Sorry I don't tweet/etc! Not sure where else to poke you. I've followed you on and off for awhile and LOVE your commitment to user-generated content. Doom 3 never got any "quality" attention and I'm convinced UltraViolence is the first "Doom-like" mod for Doom 3 that actually improves the game. I played it 4 times over, which is rare - I don't usually play the things I make, lol...
I realize it's not exactly a "retro" game and am not asking you for a video feature -- but go ahead and review/tear it apart if you think the mod is good enough and you enjoy it! I have nothing to gain and hope that anyone who stumbles on the mod finds it fun.
Does civvie know about this mod? This seems like something he should know about... and be made to play through.

@@RangeTeaGaming Hi, we're thinking in a future, make a second "episode" but instead following the classic doom style we are thinking to make some kind of hud portal like Quake's Arcane Dimension, and make a continue flow on updates adding new maps to the formula, doing the things as this way we're not forced to work during years to make some new content.
This new maps would be not only focus in a blood/doom/hexen/heretic also we could work for snow themed maps, or spider (web) liar themed maps etc....

Glad to see you finally cover Bloom, excellent video as always. I already asked this in a previous video's comment section, but since you asked for future Mod Madness video suggestions, I'll simply restate my desire to see you play Doom 32x Resurrection since it's an awesome overhaul of the Sega 32x port that adds a bunch of much needed touch ups and QoL feautres. If you need emulator recommendations, it plays well on Kega Fusion, PicoDrive, and Bizhawk.
I couldn't help but laugh at that Sonic 3 sound the laser mouth boss uses.
9:29 oh, a David Fincher's "Se7en" Easter egg! Pretty neat.
The mod got an update and most complaints in the video were actually implemented. Example being in the pits when activating the door that opens the room in front of the mansion, the gate now opens along with it minimizing back tracking.

Been excited for this one for a while after the demo. Now we have a good Blood wad that works
I like the old school loading map.
My favourite part of this mod is actually the between-level map. That's such a rare feature, Doom 1's sense of place was actually substantially better than Doom 2's and one instance where the original was best.
Considering the lower-than-usual volume of Icarus's voice, I can only assume this was recorded during DoomBaby's nap
This mod is pretty cool with only a handful of gameplay problems that I had. But the quitscreen messages in it are really sus...

Could be the telefrag though, the mastermind didn't spawn for me on 3 attempts, either.
Pretty sure it's not a telefrag. If that was the case, end boss would teleport in and frag the arachno romeros. IMHO, it's certainly a scripting bug of some sort.

If there is going to be more to BLOOM, I think they blew their too early from the looks things. Did you fight any of those boss enemies before the final level? cause it looked like a boss rush without introducing the bosses

Atari still owns them. But we are getting a new AITD game, which they own as well, so who knows, maybe we ll get a new Blood game someday.

I tried it 2 times (demo few month ago and now full release) and 2 times i uninstalled it quickly. Didnt like it at all, i felt tired and annoyed after playing it, my head hurt (something like motion sickness). I dont know is this because of newest GZdoom fresh installation (i play many mods on older version and dont have these problems) and combination of movement speed, mouse speed, motion tilt and annoying music, or is it something else, but it was really unpleasant experience. Backtracking is lame, spongy enemies are lame, and fuck these wraiths. Also level with boxes and falling into dark is annoying as fuck, as are these running everywhere civilians and their voiceline.
"Doood" got me good. Sat there laughing for a good 30 seconds.
Same! Well, no, actually, I chuckled once. Inside my head. Which is about the most you can get out of me these days.

now my headcanon for doomguy is that his way of communicating is via reloading/firing various weapons in his arsenal (minus the BFG for... obvious reasons)

The view-sprite for the UAC Tesla Rifle looks like a modified the bayonet rifle from early versions of Doom.
Edit: also the hedge maze in the pit map having a bunch of tech stuff meshed into it is really cool!
That bayonet really is unmistakable
flow of these maps is really impressive, it can get bit confusing at times, especially with backtracking across whole map in some levels, but it would be cool to see such smooth transitions and teleports in some big budget game ...

26:20 - I also feel that doom guy lacks a healing weapon like the Life Leech, which makes fighting bulletsponge enemies a bit of a pain in the ass.
You can tell Icarus Jr. is sleeping while Icarus is editing the vid.
22:10 - I swear in regular Blood these walls lower on their own... or have some sort of mark to signify it's a 'usable wall'.
So what mod would that cliffhanger lead to? Blexoom? Heredoomood? Bloometic?

20:52 - This part glitched out for me and I was stuck wallhumping for a good hour before I just decided to pistol start it and realized the switch was supposed to open the door, after you kill the bosses. (The part where IL turned around.)

Dlood. Magnificent, but I'm not a fan of them Mancubi losing weight, even though it was only one of the types. Looking at all of the original level designs and inspired enemy hybrids, I want these guys to make their own game and sell it to me on Steam.

I installed this the minute that it dropped, and I was blown away! The demo was one thing, but the entire game was something I had been watching and waiting for for a long time! The floor tiles at the beginning killed me right away, but I finally got the hang of it. FYI, you can create a portable version by installing Delta Touch on an Android phone and pairing it with a Bluetooth controller.
Does it need the newest version to work?
26:50 - The Nightmare mode disables respawning enemies, if you want to take it a step further.
It's quite do-able, honestly. I'd have to check what the difference between it and Extra Crispy is.
Gonna be real: I wish they hadn't offloaded all the bosses until the very end. There were plenty of opportunities to pace them out over the course of the whole episode with the end being big refights.
Also Doom's new weapons don't feel like they...add a lot to the roster. The Flamethrower, Ice Gun, and Lightning Gun all feel like just slight variations on the Plasma Gun. At least one of these could have been turned into a Railgun or something. And it only becomes more apparent when they all become the three-to-four weapons you're maining toward the end of the mod, what with their overabundance of ammo.
I've been through it a couple of times now and I gotta say I definitely agree with your first point.
I did like the flamer once I gave it a chance. It's definitely great at frying large groups of zombies. I didn't like the feel of the ice gun at all. So much so that I changed the weapon set up to so that the plasma rifle would show up first and from then on, I rarely used it. It seems to be good at stun locking and killing lone heavies but that's about it. You get your first tesla pretty late and so it feels like I never really got the chance to become acquainted with it.
IMHO, the worst part about this mod though was simply that the backtracking felt pretty excessive to me. It's not as bad on the second run but it felt really obnoxious on the first.
Don't get me wrong. IMHO, it's a pretty good mod overall. Just has a few flaws.

Oh man, Bloom's finally out? Hell yeah! Been thirsty for more mashup mods since replaying Return of the Triad a few days ago.
INGREDIENTS
1 chicken, skin removed
2 L water
2 onions, chopped
4 leeks, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 turnips, chopped
2 celery stalks and tops, chopped
2 bay leaves
3 cloves
6 black peppercorns
200 g small pasta shapes
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Place all the ingredients into a saucepan except the pasta. Cover with cold water and bring to a boil.
Turn the heat down and let it simmer until the chicken meat falls off the bone. It will take about 1 hour.
Strain and reserve the liquid and spoon off any of the excess chicken fat.
Chop the chicken into small pieces and add back to the soup liquid.
Add the pasta and cook until al dente. Serve with crusty bread.
Enjoy :D it serves 4, or one hungry Doomer

I love that Sandy Peterson is not only aware of the crap people give his maps, but the reputation he has because of them. I'm always a little surprised if I'm honest: a lot of Doom maps sucked in retrospect.
Is it possible to play Brutal Bloom? That would be the icing on the trippy violence-flavoured cake
Doood mode would be an excellent unlock able. Just mix all weapons, double the enemy and pickup count, and make the enemy ai run on hurt me plenty for a massive power fantasy.
Who would play DoooD with Ted (Keanu Reeves) as player character uttering DUDE and EXCELLENT with accompanying guitar riff on a map pack through the history of mankind?
Dark Station was just as confusing to navigate at some point as the others, but holy crap the submerged part was one of the coolest things Ive ever experienced .

Been a long time from when I saw a Mod and thought "God I have to play this" Guess sunday is lined up for me lol.

I am very stupid and this is making me feel so much dumber trying to figure out how to play this, when I through a wad in there it just works, but my dumb brain see no .wad, I tried throwing the .pk3 where they go but it still loads up as doom 2 and I feel so dumb especially since I'm using my phone and when I click on any .txt files nothing pops up so I'm stuck wondering if the name is all the files are and I'm just dumb and should understand everything from what I have or if I'm missing some bit of information that I could have if I was allowed to read
Idk if it's the port o got off of moddb. But for some reason my textures don't appear correctly. I've used both gzdoom 4.5 and 4.6 with doom 2 was in both folders

Have you guys played the Ghostbusters PC game from like 2009 or so? There are these ghost realm levels that have designs like this. Really fun game, I recommend it to anyone. It's actually the 3rd part of the Ghostbusters story that never got made into a movie, so they made it into a game.
