This is one of my favourite musicals, it dares to be different, bursting with originality and threaded with subtleties. While a little of the singing could be better, overall, this production is superb, well acted and well paced, with the important choral singing truly excellent, and supported by a great orchestra. [It sounds that the orchestra is professional and pre-recorded - presumably available for hire along with the performance rights or etc.] In one sense, it's a pity that the company didn't use its own resources to assemble an orchestra, as this is part of the fun and achievement in "putting on a show". However, this show is permeated with very beautiful choral writing that sets it apart from many, Here the quality of the choral singing, and most of the bulk of solo and ensemble vocals would be diminished if accompanied by amateur musicians, so the pro backing is justified. As someone else commented, this video is criminally under-viewed, as it provides truly rewarding viewing.
