Dear Friend! The great Freddie Mercury sang this song in a way that no one can sing. But some modern artists sing songs of the Queen. I heard a cover by Celine Dion. Dimash made his own personal version. I've been listening to Dimash for almost two years. One day I was met by a comment from a viewer who tried to explain why Dimash sang this song this way:
- FIRST CUPLET means Freddie's childhood in India. There everything was quiet and tender, and the show was in dreams, in the distant future. Here Dimash sings softly and beautifully.

- Dimash Kudaibergen was born in Aktobe, Kazakhstan, on May 24, 1994. It is now 192 cm tall.
- Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. The comment the guy made in the beginning was that Dimash has grown, meaning he has more confidence, and he lures the audience with his looks. She responded by saying of course he does, he is very handsome. Dimash was very nervous at the beginning of the show "Singer 2017" because he was the first foreigner to have ever been invited and the youngest in the history of the show. The other singers were all older with established careers and well known to the Chinese audience. They knew nothing about Dimash, not even what he looked like until he appeared on the stage to sing S.O.S., and became an overnight sensation. The next day he thought they were joking when they told him that he had two bodyguards, but it was no joke. He had acquired 6 million followers on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Instagram as well. He was only 22 yrs. old and the other performers were 12-39 years his senior. He should have won first place instead of second, but I am pretty sure it would have been an embarrassment for this " dark horse" as he was called, to win over all the professional and respected Chinese performers. Sandy Lin won first place and Dimash second. We must leave out the orchestra and backup singers on this show. Listen to Adagio, All By Myself, and Unforgettable Day from this show. The orchestra and singers elevated his performances... perfect matches. Yes, it was a singing competition for Chinese professional singers. Dimash was invited as a "dark Horse". and one of the producers said, "This horse is too dark." They just had no idea.

He started training at age 5 & he just turned 27. He still trains hard .
Swimming lets him strengthen his diaphragm & lungs which in turn allows him to control his breathing better than anyone I've seen. It also allows him to hang onto the notes between 20-24 sec.
He's devoted to family/country/culture. His faith guides his life.

His English is better now and has even done some interviews in English. This song was when he had just started learning English phonetically. Yes this one was on I am Singer in China. He was a wild card entry from another country. His newest videos, Be with Me, Golden, and Screaming, show how he has improved. Especially Be with Me.
Yes, competition called The Singer. Only for professionally well established singers. Dimash the only non Chinese, was invited as a wild card entry. Organisers heard him sing and thought he'd add to the competition. He came 2nd. It was a govt sponsored program so imagine a Chinese had to win. But Dimash became great friends with other entrants, and was so grateful for the opportunities the show opened up for him. The Chinese loved him so much they immediately spread the word hence his world wide dears base. Dimash had never spoken English b4 this competition, nor Chinese. He sings in 12 languages plays 7 instruments and speaks 4 maybe more now. He has studied all aspects of music not just singing. He composes music, writes lyrics. He may hve just completed his Doctorate. And on top of that. He is such a humble kind and generous person/ Soul. Lovely to see your reaction!!!!
Ps. The other people watching are competitors. He is 22 at this point. He has just had his 27th birthday. His voice is still maturing.

Dimash didn't complete his Doctorate yet. He started it in autumn, 2020, and Doctorate studied lasts 3-5 years. He could't complete it in half of year...
Family didn't say anything about completing yet.
Dimash had completed his Master's degree in composition in June, 2020.
Dimash speaks in 3 languages: Kazakh (mother tongue), Russian (fluent) and English (in process).

He will always have his accent (thank goodness, because it's delicious! 😄), but his pronunciation of English has improved in the last few years, which helps him reach a broader audience because it means his songs can be more easily understood if listening to them without subtitles. My mom has lived in the US for 59 years and will never lose her lovely Filipina accent, but her pronunciation of most English words is flawless (unlike when she first came here) and no one has any difficulty understanding her. That's what is happening with Dimash's English as he gains more English fluency. We still get his lovely Dinglish, but he is making fewer mistakes like confusing the word "chance" with "change" or not knowing which vowel sound for 'i' to use in the word 'live' in a specific lyric (which is confusing for a non-native speaker because we pronounce that word two different ways depending on the meaning).
@@EvieDelacourt Yes, I agree with everything you said. (I wonder if he'll ever say "the" instead of "da". Maybe that "th" sound is hard because I noticed that Laure Sheng says "da" and her English is pretty good.)
@@barbarasaracini1271 Yes, the 'th' sound is very difficult for a lot of non-native English speakers to pronounce, like the r/l glide can be confusing for native speakers of some languages, or the p/f phonemes. We used to live near a town called "Fort Payne," and my mother was constantly referring to it as "Port Fayne" because that's a very difficult combination for her. 😂

Yes yes yes this is a singing competition, the one that presented him for the first time in front of big big audiences. He was a wildcard in this show. Non-Chinese competing against Chinese known artists and he blew the country away.
By now the whole world knows of him and he has the title of best singer in the world.
He mainly does classical music but kinda mixing styles with pop with his voice mainly and poppera (Mix of Opera and Pop you could say), but he has some more poppy songs, you can check his music videos for "Across Endless Dimensions" (Song for a movie that he did) or "Screaming" (His own music, kinda full pop on that one but with Dimash voice).
Also if you can consider the list I gave you, even if it is not your preferred genre (Wasn't mine either), it really doesn't matter cause this guy transports you to the point you really don't care about genres anymore. At least I feel this way and most people who studied music seem to think similarly.

Someone may have said below, but it is The Singer 2017 In China. He had one week to learn the song and he knew almost no English. He learned the song phonetically. Great Reaction! Keep exploring, Dimash is a deep rabbit hole... but you will be amazed!!!!
Dimash’s “Dinglish” is so enDEARing to his loyal fans. His pronunciation now is getting so good, that we’re pleased as punch that he at least has his accent. Dimash recently did an interview completely in English with no interpreter. That was quite a milestone for him. I thank God that He blessed this planet with Dimash, and for me personally during a very difficult time in my life. 💕💕💕👍🏻

This is the first the Chinese had allowed a foreigner to participate in the contest. At 22 years of age, Dimash was the youngest contestants. They called him Little Brother. The people you were seeing were the other contestants. He came in second place. He stayed in China for the next three years. They love Dimashi. The other Contestants were professional musicians. The next year he was on as a judge and a performer instead of contestant. 😊

He learned this song phonetically. Which in my book makes him all that much more amazing. His English at that time was rudimentary at best. He has a few songs in English and he has improved so much. However it does not matter what language he sings in the result is the same.
He doesn't really rap - like a full song where he is rapping the whole song that is.. But as he is the guy (sorry - I meant to say God.. 😜😅) that insists on mixing genres (...or you could say he has invented a new one (...well, HIS OWN genre that would be - since no one else could copy it... 🙄😎😂)) he has thrown in some rapping in two more pop:ish songs. I suggest you start with "Screaming, Idol Hits"!
I prefer his more classical songs befor the popsongs. But on the other hand I am SO happy that he is following his HEART and therefor choose to mix his repertoir up. And he has FUN on stage doing the more poplike performances. And that's both very important and also wonderful to watch. We want him to follow his heart and be happy thruout his career...

Here's an early reminder to all serious Dimash fans: The MTV youtube channel Friday Livestream resumes on June 4. With the effort of fans around the world Dimash has finished #1 in requests in 9 of the past 10 weeks. In order to keep him on top (and to get two of his music videos played instead of just one) we need to show up en masse and type REQUEST DIMASH as many times as possible in the chat during the three hour program. The MTV Friday Livestream appears on youtube every Friday from 5-8 pm New York time (don't forget to calculate your time zone differences). It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
The 4 guyes are the rock group "Lions" and they were also in the competion. Moore aboute the hole thing comes further down! Also his dad was there after the guyes. Remember that every song he does at different times he changes them a bit everytime so please react to several versions!
Some info about Dimash. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 6-7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe! He also sings in about 12 languages and speaks 3 so far. He is born in May 24 1994.
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and approved to start his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.

The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! When Dimash was gonna go in to the other contestants he again turned to his father and asked him if he done good! That’s the kind of man he is humble, loving and respectful.

Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!

Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 17 or 19 years old and lyrics by Oral Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.

He didn’t win the completion they say its because he wasn’t Chinese. But I don’t know if that’s right or not! They change the rules next year. But he got the most out of it and was most known after this. Got lots of awards and other things to. So he won the audience and the Chinese people.

The audience of 500 have three votes each which they cast after watching the episode. Dimash scored first in SOS, Opera 2, and Adagio. In this song, he scored 3rd.

This is “The Singer 2017” competition. There were 14 episodes. Dimash was competing against already established older Chinese singers. He was the youngest one there, invited as a wild card. He didn’t expect to make it past the first few rounds, but became famous overnight with his very first song, SOS, needing bodyguards the next day (until then, he was relatively unknown, except in Kazakstan). He ended up winning second place (and we all think that was because they wouldn’t allow a non Chinese to win). He became and still is, a darling of the Chinese people who call him “adopted little brother”. He spent the next 3 years performing in China and then in Russia.
When Chinese people put on a show, it is grandiose. If you have a chance, check some of Dimash”s Chinese performances for an idea, “Jasmine”, “Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance”, “Autumn Strong”, and especially “Daybreak Bastau” (a song in Chinese, but performed in Kazhastan).

Awesome! Another performer from the Singer in 2018 you should really check out is HUA CHENYU ! He also has an it factor that catches you right away. Check out "Nunchucks" on Singer 2018; "I don't care " and "Quitan". This kid can mix genres 2 or 3 times within one song! Setting aside Dimash, cuz, you know why! Dimash was heard in one of his performances by a Chinese music executive, who suggested that he be invited to participate in the Chinese "I am a singer" contest in 2017. He was the only non-Chinese speaking singer and the youngest (22 years old ). Dimash is from Kazakhstan and speaks Kazakh, Russian and English. In 2017 he still did not know how to speak English and he learned the songs by phonetics. In this experience he won 3 of the 12 submissions, a situation that elevated him to second place. The day after the TV broadcast began, he accumulated 600 million followers. The first CD he recorded post-contest went platinum in 37 seconds. He went three platinum records this time around. In his interviews he recognizes that thanks to this contest he was known around the world. He has won innumerable awards and distinctions both in his country and abroad. He sings in 12 languages and is a multi-instrumentalist (6). In addition to being a singer and songwriter, he has dabbled in acting, audiovisual direction, dance and as an advertising model (he is 6.3 feet tall). The dears of him are attentive to his new creations and we believe that for Dimash "the sky is the limit". Everything he does, he does perfect !! This past May 24, he just turned 27 years old.

Took him to the top vocal school and waited all day for them to hear him. She walked out with a 5 year old boy who was now the youngest Ever to be enrolled. It's that perfect pitch you are hearing. In 2017 Dimash was invited by producers and an unknown wildcard. After the first episode aired (SOS) he needed bodyguard to go out in public... the performance received 600 millions views on Weibo (Chinese Instagram). In The Singer competition they value above all making a totally different and shocking version of a well-known song. the only ones who can sing their own songs are the unknown singer-songwriters who enter every 2 programs or the already famous and established contestants if they make a new and very different version of one of their songs.
