    You should add a marina and ample dock space to the keywall. A tourism area on the sea would absolutely have that.

    • @Franimus
      @Franimus ปีที่แล้ว +13

      This. The one thing this area is missing is more beach-related amenities, though from a safety standpoint I'd be concerned about all the alcohol flowing at the casinos... Hopefully the boat/jetski rentals have breathalyzers! haha

    • @dbatchison
      @dbatchison ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@Franimus I think each of the tall condos on the waterfront would likely have a private dock for personal watercraft/sailboats [like Marina Del Rey in CA], but there would be a public access pier in the middle where the main avenue running through the district ends. The area beyond the sea fortress in the cove would likely be developed into public beach access.

  • @foamyesque
    @foamyesque ปีที่แล้ว +50

    For the cable car access, if you elevate the middle pillar by two full elevation steps (24m) you get a neat tower without an ugly raised concrete foundation, and it would give the people on the cars a really spectacular view en-route to the tower itself.

    You built that beach neighborhood a few episodes ago, and ever since, I’ve been wondering: why put the tallest buildings near the water? Wouldn’t it kinda suppress all the land property values behind them cause they have no view? It seems intuitive that they would go all the way back so that everyone has a view.

    One thing you have to be careful of when using the Castle of Lord Chirpwick is that it maxes out the entertainment value of all city-owned land to level 100, which means that it basically negates the functionality of parks you've placed in the city. Those parks will still have visitors I think, but the whole map gets painted purple, there's no part of the city that's unaffected.

    great episode as always. thanks for your hard work. would it be possible to move chirpwick castle to the end of the historical market? that would make for a great view corridor for everyone walking down that street. and you can hide any terrain deformation with the addition of large rocks to the back

    I noted that the Castle of "Lord Chirpwick" is clearly based off of Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria. They've done a few changes but if you google it, you'll see the resemblance is there.
    It's a lovely castle, so I'm not against it.

    I like how the Casino owners have wurmed their way into the city to the point that they just are like "guys, why are you even asking? Of course we'll say yes!" While the remaining board members just grumble angrily at the whole thing

    Every time I hear that "Planting" song, I hear "its cuffing season" from SNL

    About the castle: you can just admit that you spend so much money moving it around, that you hadn't enough left to move it again 😂

    I think flux would be proud with the amount of tree plopping you are doing!

    13:36 maybe the Grand mall could face towards the dead-end road as well, so the parking and access are off a through road?

    I think you gotta add a mansion district up in the hills on the left side for the wealthy casino/hotel owners!

    Me realizing this game is what really got me wanting to do real estate. Of course the real life version is always more in depth.

    What if you built the sea fortress into a man-made water feature as part of the casino complex?

    I would have loved to watch you landscape that gated community with your playlist in the background

    3:40 I think in real life the slip ramp from the left roundabout would probably be a bridge on the same height as the connecting bridge between the two roundabouts, and then, after crossing the highway, the slip ramp would immediately duck down in a left turn UNDER the connector, resulting in a much lower and shorter bridge.
