Voice Changer Setup Guide for Xbox and PlayStation

- This video shows you how to use a voice changer for game chat if you are on Xbox, PlayStation, and even PC (at the end of the video).
All you need is a headset with an Aux IN port, and a standard Aux cord. You don't even need a PC if you choose not to.
Here is the equipment I am using for this setup:
-Headest: Turtle Beach 420X Wireless Headphones
-3.5mm Aux Cable (just your standard aux cord)
-USB to 3.5mm Jack Audio Adapter: can be purchased here: www.amazon.com...

It worked great, I couldn't get it to work normally so what I did and it started to work, is to use the headset splitter for PC that came with my headset and switch the output and input (mic and headphones) cord into the opposite port, and it started to work I could hear my self clearly when using mic monitoring, thanks for the awesome tutorial! ♥️

No fr tho ngl seeing that old pc made me want to get one for myself, just to learn how they did it back in the day, with the walls of cards and stuff, or that old machining industry thing where they would slide something down what i think was like film strip on some kind of hole puncher, and if they messed up they would have to redo the entire strip etc i love that old technology...

Funny Fact: The last time it was plugged in, my stepdad said it started to smoke and almost caught on fire. So he cut the power cord and it’s never been used again. I need to get it apart and see what damage has been done to it lol.
@@KingHastings I bet something corroded and its an easy fix, might not be easy getting original parts however would it be possible to downgrade some newer hardware and plug it in? 2000s computers are literally being given away. Either way I hope you do get it running eventually who knows what old documents were typed on it back in the day, if you still got the disks

Hey! Thank you for your comment! I will see what I can do. Basically all I do is click on a voice in the VoiceMod app and it changes the voices for me.

3 years late but will this work with any aux cord or does it have to be a specific one you used in the video and will this work with xbox series x console/ controller with the usb to a 3.5mm jack audio adapter from the pc/laptop????

Can I use a the mic on my headset or does it need to be a separate mic that plugs into pc?
I actually am having trouble. I have a turtle beach wired headset with a detachable mic. I have the aux cord in my mic port and the other end in my computer but I can’t hear audio in the headset and I have hear myself on. The headset is plugged into my controller and no audio am I doing something wrong here?
Hey dude! It sounds like you got everything right so far.. what input do you have in on your Voicemod settings? First thing I can think of is Voicemod isn’t picking up your audio to change the voice.
@@KingHastings Well first I noticed that my aux cord is a 2 ring one for both ends. I don’t know if that effects things. And it only gives me two options for both mic and headset. The computer mic and the headset mic. And the speakers for the computer or headset but I can’t hear myself in my headset if I plug it in my headset works like how it’s supposed to for a second then no sound comes through it anymore and I have it set to hear myself and voice changer is on
Ahh so your headset is connected to your PC? Try connecting the headset to your console. My headset doesn’t connect to my PC except for the aux going into the mic port.
Make sure you have your computers speakers set for Voicemod output. And then connect an aux cord from your PC into the mic port on your headset. You should then hear yourself talking.
@@KingHastings is there a port for the headset on the console? I have a regular Xbox one I found one but I don’t think it is it it says IR OUT
Good question! I looked on my 1X and it doesn’t have an aux out and I don’t think the XBONEs have them either. You may have to connect it to your controller is what I’m reading. Some controllers have the aux on it, others make you need an adapter for the controller. That’s what I’m reading.
My turtlebeach are wireless and I connect it through a USB stick that plugs into my X1
I dont have a unpluggable mic but I have a aux jack in my headset (wireless) how would I do this
Bummer! So you need an input on the headset so you can send sound to the console. Aux is gonna be for sound coming in but only for you to hear.
What’s confusing me is where does your voice audio come from? The microphone in your pc/phone? Confused

So basically any mobile app that is a “live” voice changer should work. You’ll need to make sure the app can change your voice real time. There is an iOS app called “Live Voice Changer - Prankcall” that seems like it would work.
I have not tried to use mobile myself because my iPhone doesn’t have an audio jack anymore. You may need to buy an adapter so you can connect it to the headset. Let me know how that works for you, I’d be interested to hear!

So I have a Xbox headset that is wired, a iPhone 12 and my controller and I download funny voice effects and changer but how do I connect. it’s really hard because of witch cord it is suppose to be
Hey Matt! Okay so I imagine it would go something like this..
Detach the microphone port on your headset and use an aux cord to connect the phones sound out to the microphone port on the headset. (you may need a lightening-to-aux adapter for the phone. I’ll see if I can find one online for you here shortly)
Then connect your headset as normal into your controller.
I have not tried it this way but I imagine as long as you can get your phones audio into the mic port on your headset, it should work.
Here is an adapter that should work. Just know you will have to use the mic built into your iPhone

Hmmm that’s a great question! Do you have all the settings correct?
Also, there is an item I bought on Amazon to help with buzzing noise with a different headset. Maybe give this a try and have it go between the aux cord and your headset!

That is a great question! I don’t think so. You need a legit mic if you are using a PC for the voice changer.
If you’re using a PC for the voice changer, it will go like this:

Its 99 bucks for life time now. I dont know if the a40 is my issue or if I need a 1 pole aux cord but I cant figure out why this didnt work for me. Sound goes to stream but not to xbox, makes zero sense.

Hey Alexander! I would recommend using a mic if you want some quality improvements. My setup uses an XLR microphone (my wife sings live music so I had one on hand) and the way I connect it to my PC is using an XLR-to-USB cable. But keep in mind the VoiceMod app I use has a “Clear” voice that does a great job at making you sound good as well.

How do you get your voice changer voice to be heard on the gaming video your making with also having people in the game hear it to.
So I have sound going from my PC aux cord going into the mic port of my headset. So I basically detach the mic and send PC sound where my voice would normally go.
Then I have a setting called “hear myself” from the voice changer app I use that plays it through the game chat. Not sure exactly why I need to have that on but it works

I have the arctis pro wireless with the box that has a line in & line out port. How would this work? Mic is not detachable, but on the headset I have an aux port.
I'm sorry if you already explained this, but I'm not understanding. How is you're microphone that's connected to your PC able to be in game chat on your Xbox?
Hey Jake!
So they key is to send audio from your computer into the mic port on your headset. Basically we are sending PC audio, via aux, into the input your microphone would be.
Essentially we are using the PC as your Xbox mic. So when you connect your headset to the console, it will send audio to game chat the same way it would if you were talking into your mic.

Hey! Great question. I am not sure you need a Bluetooth headset specifically. I think this would work just fine with a wired headset. The most important part is the detachable mic. 👍🏼 you just need to get sound from the voice changer going through the mic port of tour headset.

Good question!! So I have recommended one down in the comments a long while ago but I would just make sure your voice changer app does “real time” voice changing.
There are lots of apps that take a voice recording then change the voice after but you need one that adjusts your voice real time. 🙂 I’ll see if I can find one

What’s up man! If you can disconnect the mic from the headset and plug an aux cord in there, that’s the way I would do it. I’m not sure if the A50s can do that though

Hey Nick! So unfortunately you need a Microphone Input port then on the headset if you cannot disconnect the mic. Some mics might have them, but sadly that is the only way it can be done via this method in the video. :(

Yes you absolutely can! As long as you can disconnect the mic and plug an aux cord in its place. My headset is a turtle beach (model in the description, but I think my model is discontinued)

So basically it only captures sound that you hear? Cause when I turn off hear me. It doesn't produce any sound on the Xbox know how to get past this?
So unfortunately that’s the only downside that I’ve found. I’ve tested and tested and so far, having “hear me” on is the only way I’ve gotten this method to work. It doesn’t make sense to me, but for some reason that’s all I’ve been able to get to work so far with just this setup in the video.

Right! Only downside to that is you can’t hear the game well unless you have a splitter and have Xbox audio going to another headset. I don’t have the equipment tho for that. 😅

Good question! So what you need to do is plug in an aux cord to the mic port on your headset. Then the other end of the aux goes to your voice changer (whether it’s a phone or the PC)

So you basically need to get voice changer audio to go into the mic port on your headset (that’s why we unplug the mic on the headset and use an aux cord to go to the voice changer)
So it should go like this:
Voice Changer sound -> (using aux cord) -> Mic Port on Headset

If you’re using a phone that’s exactly right! I use a mic and connect it to my PC. Then use a voice changer app on there and have an aux from the PC to the headset. So, kinda different but same concept as you would do with your phone. 🙂

Just be aware that the adapter may require you to use your mic on your phone instead of a mic on your headphones! Not sure if Air Pods would work better or not. But if you are using an app, I don't see why this wouldn't work!

Hey CT - you would need a phone with an aux port or use an adapter that allows you to use an aux cord.
You just connect your phone to your headset via aux.

You said the video is for controller consoles yet you mainly used a pc, release a tutorial on how to actually do it with an x box and a phone…
or use your head, same way but get a voice changer on the phone, doubt you can do it on IOS as they'res no real time voice changers on iPhone. You'll probally need a andriod to do so.

@@Liarson great question! so the aux OUT means sound is going OUT that port and down the wire. aux IN would be the end of the cable where sound is going IN.
so for example in my setup: I have the aux OUT going from the PC ---> down the wire ---> IN to the headset's mic port.

Hey Jack! That is a good point. Since your phone’s mic is omnidirectional, it will most likely pick up background noise and quality will not be as good as an external mic.
But this method can at least get you by until you are able to use an external mic 😀

@@KingHastings doesn't look like the Corsair HS35 will work because of the way the mic port is set up its a Square and will only fit the standard mic you would need one with a circular port
Hey! Yep I did some research on this headset for you and saw someone on Reddit even asked if there was an adapter and nobody has found one yet. But that makes me optimistic that some day they might make one!
