What happens and one’s reaction to it are two separate things, tenuously connected by one’s emotions and life experiences. One may not be able to affect the event, but one can control the response.

Fantastic video and message! Really enjoying your podcast -- so many truths that took me years to learn (and continue to learn). Thanks for your brutal honesty about how to #Manage #Millennials.

Very good talk. Wondering if you modeled your "Results" & "Retention" on Steven Covey's P/PC or "production over production capacity"

Let's say I'm an amazing candidate. I'm not sticking around for 8-10 interviews, sorry.
There's a balance between too much screening and too little. Optimize your HR processes to hire in 3-4 weeks with no more than 3 interviews. Otherwise you are bleeding talent.

This is just optimizing a fundamentally broken system.

I'm genuinely curious, Steffen. In your view, how is the management system broken?

military style... this manager and his attitude wouldn't keep me working for him. results and keeping the people isn't enough. this man is just executing orders. in a world of VUCA and the wisdom society, where are the people who can predict what targets are best? I think this basic thinking is outdated and tayloristic - maybe this fits in hierarchy but not in networks.

Taylorism's key tenet is "manager thinks, worker doesn't". Mr Horstman isn't particularly promoting that way of operating. I am very curious to know your view on how managers can act differently in light of VUCA.

Everyone is someone. There is commonality in individuality. If there was not we could not exist.
