Yea thank you just ordered one plan on putting it on today. Guy I bought it from wasn’t for sure what year model it was so I just took a leap of faith. Glad I watch this I don’t have a manual to know I had to rotate it 180*
My 2000 Honda 450ES was slightly different, sensor mounted near bottom of engine, no where near exhaust pipe. Models changed about that time, don't know which year it was though, the 500 evidently is different. As one poster said, showing actually changing the sensor would have been beneficial. Good you mentioned turning new sensor to index it to which gear the transmission is actually in. Forgot if had to do that to mine, seems mine was automatically aligned where it needed to be once you got sensor turned so it would slide on the shaft. With all that said, on mine the shifting gears inside were all dried out. Cleaned them and put new grease around them & shafts. Sort of seemed to fix my no shift, dash display lines issue. Lately however, did hang up a time or two like it used to when got hot, why I'm here. Either that new angle sensor I put on is also acting up or have some other problem such as the ECM. Thanks for posting.
You basically install it 180 degrees counter clock wise from where it will end up being bolted in. The sensor is spring loaded. It will be obvious when you have it in hand.
Interesting …. 8 minute plus video and when you get to the actual installation of the sensor, you skip over that part and show it installed. Makes the video a bit pointless
Hello, there is a problem on my 2008 Honda trx250tm ES fourtrax. the indicator on the display shows a different position compared to the position on the gearbox. for example on the screen it says that the gearbox is in first gear, but the gearbox is actually in neutral and the green light for neutral does not light up. when I press the small handle and the button down to put it in reverse, the green light for neutral comes on and the gearbox is in reverse gear. I note that I can't get the letter R on the screen at all. I changed the angle sensor but everything is the same. Does anyone have a solution?

Good video
What kind of Allen wrench did you use?? Thx!
Thank you for this video on changing the angle sensor.
You are welcome.
Shift with a manual wrench shifter
If it’s good what should it read
1600 to 2400 ohms normally. I did not get that on the old one, which is why o was replacing it.
You didn't show us how to turn it clockwise.

Sometimes mine shifts Sometimes it wont
The Honda's are finicky. Everything has to be in alignment mechanically and electronically working harmoniously or it won't work right.
