inexpensive tool kit. A few months of saving and I'm sure you would be able to purchase this for yourself. It's roughly 400 CAD on Amazon Canada. That's about 300 USD. Cheers :)
Brother, I never leave reviews, but you killed it. I just bought a 7 piece set from lowes on sale for $249 because of this video. Cheers man I hope you blow up! BTW you should look at doing a post owned/used review. Like after you have owned and used the tools for 6/8 months
I'm a new homeowner, artist, and millwork engineer. I just purchased this set and I was very pleased with the weight, build, and how these tools felt to hold. Thanks for your video. It's nice to see an experienced person's thoughts on them.
I just bought this set for $400 at lowes and they had a deal where you get a 4 ah battery for free with purchase. Thanks for the review, im exited to use the tools!
The craftsman tools are great for the money. I love them for project and stuff around the house. Only reason I got into crafts was bc my job has them and we have so many batteries they give them to us so I had about 5 batteries with no craftsman tools so I figured why not. Overall 8 out of 10 for my needs
Great first look at your kit. I really like the flashlight!! LOL In all seriousness though, I think that is a great value for the DIYer and homeowner/weekend warrior. for half the price of a Dewalt or Milwaukee set, I would say that you cant go wrong. Great job Sam!
Stanley black and decker owns craftsman and dewalt. So you are going to somewhat see the same performance. The 1/4in impacts are identical in specs and looks.
I enjoyed this review. You talk to your audience very calmly unlike many other reviewers who review stuff but make it too "CineMatic" as if their video is scripted. This was more of NATURAL tone review. I like.
I use my drill and impact every day building furniture for a living and I have no complaints. The impact driver my collet gave out easy after the bearings came out of it 🤬 but other than that their great tools. Craftsman is my number 1 go to
I still use them to this day! Have built many projects, home renovations, and more with them. The only thing I wish they had was a kit with the brushless drills in it so they'd be smaller, but from a functionality standpoint they've been great.
I recently switched to Craftsman as well, but decided to go brushless due to the fact that the Craftsman brushed models cannot be repaired. An owner would have to spend roughly $30 for a whole new motor unit. Unlike Craftsman big brother DeWalt that does allow the changing of brushes on theirs.
Great review. Don't think you left anything out. Just this week I have baught the brushless sawzall and drill and impact flashlight multi tool. I up dated and up graded my tools from cheap wallmart hyper tough tools to the craftsman tools. I haven't used them yet but I'm sure there way better than hyper tough. Thanks for sharing.
They look a bit large. I am guessing they are brushed motors in them, no? I don't use tool bags either. Lights are just a throw in tool to increase count, but at least they work on the same battery platform. All the brands do it. Hope you have fun enjoying your new toys.....when Angela lets you use them that is...lol.
I still use these tools to this day and they've been great! Have put them through a lot of heavy projects, too. My only wish was that they offered a brushless drill & impact driver in this set. I'd love to change over to brushless drills.
Hey sam, I bought the same set on black Friday 2 years ago. What's you thoughts now after having them for a few months? I love the set, but my sander took a dive on me last fall. And I've used it maybe a grand total of 8 times. I couldn't believe it. I usually use all corded sanders on my projects.
All of the batteries and chargers are still going perfect. All of the tools in the set are also still operational, but I've upgraded a few to the brushless models since getting these 4 years ago. They have all been worked heavily and not just sat on a shelf. :)
So I bought into the Milwaukee circle of tools and if I was just be getting out in carpentery or woodworking I wouldn’t invest in Milwaukee I think that would be a better option instead of jumping headfirst into the city of Milwaukee tools that I have but I really think it would be more worth it for me if it had a hammer drill instead of the regular drill because you’re gonna be able to do a lot more with the hammer drill instead of a regular drill
They sound like they have a lot of torque when you hit those triggers. It's this or Kobalt 24v, but I'm an around the house guy. I need value for the minimal use these tools will get.
I've been happy with them and still use the tools to this day. Only the drill has a little play in the chuck, but that's because I dropped it off a roof onto gravel. Still works, just a little bit wobbly sometimes. :)
They've done great honestly! The drill is a little wobbly but I dropped it from the roof when we did that project as well as the greenhouse, etc. so not the tool's fault! Batteries are still good and holding their lifecycles and everything else is great. I've wondered about doing a follow up video on them...
You should checkout Stanley v20 tools, they’re literally the exact same mold as these craftsman ones, they’re sold only in Europe and Australia I think
The funniest thing about this video Is that if these tool was painted yellow it would have 100k views Great video bro You need the new brushless circular saw by craftsman it's a beast
The motors are brushed motors. There are 2.0Ah and 4.0Ah batteries available for the v20 system at this time. If interested, all these links (and more) are in the video description. Thanks!
If you got the money always get brushless they tin to last longer I would recommend either the craftsman or ryobi for the diyer homeowner they are cheaper tool lines but built well but if you are going to use and abuse them I get DeWalt or milwaukee
Hey Sam how r u doing? Quick question about craftsman 20v 8 tool combo kit. How are they doing now? Kindly tell me little update. Planning to buy for my Dad. Thank you very much, Teboy
They're all still working great for me. The drill is a little noisy and loose at the chuck, but that only surfaced after dropping it from ladder height. It still works though!
I bought the Craftsman v20 tools for my home projects. I really liked them. However, I can't find the belt clip anywhere. Have you been able to find it?
I've not! Apparently they don't exist anymore. Ugh... Someone should work a deal with a metal fab shop to produce a few thousand of them and sell them online! I'd buy 8 in a heart beat! :)
Max Burns Belt clip! The Dewalt belt clips will work however you’ll need to trim a little plastic away from the tool for the clip to fit. Not a problem
I've not filmed one yet, but use them all the time and still love the tools. My only real complaint is the batteries supplied don't last very long for the bigger tools like the sander and saws. But that's easily fixed by getting some of their larger 4.0 Ah batteries. I do plan to film an update though -- soon!
I really appreciate that, it means a lot! I looked at the DeWalt kit, but it wasn't in the budget this go-around. They're good tools I've heard! Thanks for the kind words and comment!
Samcraft of course man! And yes DeWALT is more spendy but for a contractor a brand like that is needed as you said. For you you’re just doing little projects at a time or not full day use everyday. I will say you may need a few more batteries other then that don’t look bad.
Joe Blow I know what you’re saying but that’s saying Lexus and Toyota have no differences just a logo. Craftsman and DeWALT may be the same “company” but there’s massive differences

I bought the 4 tool kit Craftsman 20V but the saw has a plastic guard , it feel unsafe , I'm unhappy because I put all my money on this tools and it feel like tools for home not for professional
