    Yes stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

      Since the crash, I've been in the red. I’m playing the long term game, so I'm not too worried but Jim Cramer mentioned there are still a lot of great opportunities, though stocks has been down a lot. I also heard news of a guy that made $250k from about $110k since the crash and I would really look to know how to go about this.

    After reading dozens of productivity and time management books, I discovered that the essence of productivity is not time management but keeping the main thing the main thing. For instance, if you're painter you don't need to complicate things like making to-do-list etc, you just need to take a brush and do painting everyday. In other words, you need to focus on your SYSTEM rather than your goal. Don't occupy your mind with useless strategies which the so-called motivational speakers are selling, focus on your main thing, do it daily, and never miss, the result will take care of itself.

      @MaracujaFitness If you have a gall that is too big for small mind folks to comprehend than you brake it in to smaller steps that fit in other peoples heads.
      Future is something you decide to achieve and get a strategy plan of action and you put in a calender what to do every day until it will be done. Use a calender as to do check list, .... Where you put your dreams and wishes ? In the calendar in order to not miss opportunity?
      isn't calender same to do list ? Life does not give a dam about plans in ones head, we have to wiggle constantly with permanently changing life .
      Make life more wonderful then it is every single second every time you make adjustments. If it not moves we usually call it dead. Everything that does not serves life (human needs) harms 100% for sure, money make us do things, that we wouldn't do by our own free will. and that is how harm is done

    I make Todo lists everyday and I think it is really the key to why I get everything done. I always do the most important thing first, then everything else.
    Without a list, how am I supposed to remember everything I have to do? Honestly I'd forget about half of those things.
    When something pops up, instead of putting my work down and losing my focus, I quickly write it on the list and do it afterwards. Easy

    I’m honestly so tired of hearing “everyone has the same amount of time in a day”. That at first glance might seem true but if you look beyond the surface level you’ll see that’s not true. Someone with more money has more time. Think of it like this how much time is spent taking care of your home? Well if you have more money you simply pay someone to do it. My old boss used to always spew the “same amount of time” shit until I asked him this. “Do you cook or does someone do it for you?” “Do you mow your own yard or do you pay someone?” “Do you take your own calls or does your secretary?” This dude did none of that, he even paid people to pick up his own groceries. He would pay for people to gas up his car while he worked, they would legit come and fuel his car in the parking lot. So again, he might have had the same amount of time by definition but because he could afford to pay for all sorts of services he gained hours that I simply could never have.

    • @WhoWouldWantThisName
      @WhoWouldWantThisName 5 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      The difference is that with the calendar it is "scheduled" as opposed to just on a list for you to get around to it someday. My old "to do" lists worked for me when it was just on a single page, but it didn't take long for it to grow to three or more pages and then it just gets depressing and over whelming. I was working on it all, but so much of it was in progress. Things I couldn't get done in one session would get labeled "IP" and I would just keep re-prioritizing them. I would add about 5 new items to the list for every one I actually completed. Today, I don't get so much out on paper to have to schedule or think about as it just gets too over whelming. I limit myself on what I need to be thinking about so I can see everything that is currently on my plate. I then move on as those things actually get done. This is also where a calendar is effective in that it limits you to how much you have on your forecast of things coming up to do.

      There is no real reason you can't use both. Just know what each is for. For some people, having a leak l literal list helps them immensely. Obviously, put things on your calendar. Obviously you can make a dump list and then organize and prioritize it. I don't need to put everything on my to do list on a calendar.

      I have a to-do list notebook, which has a blank line for you to write in the date. And in the left corner I put little boxes to check off later after I completed the task. I can go back and look at my accomplishments anytime I feel stuck. It also keeps me both motivated and confident. My point is even though I put a date on it it is still a to-do list.....

    So, it isn't really "don't use a to-do list." Instead it's more like "be precisely intentional with your to-do list to the point that you've given every task a specific dedicated time on your calendar in order to complete your to-do list."

      My comment seriously is to be found scrolling down 10 times if you know what I mean. So I will attach it to here:
      To do lists are not really to do lists. It's just some reminders when there is a lot of stuff that needs to get done. These things are not a list that is above one, it is something one simply does for overview.

      No, actually, different things do not work for different people. People who appear to use a calendar only are working from some list or set of lists. They seemed to have missed that point or the people they talked to were disingenuous. There is some list somewhere. The key is to move the lists (to do items) from the ranked backlog (ideal) or multiple project lists, to the time-block in your calendar. This is the real point they are making. Many successful people do this, as well as millionaires, etc.

    I always encourage my employees to walk through the door in the morning and hit those immediate, essential tasks that need to be done every day for one hour. Then, with a dent made on the routine stuff, step away and take a 10-minute break. They review their tasks for the week, the day, and block out their remaining time around what they want to accomplish most. It's effective!

    Personally, a to-do list has been essential in regaining control of my life, but I feel it is the basis of working from my calendar as well.
    I realised how stressed out I was of feeling like I constantly forgot tons of stuff that needed to be done, so I put up a list on my phone, a notepad on my desk, and a notepad at my bedside so I didn't have to use my phone (personally, I found it easier to just use my phone even if it means I look at it in a dark room because I remembered something).
    Anyway, I add every minor thing the second I have the thought, making me feel relaxed and not worrying or having that feeling of "something important I forgot." - Because I know that if there's anything that I wanted or needed to do, I wrote it down. On sundays I put all the things that got added to my phone into a to-do document. Now that I'm well into the process, it's rarely more than a few things being added, but in the beginning i could have 10-20 things.
    My to do-list is sorted in three categories, essential/important tasks, tasks that can wait but that demands my attention every now and again, and things that are non essential.
    Every sunday I plan out the week and put stuff into my calendar, every night before bed I reevaluate my goals and results, and edit my calendar for the day after.
    My to-do list was essential for me to starting this.

    • @marshalllhiepler
      @marshalllhiepler 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Well ya.
      The advice given, is to write down your tasks. The point is, that the most productive people write these tasks on their calender.
      A "To Do List" is simply a string of things one would like to accomplish, without any sense of accountability. You can put as many items as you wish, on a to do list.
      With a calender day however, you have to predict the time required to accomplish the tasks.
      Foolish, to put a month's worth of tasks on a single calender day, and you know it. 8 - 10 hours later, you've barely scratched the surface.
      Using a calender, as opposed to a blank page, is "planning to accomplish" rather than wishing or dreaming.

    • @doctorgonzozaius3136
      @doctorgonzozaius3136 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      marshalllhiepler I hear you. I didn’t watch the video. Wasn’t on the todo list. But yeah I understand your method. Sounds intelligent but I still like the freedom of a todo list if it feels right though I will incorporated the calendar method. I can try anything once. Thanks for informing me on the details. Maybe it will help me. I write on my calendar already important dates. I guess I would need a bigger calendar utilize this method. I’d need something I could see not something buried in my phone.

    • @femmeNikita27
      @femmeNikita27 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, if you have a good system yes, tehy might work. Short ones, contextual, actionable, 3-5 items not 20 or more than yes, such to-do-lists can make one more productive. I use them but I agree key is ability to prioritise and simply habit of acting on your priority tasks.

    • @marshalllhiepler
      @marshalllhiepler 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@femmeNikita27
      "...habit of acting on your priority tasks."
      Yes, you've hit the nail on the head there.
      No "To Do List" , Calender, string around one's finger, or reminder tatooed on one's forehead...
      will have the slightest effect on productivity, if one is not committed to following thru with the tasks.

    • @femmeNikita27
      @femmeNikita27 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it requires some awareness that does come from science we have, studies into habits. Reading "The Power of Habit" can be an eye-opener I think.If prioroty tasks repeat, set up the system, set up routine. Track getting used to your routine with some habit tracker and after a while you will get into habit of acting on your priority tasks. It really requires 3 skills- habit setting, ability to prioritize and habit and action tracking. I know routines sound boring but in fact we do waste time out of habit in our lives so we can flip it and make the most of our lives thanks to following productive routines.

      1993 I had that on a poster in my office; "Just do it!"
      I was a systems analyst doing the job of 3 people as security officer, help desk, communications, backup network mgr, systems integration, db mgr...burning out. I knew how to prioritize. I was personally trained in conferences by Zig Ziglar, Stephen Covey, and the ones who wrote "The One Minute Manager"...how to manage time and priorities.
      "Just do it!" was not working. One day I got out a red marker and drew a circle and a slash around "Just do it!" I trusted my prioritizing and instincts. Things improved.
      One method taught (that in moderation works) is to ignore certain tasks until they die on the vine - hide those task folders in your desk....and you'll later realize they weren't so important. That was an actual method that sounds bad, but can actually be good management.

    Couldn't disagree more. Firstly, I only put high priority things (80-20 principle) on my to-do list, and since I've been using it, I've been achieving way more. Before, when I wasn't using one, I'd procrastinate and ignore the important things whereas now I only work on the three things at the top of my list (need three things only because your attention wanes if you work on the same one thing all the time). I'm not a businessman but work in an office environment.

      It's click bait. The video tells you to make a todo list on your calendar 😂 I agree. Todo lists of any kind are proven to increase efficiency so much that nasa and even brain surgeons use them. It prevents cognitive overload and frees up mental space to focus on the task at hand instead of dividing your attention juggling things you have to do in your head. List making and scheduling are essential for productivity.

    The thing that grinds my gear about these videos is they operate on the very broad and incorrect assumption that everyone is wired the same way, in as much as everyone is capable of being 100% committed to squeezing the most out of every single moment in a day. Some people - many, in fact - simply don’t have the ability to adopt this mindset, for any number of reasons, particularly those who may have issues with mental health (for example.) Whilst admirable to want to squeeze the marrow out of every single moment you’re alive, in many cases it simply isn’t possible. Without additional context, these videos can sometimes do more harm than good, full as they are of ‘inspiring’ pictures, quotes, and philosophies from seemingly perfect super-beings living in a utopian world of efficiency, energy, joy and fulfilment. People complain about ‘body shaming’ - these videos can sometimes feel like ‘brain shaming’.

    • @azaleah8223
      @azaleah8223 5 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      I think these videos are for people who are ready to do what it takes mentally. If you have mental health issues and aren’t ready, go to therapy and take time to heal first. You wouldn’t expect a child to know how to walk before they’ve learned to crawl first, right? Yes, there are children who learn to walk before they’ve crawled but in those cases they miss a lot of brain development that comes with learning to crawl. Later in life they can struggle with things like memory, attention, coordination, and so on. Likewise, if a person who’s still struggling with mental health tries to follow these videos, they might break down and fall instead. And if they don’t right away they might later. So I think the first step in those cases would be to get mental help. Disclaimer: not saying that people with mental health issues are babies. Not trying to belittle anyone at all. All love here! ❤️

      It just sounds like your complaining and trying to make excuses for people who don’t live life at a higher standard. I’m sorry but your attitude stinks. Winners think about winning and they take action and they make their dreams a reality. I do whatever it takes and I don’t make excuses. No one cares about why you are not successful. Action is the key to success.
