I did use the included liner but is it necessary? Also, I had some substrate left over bc I felt that if I added any more it would go way past the liner. So I have been fruiting for about 6 days now and I still do not see any pin formation, what could be some general reasons as to why I am not seeing any formation yet? Temp is around 75 humidity is good I think had 100% coverage and still nothing, I might be doing something wrong or I’m hoping I’m just being impatient

Yes, I usually only use one bulk recipe per tub. There will be some left over that you can use for another tub but it won't be enough to do two tubs. I usually do 3 pounds of spawn and 3-5 pounds of bulk. I am not sure about rolled oats. Can anyone help me, I’m worried I have trich but I’ve tried tried the q-tip test but have clean q-tips after rubbing the “area”. The “area” is blue not green on the myc. I’m leaning towards bruising from heavy water droplets during misting. Any help would be appreciated.

I discovered the blueing as I had finished my first flush and was picking the fruits. The day after soaking and putting back in the monotype, I discovered even more blueing. Which I would think to associate with temp change, or possible handling. Appreciate the reply and putting my mind at easy! Much love 🙏
You're videos are great. We used to intentionally introduce Trichoderma harzianum at a forestry nursery I once worked at. We would use it on a few million douglas fir seedlings a year because it would combat fusarium and botrytis which are both big issues in styrofoam block seedling monocultures.

Hi! I have found your videos very educational. I am in need of advise: I already loss one mini-monotube, which was my first trying to grow shrooms, to trichoderma (it was placed inside a fruiting chamber) and I don't want to loose another. I have been reading and watching content and I was wondering if I put my mini-minotube with the lid closed (with some air-holes covered with micropore in the box part) inside my fruiting chamber, will that work? My intention is to not expose the mycelium directly to the elements (therefore, to possible contaminants) by keeping the tube closed, but giving it air and humidity through the fruiting chamber, opening the big box to keep air flowing and spraying water, so the closed mini-monotube will recibe both in a indirect way. Does it makes sense? Do you think it can work? Thanks!

Stacking those on shelves or a full room of Martha’s seems to be the way to go. Just wondering, is there a reason for this as well?

I tried a uncle bens rice grain and it was white 1-2 days ago and i looked at it the 3 packs i had and it had turned green it looked completely taken over with a light green! Did i leave it too long? What did i do wrong? I ended up adding the 3 small packs of inoculated white rice 🌾 to my substrate added about 10 sprays of boiled and cooked down water and put elastic band around the top and left it at about 25c. This is day 1 I wonder what it is. Can mycelium be a slight green colour or am i kidding myself lol? Any advice guys? X
I have a layer of black that began to cover my substrate and covered a few mushrooms. It can be scraped off (Burma …in case it may have relevance) the caps with moisture and friction. My guess is that they are spores, but they seem so thick…it should be mentioned that this happened when I was on vacation and I had a sitter watching the grow and they let a few caps stay too long before picking them. Have you ever had spores release so thick that they covered the caps of the other mushrooms? Or do you think this is mold?
I've been growing mushrooms for years and years this year I can't grow anything it's totally infested with trichoderma I don't know what's going on I am so frustrated I could cry. I will get fully colonized grain bag I will get my sterilized substrate and be so careful usually if you have good green spawn it'll take over substrate and stop anything from growing this is ridiculous I get total annihilation of my substrate by trichoderma. I haven't been able to grow anything in three months basically for most of the summer it's like my whole house is infested with it. Am I gonna have to just wait until winter? I have never had to ask anyone for advice on growing mushrooms I've been working in sterile labs my whole life

take your contamanition outside and put it in teh earth under leaves or mix in straw- and they will grow if you got a warm spot during winter- definetly during summer- - i actually made a sizable patch out under an oak tree with a few contaminated jars and even a cased box. outside changes everything where inside its like we hord and live with these molds and icky stuff

You can store a spore print in a cool dark place. You will need to pasteurize the bulk before you use it. You will need to boil 16 cups of water and then pour it in the bucket.
hi, can you take 2-3 mushrooms from one monotub, put it in an empty monotub with the substrate, and wait for the spores to drop. will it then grow again without using the grain bag?

THankyou! I wanted to go a bit big but green mold got me down. Need to make a clean room, cover the carpet, and get an air purifier. I would have success but everything would go down hill quickly when I would try to go big or move to tubs. I did 10+ huge tubs and would never get one to finish. Need to figure this out.

Some people are going to have more problems w contam than others. Most hobbyists work out of a home as opposed to a sterile lab. So if your home was built during the battle of Gettysburg, the house has a lot of biological history.
Hi Ashley If you have a growbag with incipient contamination maybe you could just throw it back into the pressure cooker?? Also.. I put a grow bag out into the hot sun one time and it got pretty hot the next day it was all green completely dry and nothing but green powder... Maybe moderate temperatures would be a good thing to eliminate trichoderma
Hello. I have an important question about contaminance. I can’t understand what happens with mushrooms. We grow Hericium Erinaceus. When the jar is overgrown completely and appear on the surface of the primordia, a lot of liquid begins to be released from their base, it turns yellow or blackens like oil. What could it be!? The liquid flows to the bottom of the jars and after a while there is straight oil. Please help with your thoughts on what it could be. Thank you!
Sounds like you're not getting everything sterile. Make sure you're running at 15 psi. Probably add another 30 minutes on top of that however long you been cooking... hope this helps

Sounds like normal bluing of the mycelium as it's maturing. As you say, maybe as a result of bruising.

I add light once I start to fruit. They will grow towards the light.

I added Arabic. You should be able to go to the setting wheel at the bottom of the video and change the cc to Arabic.

What do you think a sour smell means? Any advice really appreciated it's my first try is there any way I can fix it? What have I done wrong
Do you find cleaning the tub is not safe for future use? Or a lower success rate? BTW patches on tub didint work to keep inflated./.

I'm humidifying hydrogen peroxide 50/50 mixed with water every few days . Crossing my fingers but seems like a great idea so far. Any tips would be appreciated.

THankyou! I wanted to go a bit big but green mold got me down. Need to make a clean room, cover the carpet, and get an air purifier. I would have success but everything would go down hill quickly when I would try to go big or move to tubs. I did 10+ huge tubs and would never get one to finish. Need to figure this out.
Hi Ashley.... Quick question, with a live culture, does part of the culture closer to the culture turn yellow at all? I'd love to see you a pick, but don't know how to do that. Any ideas on the pic? I got trich today in one of two bags, colonised one and didn’t the other and it developed trich :( i am worried if my colonised bag will also develop it 😢🙏 thanks for the info

25% contamination seems pretty high for spawn bags if you're doing things right doesn't it?
Probably less now but definitely was about 25% in the beginning.

If you want to reduce your contams, put your tubs on shelves. Dust and contams are dropping and accumulating on the floor.
I am on my 6th all in one grow bag. And got that nasty wet stuff everytime. I want to quit dont no what i am doing wrong. Any advice for anyone???? Help
It’s your grain spawn or whomever ur buyin ur kit from. Get your next kit from mycolabs or Midwest grow kits

Some people are going to have more problems w contam than others. Most hobbyists work out of a home as opposed to a sterile lab. So if your home was built during the battle of Gettysburg, the house has a lot of biological history.

I put a grow bag out into the hot sun one time and it got pretty hot the next day it was all green completely dry and nothing but green powder... Maybe moderate temperatures would be a good thing to eliminate trichoderma
Hello. I have an important question about contaminance. I can’t understand what happens with mushrooms. We grow Hericium Erinaceus. When the jar is overgrown completely and appear on the surface of the primordia, a lot of liquid begins to be released from their base, it turns yellow or blackens like oil. What could it be!? The liquid flows to the bottom of the jars and after a while there is straight oil. Please help with your thoughts on what it could be. Thank you!
Sounds like you're not getting everything sterile. Make sure you're running at 15 psi. Probably add another 30 minutes on top of that however long you been cooking... hope this helps
Sounds like some kind of bacteria is forming. Also could be stalling because of too high temperature or humidity.
