Well now that you've listened to one of Kiske's main songs, I think it would be cool to see one from Andi as well. The one I would recommend is Occasion Avenue (live on 3 continents), because there you can hear the differences between him and Kiske. While both of them are excellent singers that can belt really high notes, Andi has something very special to his voice.
Other song that I would recommend you to check out is The Scarecrow from Avantasia (the flying opera version, because it sadly was one of the last few concerts before Tobias Sammet lost his voice).
Keep the reactions coming, they are really enjoyable to watch!

I'll suggest you to listen to one of Andi Deris songs since you heard a Kiske only performance, you gotta listen to The King For A Thousand Years - Live on 3 Continents

Some big bands in Europe never make it the US. I'm not surprised if you never heard of UFO or MSG, Saxon etc. My favorites from them are I Want Out, Dr Stein and How Many Tears. These just come out on top of my head because have not listened to them for ages.
On a side note, if my memory serves me correctly, the higher vocal notes during the chorus belongs to the backing vocal guitarist, Kai Hansen??
Thank you for featuring probably the 1st metal band I ve listened to

Incredbile band. Recommend their live shows of HALLOWEEN, Keeper Of The Seven Keys, Forever And One, How Many Tears and A Tale That Wasn't Right.
All their eras are incredible. But the recent shows with all of them together are something special. It's 40 years of history all coming together. Kiske and Andi sound amazing together. So I recommend the recent live videos most of all, with the two of them together.

Those were some of my biggest heroes in the 80s, growing up and becoming a metal fan. Ground fathers of power metal. You can clearly see how they were a big influence for bands like Lovebites and others.
Kiske (Kiss - keh), after coming back, sounds still the same as 35 years ago.
I'm gonna see them live on Sept. 10th 🤘🏻🤘🏻

The extra drums were added because it represents their original drummer Ingo who passed away years back and because it was a reunion, it's a tribute to him that they added his drums to the set up.

Nice reaction! As a teenager, end of 80s, I was a big Helloween fan, awesome that they reunited with all their singers! Michael Kiske maybe lost his hair, but obviously not his voice! Love it! This song is great because it has all these solo parts, every single instrument shines! Greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘

Helloween were the soundtrack of my last year in High School. "In the sky the mighty eagle, doesn't care 'bout what's illegal. Ill eagle is a sick bird." became the resulting dad joke I was never able to get rid of. Still love the music. You might want to check out their mini opera Keeper of the Seven Keys (parts 1 and 2), and the comedic song "Dr. Stein". Also fun to watch some of their original music videos from the 80s and see how horrible time has been to all that hair!

Helloween was great stuff, I think they really changed how metal did sound. That makes me having conflicting feelings about them, because they did great music and the Keeper of the Seven Keys albums were a revolution, but it is also their fault that metal started to sound like that after around 1990. We had great heavy metal and thrash music early and mid 80s, but since Helloween every metal band started to sound like Helloween's power metal, even still to this day. And I like it, but it is always the same. Or so it was until Lovebites.
German heavy metal is very particular, its own world on itself.

Lots of people insist that Helloween were a thing only in the late 80’s and for a brief moment in time, they were considered to be the next big thing on the metal scene after Maiden and Priest. However Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen ( the one with the red guitar) left in the early 90’s and we’re replaced by other members and the song “Forever and one” was recorded in ‘96 with their new and since vocalist Andi Deris - another amazing singer. Lots of line up changes but always great music. Anyway Helloween are not just some one hit wonder from the golden era of heavy metal, have always been around releasing amazing albums. For some reason they flew under the radar of the American audience, that was more interested in grunge and Pantera wannabes. In Europe we have always loved them
Anyway, somewhere in 2015-2016 Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen got back in the band and nowadays Helloween are 7-piece band with two vocalists and 3 guitarists.
Fun fact : The bassist Markus Grosskopf has always been in the band, he is an amazing player and originally he recorded this song on a fretless bass guitar.
Their latest self titled album called simply “Helloween” from 2021 was a blast, and topped #1 in the charts in the UK, Sweden, Finland, their homeland - Germany, it was in the top 10 all over Europe and it was somewhere in the top 40 of the American chart which is amazing for a European power metal band. So far is their greatest commercial success
Thank you for this reaction, I am glad that you have discovered them, take your time and start your amazing journey with their discography. ( Avoid “Pink bubbles go ape “ from 1991, and “Chameleon” from 1993 - Good music but a experimental and distant from what they are known for. Familiarize with their classics first )

@@scostat Helloween are my favorite band and I love both the Pink Bubbles and Chameleon. I have an advice to avoid them for now not because they are bad, but because they are a bit of a departure from their sound. Otherwise I agree with you that both have amazing songs and some weird choices and they should get some extra credit for the bravery of such a bold sonic experiment especially after the huge success of the albums that came before. Btw, the very first song ever I heard by Helloween was “I believe” and I was immediately hooked. Still one of my favorite songs

I'm just starting 4:50, but I noticed you 'missed' the two Bass Drums overhead !
What a pedal setup those must require, eh? !!
(OK, he probably uses a hand-held mallet, but does stimulate a bit of humor)
btw, Haruna uses double-pedals on her stage-right kick (audience left)
so her stage-left kick is for other purposes, visual & cymbal support(?)

    • @GlassMoonGaming
