    Guys, I do not think the storage is user replaceable. It will destroy Apples ladder profit levels like $200 for a $20 256Gb storage upgrade. It will be serialised or have security measures where the OS won't let you use off the shelf storage. Or Apple will nuke it with low performance and disable security features etc artificially. I hope I am wrong, someone tell me I am wrong after swapping it with a 2TB off the shelf SSD and benchmarking it.

      @@Maze86753 I use my M3 Pro MacBook with a 34” 4K monitor and the old Mini is on another 34” 4K monitor. It’s all on a Synology network and a family shared Mini with my wife often using it for projects and it’s sluggish as heck - you can imagine. I’ve planned to upgrade it to one of the M versions but I wasn’t prepared to do it with the M3 when 8GB RAM came as standard and Apple wanted so much for the upgrade to 16GB RAM as we don’t want to invest too much into the 2nd computer. I think now is the time.

      Highly unlikely, though they may redesign it to close to the new mini’s size. It might end up being as small but much taller. They can’t really discontinue it because the mini is still an entry to mid-level desktop while the iMac is only an entry-level. If they got rid of the Studio, they would have no more high end Mac desktops.

    • @TheDanEdwards
      @TheDanEdwards หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you'll need a second Mac with the installation utility, because the SSD contains all the system data (that in the old days were stored on EEPROMs or the like) and security data. So even if you find an SSD to install in your Mini, you'll need to initialize it externally.
