Hey Dys, I discovered DIMASH or D-SMASH'R 3 years ago when I clicked a thumbnail at the YT side panel that said: "World's best Singer!" I thought right...so "S.O.S." was the 1st 1 I listened to on "I Am Singer." At one point he raises his arm above & slowly lowers it. I thought, WTF???, why is he doing that. Only when I watched again with English subtitles did I realize EVERYTHING HE DOES HAS TO DO WITH TELLING A SONG STORY. His clothes, stage, hair, etc...down to the smallest detail is about creating a setting for experiencing a song's journey. From the first note Dimash weaves a complete tapestry.
I wanted to add that most of his songs are covers albeit from other countries. He does write some and works with composers for new works. My dream is this: DIMASH DOES PHANTOM!! He would do ALL the songs himself. Lol. Keep the Dimash prescription current. A Day without Dimash is-- TOO PAINFUL TO IMAGINE! Thanks🎉🎼🎶💿
I look for him to one day sing the title song for a James Bond movie. The energy, emotions and talent he has would make for a very epic performance.

Hi, after three covers of English songs you should try a cover in his nativ language. The song is called Samaltau and was recorded in his studio for the Tokio Jazz Festival (due to pandemic). It has a wonderful Intro with traditional instruments. The song is more than 100 years old and it is telling the story of a soldier during WW1 forced to leave his country to fight for an occupying power. There are no high notes in it (with Dimash high is a relativ term...😉) Another great song is the newest one on his YT and called Amanat. I personally prefer his songs in Kazakh language though I almost understand nothing and some of them have no cc. But to me they feel even more emotional. Both songs are on his official YT-channel.

Dimash is a perfectionist and is very critical of himself. And he is a very humble humanbeing. He is fast to encourage and talk well about other singers, but tones it down when talking about himself...

His english has become so much better throughout the years, this was the very first year (2017) he started to learn english. He even said he only knew a few words. Now he can have interviews and conversations in english. Of course with an accent but he understands the vocabulary soo much more now, its very Nice to see.
Also you must check out "love is like a dream"
I hope he never loses his accent, that is a part of who he is and what makes him be apart from all others.

And English is one of the most difficult languages in the world for any other language speaker to speak. Most languages of the world have many similarities, English is the odd language. Russian speakers can often convey their meaning in two or three words; the same meaning in English would take 2 to 3 times as many words. Plus English has many words that sound the same , with different meanings.

I have actually seen a video behind the scenes of Dimash reacting to one of his performances and actually saying to himself I mess up,I could have done it this better, he doesn’t view himself as we do,perfection ,he’s very humble;he’s his own critic and pushes him to keep improving,learning new techniques,every single performance even of the same song is unique.Please continue with his performance of Uptown Funk follow his incredible performance of Adagio ,both in the same show I am Singer 2017,this Chinese show is so much better than your typical Got Talent or the Voice ,first all performances are live ,no playback,no auto tune allow,2nd the audience are the judges they vote for their favorite performances each,every week there is a winner,the singers with the most weeks won is the overall winner;each week every participant is face with a challenge to sing in languages they don’t speak with perfect pronunciation and or a different style of music from their own.
Dimash came in 2nd but only because at the time the rules said The Winner had to be a Professional Chinese singer after all I am is a show for Professional Chinese singers Dimash was invited after Winning several competitions across Asia ,he was the wildcard an he was unknown by the Chinese audience after his first performance of the beautiful French song SOS he became famous overnight needed bodyguards.
