"This year I plan to not be falling over " your videos are great and this is your best line ever... think I'll make that same pledge this year... but I gotta skip that 14 lb loss goal... keep em coming, you inspire and educate at the same time
I also decided to stop falling over LOL....at least at any speed! My solution? A variation of "act your age" Now I Ride my age! aka WAY slower than back when I felt indestructible! Back when I actually healed up fast! How do I know when I start riding too fast? I start scaring myself....lol THAT is the point where take everything back down several notches! NOTHING to prove to ANYONE these days....I won my trophies long ago....lol
I could be wrong but I dont think there is anything wrong with the OEM gas cap on latest generation...Mine was really hard to open at first and I assumed it was a "bad" design and I would have to buy a billet cap....but it has totally broken in to where the cap works flawlessly....I did wipe a tiny amount of 2 stroke oil on the rubber gasket and dribbled a teensy amount into the workings ...it works perfectly I cant find anything wrong with the operation nor any reason to replace it...I understand that earlier generations allowed gunk in the tank because there was no neck .....but the 2019+ has lots of neck....WHY replace it? The ONLY reason I can see is to avoid needing the key....but there are some real jerks so I really LIKE having a locking gas cap so someone cant dump something in my tank while I am in a restaurant or motel room sleeping etc.....I suggest to anyone thinking they have to replace to at least wait a while and see if it breaks in like mine....then? "if it aint broke"? WHY fix it??
Just tried the Acerbis plastoc cap on the Vanasche billet filler, and the Vanasche billet cap on the CJ Designs billet filler. They all seem interchangeble. You have to stay with stock tank venting though. Call up Andrew Vanasche #vanaschemotorsports
Nope. but from time to time, I might get a new product to try out or get a discount when I make another purchase on my next bike. My videos always show the good and the bad aspects of a design. I always pay it forward. You could ask though. Tell Andrew Vanasche that you saw it on my channel, maybe he'll cut you a deal. I'd like to put on his brake lever when I get back from Mexico. Thanks for watching! BTW I have the CJ designs on my 2015, but my acerbis cap is leaking when I fall over.
@@telerover I'm on my 12th modification on my 2018 690. I still have zeros on the odometer. Waiting to get the suspension lowered. i think im going to start making aftermarket parts for ktm and charge out the ass like the rest of them do lol make a killing... all seriousness tho very nice gas cap i just got the 2021 690 smc r and find the stock cap very aggrivating to get off i bent one of my keys trying to unlock the thing the other day luckily it didnt mess the key up but you can see its got a twist in it now lol i found you have to put some downward pressure on the key as you turn and not the cap but this is the one im getting i like that it has the lanyard so you can just let it hang when you unscrew it but dam its so expensive guess its because its a big chunk of billet
I must have got lucky...mine was a little stiff at first but after several hundred miles and several refueling it is quite smooth....I did put a teensy bit of 2 stroke oil on the rubber gasket and in the mechanism...it is plenty smooth and easy now. ...I cant see any reason to replace with a non locking cap...I advise anyone with 2019+ to break in and lube their OEM cap first! See if it works....I am not just being cheap it DOES work great now!
@@jamesdownie2152 So they moved the seat release so as to be secured under locked gas cap? If so that is a good update! One more reason NOT to change the gas OE cap! Who wants to come out of motel and find their $300 seat concepts seat GONE....along with tool roll! Side panels...AND ABS dongle! Even battery and ECU is a sitting duck with seat off! ....not only that with non locking cap an MC hater could dump their soda/cigarette/stale fries etc etc into your gas tank! No THANKS! I am KEEPING my wonderful OEM locking gas cap....that now works fine btw! Was a bit stiff at first now very smooth! (a little two stroke oil on gasket and mechanism seems to have helped....but mostly just needed to be broke in a little.....honestly it is fine! Looks well engineered thinking it will last many years....
190 lbs. I'm stalled at 215 right now. I gave up drinking, no sugars, no processed carbs, mostly organic, etc. I need a diet on top of a diet or something.
@@telerover you just need a little motivation. SO, here's the deal, if you don't make the 190 I'll ride 2019 at the KTM Rally and you can ride the old 2015. How's that for motivation?

Replaced mine for quick fill at track. The stock turn key one is junk. I know what ur saying about locking it, but for me it never left unattended. 🤙🏼
I'm always losing or forgetting keys. I think the billet is a better product
Thanks.
Hey Mike, does the acerbis cap fit the Vanashe filler? If it does, do you know if they sell the aluminum cap separately?

Do you get a kickback when ordering from the link above? Does Vanasche offer any coupon codes?

Will this gas cap fit the 2021 KTM 690 Enduro R?
The design is slightly different with seat release cable is under the gas cap on the 2021 version.

Lots of nice mods for sure but you should really clean up your garage a bit before you brake your neck. :)
I know, right? As the boxes get emptied, I'm getting more room. Deacon keeps getting in the way as well.
