When technology takes over learned skills dissipate over time. People used to be able to read maps, add numbers in their head, and even remember phone numbers. Technology makes all these skills unnecessary

It might be the dumbing down of society when computers take over our skills. I like analog paper maps. I don't know if anyone can read them anymore.

I grew up before all of that new fangled technology. I still can read a map, navigate with an actual compass, and memorize phone numbers. I refuse to “embrace” all of that new tech as I don’t want my brain to get lazy.

I lost RDRS when I switched from a SGS to a Fatboy. That's ok though. I am happy. The Fatboy does alright. I have been riding since 1968. So like you I have had short of 20 different rides. Thanks again for another great video.

Been riding for 37 years now and as much as I appreciate the tech on my Indian Roadmaster for the highway I actually prefer the simple straight ahead ride on my Deuce. Couldn't agree more about learning to ride before you get a bike with all the tech aids. Take time to understand what's actually happening and learn to feel the road and the bike.

I would love a Deuce. You are a fortunate man.

This is why I like my 1994 Electra Glide. It has none of those “rider aids”.

My Harley doesn’t have any of the modern technology. Wife’s new Harley has ride modes, ABS with the Brembo brakes.

I won’t own a bike with any of that shit on it, including ABS.
I went down 5 years ago and a still dealing with the aftermath of my injuries which I believe was caused by a malfunctioning ABS.

Relying on a computer is definitely risky sometimes.

@@cc9981 thanks. When I first started riding who thought computers would be a thing.

I think motorcycle aids might hinder professional racers.....new riders need all the help they can get

@HarleyGeezer1954 If we're gonna take traction control for example.....the benefit to 'feeling' when a tyre is gonna let go with a bike leaned over could take me anyway forever.Id rather have the TC incase of a bad road surface. It might save me.VS the idea of me being so good I can ride on the edge of the tyre on the road sliding like crazy.
Or ABS.....how could abs not be better for 99% of riders on the road?On the track it's a different story.Again for top level riders that will be faster with abs off.
If you're the type of rider that wants to be the absolute best motorcycle rider on a track then rider aids will slow those guys down. But on the road they could save our life.
