Arkansas, the land of bad storms, and good neighbors.

I was taught as a child how to train dogs and a big part of it was training them to comply with fire and storm drills. We have a command in German that is specifically to muster the dogs followed by one of several words to denote various doors in different buildings. If anyone screams these phrases the dogs run as fast as they can. We teach the cats to do the same thing however usually they figure it out themselves so far. Each time they muster they are all rewarded with some smoked duck. This takes about 10s in my 3800 square feet house for them all to assemble (4 german shepherds and 2 mutt cats) however when the weather is bad they are never more than 5 meters from me unless they're relieving themselves so there's no need to yell at them for tornado warnings and PDS alerts because they already follow me like... you know, dogs.
In the off chance they are outside when the alert comes I have an outdoor sound system with speakers mounted every 40' around the perimeter of my house that repeats the same orders from a switchboard in my kitchen and another one just like it at the top of the stairs. It can play some other orders too but they aren't germane to this discussion. It's connected to an AVR too that is networked so it can play music when the weather is nice and we're outside, and razorbacks sportsball radio.
