Just as a side note, but of concern. I don't like to have to connect6 to a server in China to do the update or even backup my models. It seems you open yourself up to spyware or 'snoop-around' action you have no control over. So if you have personal data or sensitive data on your computer I would not recommend it.
Tbh I'm an IT engineer and if your worried about spying and snooping you would not use Samsung/Apple/Facebook/TH-cam they all do it and the assistant software doesn't do anything close to what any other companies do but I do get your concern and I have mentioned it to flysky on many occasions but there's no other way to back up the memory
@@WTFRCCars Thanks for your concern. The data seems to be in binary not ASCII and perhaps they have some encoding scheme to make it proprietary. Similar issue was early on with OTX and they fixed it by going the ASCII/text route. I think there are major hardware and soft/firmware changes coming in the future from FS. I was given some hints. Perhaps more memory, SD card support and ETX collaboration?
@klausmewes3622 Think we will see much more Edge tx radios from all but the biggest of brands and I think that's a good thing but I think that the likes of sanwa and futaba could find themselves loosing market share if they don't allow edge tx on their transmitters too
@spiggen1 I'm guessing a lot has changed as that's a very old firmware but this is the change log from 71 I believe www.flysky-cn.com/s/ReleasenoteforPaladinPL18transmitterfirmware20221130.pdf
@spiggen1 just make sure you back up your memories 1st then you can always just copy them back :) you will have to remind them to the correct models but it's also best to update the receiver's too after a tx update

Hi there. Can I flash the PL18 with the PL18 EV 1.0.30 firmware? Is there an FCC version also?
Thanks.
Hi unfortunately no the firmware are not compatible
@@WTFRCCars That's what I thought. But Google AI said it's possible LOL Quote: "Yes, the PL18 EV firmware will work on the PL18"
Good video 😊 I bought that radio in April 2022 and never done any update yet 😅 do you recommend I update ? What do I miss if I don’t ? 🤔 thanks
It's always best to keep the updated what firmware version are you in currently?
@@WTFRCCars I’m using 1.0.53, if it’s matter I use to control a rc hydraulic machine and I think it works good

@@WTFRCCars thanks for sharing, I just don’t want to mess something up so i have to reconfigure everything if I upgrade 🤔
