i have bad social anxiety and i get so nervous and anxious talking to people i'm just scared i'll never be able to get a real job
I have bad social anxiety as well I kept putting off calling them to see if they had jobs open over there (until just now) but i knew eventually I would have to get a job somewhere at some point so I chose the closest thing to me :((
Being a book lover and working at Barnes is incredibly dangerous!! I love it, though!

I worked at Walden books 16 years ago, and I loved it. It was the best job that I ever had. It was very dangerous to work there lol 😂 but I love it

You are so lucky to be able to work at B&N ! I live in France and you can't work in a bookstore without a degree that takes 2 years of studies.
Oh wow!! That's so weird about the degree, but I can't believe you live in France! It's my dream to go there!
@@ahumblebooklover Yeah it sucks, you need a degree for everything here it's quite annoying. I'm doing an internship at my favourite bookstore for 2 week and I am having a BLAST ! France is great but don't be fooled by the image it has, it's not as great as it seems.
I really want to work at B&N, but I’m 17, and I go to school everyday, and I have no retail experience. What should I do??!??!
I would still apply if you really want to work!! You can work as little as a few hours a week, and I had zero retail experience at first either. don’t worry, they will help you become comfortable with everything!
If you really want something, you simply have to go try and get it.

I just had orientation for my B&N today and I start tomorrow. I'm super scared and nervous I'll mess up or something but its all for the sake of books, right? Do you have any tips for me? xx
Don’t be afraid to ask your coworkers where everything is!! You don’t have to memorize where everything is at once. And once you learn everything, it will be a breeze working there! Even now looking back at this video, I’ve made a vast improvement, and it’s alright to make mistakes. Hopefully your managers are there to help you along!
And soon enough there will be even newer people than you who will ask you how to do things!

All my life dreaming to work in a bookstore and this idea kept moving in my head since i am an author and children writer but all these rules of working are very hard to me, i could not handle it and someday i will have my own small bookstore. And this is so fun to buy things you love in a bookstore, if this makes you happy go for it, no problem to reward yourself with something you really love to have. I think we should reward ourselves with things that we love, guilty pleasures ... Yay.

If you really want to work then apply! They should be lenient with your hours! Some people only work a few hours a week!

I would love to work for barnes and Noble but if I do I'm afraid I would work there til I'm old lol. That's how much I love the company and books

Mary Puchis i got the job, and tbh it’s been rough on me. i was a little lost at first as i’d never worked in retail before, and they kinda just threw me on the register. also pushing me so hard to get emails and memberships stresses me out lol. definitely not how i imagined it to be:(

I am a bookseller, which includes customer service and cashier too! Sometimes I even help in the cafe when they are busy

I work at B&N I love my coworkers but that’s the only thing I love the managers fucking grill us about the memberships and give us shit if we don’t do well besides the secret customer we get once a month I’m so over it I’m leaving the job for another job instead yah the job is shit don’t join
well, i am a bartender and guess who now is an alcoholic... haha being addicted to buying BOOKS is a good thing. haha. could be way worse.

Crystal Ramos so with b&n, you experience customers who will belittle you for not knowing something or not having a book. lots of stealing, and you have the membership and books of the month drilled down your throat. other than that it’s a pretty easy ride and it can be nice！

I don't have to read all the books in order to be a huge fan. From age 4 I fell in love with the movies (I was just not into reading at that age), and even now I love them and the books I have read in the series. Please don't shame people for not reading certain books or being a fan of something they love :)
@@ahumblebooklover everyone knows you aren't a real fan unless you've read every book like 30 times, written several reports and done an in person interview with the author smy
It’s fine if the amount of HP books I’ve read really bothers you, but I’d rather read them at my own pace so I can fully appreciate them and give them my full attention. Still, there’s no requirements to be a fan of something.
BN sucks... Best Buy is way better... the people are so bougy and snobby
