- I tested the Xiaomi 14 Pro Titanium Edition against the Google Pixel 8 Pro for a camera vlog test around Hong Kong (with some shots from Bangkok).

The Xiaomi 14 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 while the Pixel 8 Pro runs on the Tensor G3.
It was a close contest, Xiaomi is really improving on a daily basis

It’s not always the best but it’s always competitive.

I wouldn't say it's just a random comparison. When the Xiaomi 14 Pro will come out in Europe, it will be around the same price range as the Google Pixel 8 Pro. So this comparison makes sense.

@@TedThomasTT Why would Xiaomi be ahead of Google at camera performance? The main sensor is better, but that's all. At ultrawide and telephoto, Google has the better hardware.
Yeah, if pricing is the same as last year though the Xiaomi 14 pro will be quite a bit more expensive. The Xiaomi 13 pro launched at €1,299 in some European countries but €1,399 in others. Who knows though. They might drop the price a little this time to be more competitive

Glad to see that in low light Pixel 8 video stabilization actually works well 💪 I guess for low light pictures I would prefer Xiaomi, but overall Pixel probably is the better choice

how come most youtubers only do camera comparisons of the flagship version of every company. you never see camera comparison between pixel 8 vs pixel 8 pro. or iphone 15 vs iphone 15 pro vs iphone 15 pro max. thats what more people want to see. i think a lot of people already know what company theyre going to get. they want to see how much of a difference there is between getting the flagship or the base model. i hope more people start doing reviews like this. i really want to see pixel 8 vs pixel 8 pro. and also iphone 15 vs iphone 15 pro.
One thing I really like with this Xiaomi is how natural color is. I like it especially for not sharpening everything as Google does.

Your camera comparisons are among the best. So many just keep talking and forget to give some examples or only take pictures of stills. But 80% of the people wanna know how the pics look with people inside. What does it help me to be able to take wonderful mountain shots, when my friends on the pictures have terrible skin tones or are blurry. So thanks again for some great picture samples of these phones. I am actually thinking to get a xiaomi as import, it is cheaper than the pixel (chinese version) and the hardware is just as good. Really great phones...

Xiaomi has improved sensationally in all respects in recent years.
No they are not, after mi 11 ultra, they really didn't made any significant improvement in camera quality. It's just the hardware they are improving

They are still as awful as ever at thermal control on their devices. The 8 Gen3 powered 14 Pro is getting humiliated on heavy task and gaming tests by the 8Gen 2 powered S23 Ultra and the IPhone 15 Pro Max on other TH-cam channels. It is an overheating mess.

Ben may I suggest that you put the phones into airplane mode when testing so that we can see how the pixel does with no data connection?
It shouldn't be taken for granted that mobile data is available or affordable everywhere.
I personally would have zero interest in a phone that needs the cloud to take a good photo

really torn between upgrading my p6p to a Xiaomi or another pixel. I want to try something different but I also like the idea of having support for stuff like moment lens with the pixel.
Really like the color science of the Xiaomi 13 ultra so maybe I'll wait and see what the 14 ultra is like first.
Great comparison video! Love the wide selection of subjects and situations. Only if Google could work on their heating issues and give us a more powerful SOC, it would become a really compelling device.
Your channel is one of the few where I click the like button straight away. Just every review and unboxing and all seem fair and well done. Also about the phones nowadays I guess theres a reason I am keeping my Mi 10 ultra( even about to change the battery at this point) cuz in the last few years I haven't seen any real reason to change it especially for the cameras. 48Mpix 5x zoom is still better than most and the main camera can keep up with all the top dogs still.

Xiaomi 14 pro is beast in night photography even during the day but sometimes it fails I saw a video that the iPhone 15 pro max had good results in night mode photography but in night video the iPhone is better but the xiaomi 14 pro undoubtedly has a better camera.
hopefully you can also test the base Xiaomi 14 vs the Pixel 8 and the Iphone 15
Vivo x100 pro is what I'm looking forward to.. just wish it came in a bit smaller body, like 6.5-6.6" instead of 6.8"

Best time to visit Vivo honestly. I wanted it first before Xiaomi however they were not shipping to Swaziland then. I was still on the Sony xPeria but got my $100 Redmi Note 4A 32GB soon as Swazi Mobile brought them over. I have n't looked back since but that Vivo x100 is fire. Hopefully it has IR Blaster coz i don't want a brick that jut receives calls. Xiaomi opened my eyes to what a phone can do besides just calling. I noticed Xiaomi steals good tech from everywhere which is good for us consumers. Like the screen slider options are from Vivo's 2007/2008 phone. Now they must integrate the S-Pen and i'll stay forever, don't remove IR Blaster.
Nice video Ben! But I believe people are being biased when they see the phone name while watching the comparison. How about make a blind test?
I just cannot stand Google's processing, the photos look so lifeless and boring compared to Xiaomi's. On a technical standpoint, sure, you could make the argument that while capturing the scene, the Pixel's processing is doing an objectively better job - but that's like eating the most bland, nutrient packed processed shake with no flavor over a really nice stake, because it technically is better in terms of it providing sustainability for your body.
While it is all subjective and no opinion is wrong, really, (it's okay to like the Pixel better) life is supposed to be fun, colors, contrast - I can't see myself buying a Pixel and it looks like their processing will never change to reflect that. It'd be nice to have a more fun mode toggle or something.

I hope xiaomi adds 4k30 portrait mode soon. That's the only thing missing on this phone. Usb c 3.2 is now available we can finally connect the phone to the TV.

Pixel Ultra wide more stable while 14 looked bit shaky.... and blurry...

How do you manage the extra phones after testings?
after watching xiaomi 14 pro images, i really wish google would tweak their image processing pipeline. pixel's images are always overprocessed and it just can't keep the shadow area clean.
The thing i noticed on this comparison was Xiaomi Video in lowlights are kinda suffering from EIS in this video i see the EIS effect was noticeable than Pixel but i think at 7:35 ben right it's not meant to be head to head comparison because it vary on country your in to have both of this phone, but to me I'll go to Xiaomi 14 Pro than Pixel 8 Pro because Xiaomi 14 Pro does not have only great camera but the performance of it is stellar. Hope the Hyper OS will be good than MIUI😍🎉

I'm not a fan of that Xiaomi camera bump but I love the camera itself and the titanium orange paint scheme!
One thing that i will say that i know people are going to eat me raw is that xiaomi photos are actually better than pixel's here with these comparisons.
Infact xiaomi is actually there with the likes of Huawei, Samsung and iphone in both photography and video.
