    Once callback eats up all of the savings on small parts for a long time! Better to use the brass fittings and not have to go back.
    Take care and God Bless.

    The new brass sucks too. My brother in law works for a water company, and they are splitting to. No lead in the brass. Everybody is fighting the new junk.

    Put a clamp on the female end to reinforce the female end to prevent the fitting from cracking.

    Love your videos, did you ever do a video exploring the trade space between pump HP, number of stages, depth of pump, gallons per minute. Also single phase residential vs 3 phase (farm/commercial).

    H2O mechanic I'd be interested in your thoughts on a CSV, Cycle Stop Valve. Maybe you could work it in on a video some time or other. A reply would be okay too. I like your videos!

    With an exposed pressure tank and pipes, how does a person prevent freezing of pipes with an installed system like that? Assuming you are in an area that freezes that is.

    I've been watching all your videos and subscribed .I want to install a pump my static is at 160ft my well is 360ft deep. What size pump do I need I'm 100% off grid I really don't want to run 230v if I can help it .. thanks keep up the good work boss

    • @h2omechanic
      @h2omechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      No solar pump is going to live long dealing with a 160static level. Maybe look Into Bison hand pumps.
      For a 230v system, id set the pump at 300ft, a 3/4 or 1hp 5gpm head. All brass or ss fittings & a HD Steel Well Seal.

    The fitting that you showed with the push connector should be use for sprinklers only not anything with constant pressure. The threaded connector with the glued slip connector is the one I would use of the two that you showed. Totally agree that OEMs are cheaping out on materials, and only using a bare minimum.

    Is there any advantage in using either a 2-wire or 3-wire well pump? In my area it's split 50/50 on what type of pumps the drillers put in. One driller said the reason for the different types of pumps is that in our area there is a fair amount of black sand in the wells and the capacitor start pumps have more torque to break loose if sand gets into the pump. Thoughts?

    • @h2omechanic
      @h2omechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Typically a 3 wore pump is installed on stick pipe & a 2 wire pump is installed on flexible poly pipe.
      The stick pipe takes hours to replace the pump, so having the capacitor out of the pump is 1 less reason to pull it out.
      But your forced to use more expensive wire.
      I only install 2 wire pump bc its just so simple to install & Troubleshooting is way simpler

    Are Vevor brand pumps any good?
    The price is what scares me: they are half to a 3rd the price of the big Franklin electric owned brands

    • @h2omechanic
      @h2omechanic  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are good for the price point, not what I'd install professionally, but a decent pump for people who don't have the money to spend on a quality brand pump. Just my 2cts.

    Question, my capacitor blew on my controller and am waiting to get it replaced. What can cause that? It the pump generally bad when that happens or is it just the capacitor typically

    • @EXTRATERRESTRIAL_MMA

    Things are not being made the same as they were years ago. Would the pump going on and off in the ground not be putting pressure on the 90, then it cracks the fitting. Like the pump in the ground gives a bit of twist coming on.

  • @tommellos6056

    I don't understand your logic. You don't ever use pvc poly adapters. You do not apply dope when it's plastic on plastic (use only teflon), and you sure as hell never use pcv male adapters. You need to go work for a reputable company and gain some wisdom.
