@@WhitelandRestorations by the way I still want me caravelle paint work done but been in hospital hence why I didn't pop up like I said I would, sorry about that, I'll call up in a few weeks. Cheers
When tightening bolts 90°, I always put a dot of paint on one side of the bolt head, no hassle with degree discs or other measuring tools and it is also a check whether you have had all bolts.
Hi, yeah I did compare both heads when looking for a replacement and figured a new AMC would be better than a recon BMW head that could crack again. You didn't see it in the video but I did port out the exhaust ports and smooth everything out apart from the intake. I found that it's best not to do anything to the intake. The casting quality seems really good on this one. We'll see how it runs!
@@WhitelandRestorations thanks i just bought the same head with valves ,springs and guides are the springs same double springs like Oem 885 head? also how is that running after one year? Did you notice any difference in performance with the amc head?
To be honest I've not finished that project yet! Our volvo 240 will be finished first, then I'll get back on my beloved e30. Turbo build sounds cool tell me more? I'll be running a Miller mag with war chip, a 272 cam, a light waight fly wheel, and 6 pranch manifold
What a great vid, that's my favourite BMW engine it's great to see this. Loved the phone call 🤣
Thanks buddy! It's a brilliant engine I'm really excited to see what the upgrades bring to it
Nice work. I just hope the head in my M10 isn’t in bad shape when I start working on it in a few months time.
It is a known issue with all M20 heads, till this day though no one has cracked an AMC head, despite some having minor QC issues.
Passed by on fri, almost popped in to say hi, but didn't want to interrupt getting that volvo painted...!
Jokes on you.... Car's been painted for weeks! 😂
@@WhitelandRestorations Doh....! Haha.....
Thoroughly enjoyed this episode 👍👍👍
Bummer having to get a new Cylinder head 😢
Yeah was gutted. Been driving around for 12 years with a ticking time bomb! Didn't sting as much as the import duty though! Ouch!
Wade it go batman, I'm digging your uploads, very good.
Thank you for watching! 😁

No worries Dane, there's no rush take care of yourself! See you soon 👍

That's quite a handy tip thank Michel! We'll use that when we're rebuilding the E46 engine 👍
@@WhitelandRestorations In this way we learn from each other's "Tip & Tricks".
Hi what book is that?
The AMC has much smaller shape/size intake, exhaust ports, and the flycut on the combustion chamber isn't done near as well as the OE head.

Did your amc had amc valves and springs ?
Yes valves and springs included. I went for the easy option 😅
@@WhitelandRestorations thanks

Did you notice any difference in performance with the amc head?
Yeah they have double valve springs. We were very impressed with the quality of the head apart from the porting not being as good as the original
@@WhitelandRestorations did you notice any performance loses ?
im gonna use this head on my m20b25 turbo build

Price tag on that head?
It was about £600 plus shipping and import duties if I remember correctly!
I think you adjusted the valves wrong .
My plan is to get a few miles done, then re-gap the valves 👍 thanks for watching
Common seen it before
I'd heard the M20 heads were prone to cracking back in the day
Охренеть онаж стоит как паровоз во сколько башка обошлясь?
A little melodramatic but . . . okay.
Holy Tommy Hilfiger, Batman! It's some guy who wears his underpants on the outside like us! 😋👍🩲
