How can you tell the difference between the 1600 and the 1500? And is that idle speed vw engines run at the speed you have it at? Mine was set really high,I don't have a tach, so I have to set it by ear. Tank for any info you can share
NewClear War , difference can be confirmed with the engine code, bore of cilinders, cilinder heads,'.. idle speed on this engine is a little womply because it has a bigger camshaft. But this is arround you wanna go on a nearly stock motor. With huge cams you will almost never get a nice idle because the higher cam lift. Idle speed needs to be from 750 to max 950 rmp.

I had a 1970 Bug with a 1600 cc engine and noticed the case half studs were larger than the 1500 cc for more clamping force.@@unicron24
