Here in 2024. “Let us go together” is an interesting line since it’s the gesture you can earn when fighting Miquella in the DLC
A contrast between the ingenuity of Ranni's devotion for the tarnished vs Miquella's pure order of compassion devoid of love.
It’s why I (outside of achievement hunting) I always pick Ranni’s ending. It feels the most earned and hopeful

I wonder why Ranni was an Empyrean. She's a child of Rennala, not Marika. Like her two brothers she only ascended to demigod status after their dad rejoined with the Queen

@@nam6282My guess is : they need a woman to become Empyrean, Rise as a God(ess), and by extension guardian of Elden.
SotET tought us the past of Marika, her origin as a chaman, within a society that one could imagine as matriarchal ( due to certain item description and some game connections ). An Elden Lord is merely the rampart protecting the tree. An Empyrean is the spiritual link between the tree and the world.
Edit : which is why the rise of Miquella the Kind makes a great shake in this... The start of a New era, built upon different rules. Without the missguided fingers, or a "shroom" as a symbol of worship.

Anyway, this is probably the best ending because the Age of the Stars is an age of freedom, free from the meddling of the Outer Gods. Yes, there is darkness and uncertainty, but that's what true freedom is - no one interfering with your life unless you allow them to, in a positive or negative way. People may have lost the guidance of the gods, but their destinies are truly their own to shape.

I feel like this ending works best with the Astrologer class.
Its particularly poetic because Astrologers predate the Carian Royalty. When the Astrologers left with Godfrey on the Long March of the Tarnished, the stars still shown their fate. By the time you're called back by grace the stars no longer cradle your destiny, and sorcery itself is left at a decline with the faltering of Rennala.
Completing both Ranni's and Sellen's quest make you out to be some kind of savior for sorcery, in a way. Freeing the stars, bringing about the Age of Stars, and restoring the Primeval Current.

@the_infinexos nah visions of fire are probably the giants fell god (fire god) we know this cuz both messmer and his sister melina had visions of fire and non of em are frenzy flame capable
In Bloodborne we also got a waifu, though we did become a squid to have her.

I read that you have to exhaust her dialogue enough times, and that means talking to her doll in her chambers so you can hear her more.

She doesn't. But Rykard had the final word on this probably 🤷🏻♀️ since he was the one who helped her get the death rune. He's probably the perpetrator and used the Assassins to hit Marika and the golden order where it would hurt the most causing a genocide in the process. The other target was supposed to be her Two Fingers. But it's kind of interpretative, so until there is (and I don't believe there will be) concrete evidence, it's all guesswork.
As the new god, bodiless and fully departed from her old world, The Lands Between cannot be interfered with easily by outer gods.
A lot of these outer gods attached themselves to Marika's offspring/offshoots, thus enabling a constant scramble for power. A fight to reach the Erdtree and usurp the old order.
Now, with the tree burned and transformed into a portal to the uknown, with the new god abandoning it for the sake of a new cycle, the world would be that of men, and not gods.
Is the name of Ranni's ending officially 'Age of THE stars' or 'Age of stars'? Both the achievement and Ranni say Age of THE stars but the official guide and many users use the truncated way Age of Stars

Nah it's mistranslated she wants to break the greater will's control over the people of the lands in between. So she goes to the stars with you so the people will be free of their influence. It's to prevent something like e.g. the shattering happening again where Marika's rage and smashing the Elden Ring ruined everyone's lives

@@rando5638 Late on the comment, but when she speak of a path of dark and lonelyness she wants to remove the outer godsand their envoys from the land between, prior to the age of stars, gods were litteraly there on the planet, able to directly speak their will to mortal people, it was guiding and reassuring, but the gods fcked the world with their fickleness. With ranni's ending, she become the godess, you the elden lord and the both of you packs up and leave. The mortals are now alone, without gods to guide them, but ultimately free

Basically, Ranni hates that the confining nature of the golden order, the influence of the two fingers, and especially the manipulation of people's fates by the Greater Will. So as an Empyrean, her plan is to replace Marika as the new God under the Greater Will, but then let the Golden Order Collapse, leave the Elden Ring broken, and leave the lands between while retaining the godhood so that the Greater Will has no conduite to effect the people in the lands between. This leaves men free to forge their own fates and not be constrained by an orthadoxies restrictions. The cold and lonely stuff is an allusion to men being responsible for their own actions now with no Greater Will to rely on.
Basically, her plan is F-off with the keys and in effect lock the Greater Will out of the lands between.
So what mistake is made to get the “fair consort eternal” instead of this?
As I understand it, you have to exhaust all dialogue options with Ranni to get "dear consort eternal". So the mistake is not speaking to her enough times.
Basically dedicating time to get to know your future wife grants you the dear consort eternal ending, so if you don't talk to her, you won't get to know her pretty well and she still have to develop trust in you, that's how I see it.
In short, speak to her until there's no new dialog or dialog option.
You just need to return to her tower and talk to her doll once more after you give her the ring underground
The future demigods will succeed we're their uncles and aunties failed.
God's in her heaven all's right with the world.

While I don't choose the age of stars ending for a plethora of reasons (most being lore wise), Hearing Ranni call the tarnished Dear Consort Eternal certainly has an appeal to me.
How tf did i get this ending when im not even doing her questline, i just accidentally found the ring and give it to her, and then i got the same cutscene which she called me dear consort even though im not even have her doll and speak to her doll.
Even tho I would simp for Ranni any day, I don't like the kneeling part during the ending. Like, jesus man. She's only a demigod and you've slayed true gods before. You are easily equal.

How some people think Ranni's ending is good is beyond me. She wants to do away with sight, emotion, faith, & touch. Like... What? She's insane & it shows the moment when she killed herself & stuffed her soul into a doll.
So the English translation is wrong, she doesn't want to do away with senses, she just wants to get rid of the influence the outer gods have on the world. She wants the people of the lands between and beyond to be able to choose their own path without the influence of any god. That's also the reason you both leave to her moon as well. Essentially her ending is basically setting everyone free.
It is the tangible links between Mankind and the divines that she plans to get rid of... No more gods. No more Magic. Just humanity and their frail existence to arise with their own knowledge, make their own path.
While she kindly f**k off Into Space, carrying with her the remain of said power. With us... Why she needs us is perhaps a cemantix rule, ever since Marika's reign.
She had to do it in order to don t be next baby factory like greater will wanted her to be. She had to put her soul somewhere.
@@bluewolf_4046 as for translation, I really shouldn't have played the r*ssian localization. They carried over these errors and managed to add their own(in the form of Ranni supposedly being submissive to the Tarnished as Elden Lord, even though lore-wise it's the other way around)
