A new party with be the Reform of the left, as in it will ultimately just split the Labour/left vote (like Reform just split the Tory vote) and let the Tories have a chance at the next GE.

@@joetrent4753 No. We need a true a left wing party. This current crop with Starmer and Reeves are just red Torys. There's no point in keeping the left vote united behind politicians who are implementing right wing policies.

@@joetrent4753so what if it splits the Left. We arent getting anything worth voting for under Starmer, whether its the slower rot of Starmer or faster rot under Sunak the country is still rotting.
The only way forward is to demand electoral reform, which won’t come until so few people actually vote for the winner that we riot.

@@joetrent4753 Then let’s have PR so those of us still with a conscience can break away from the people who have stolen the party and are betraying the people the party was formed to represent, namely the working class and the unions. The majority of people are progressive, the Tories and the right should never govern but our dreadful electoral system has consistently allowed them in.

When will there be Rugby League Joe? Would Jeremy accept an invitation to go to a Warrington game with Lindsay Hoyle? Not recommended!
Want to go to a ground with rainbow flags and sometimes a big banner laid on the pitch before games reading "Trans Rights Are Human Rights"? You have to go two levels down to League 1 for that, to Keighley (though they might still win promotion to the Championship). That's a turnup for the "coal in 't bath" image of rugby league, eh?
Yes, but there's much you wouldn't expect about our working class game and communities if you know only stereotypes.

This interview reminds me of the reason why modern football p1sses me off. A money pit creating unfair advantage; cheating; bending the rules; play-acting (sometimes worthy of RADA). Heresy to football fans, I realise, but nevertheless a microcosm of neoliberalism, where the greedy b'stards take it all. Always enjoy listening to Jeremy, one of the relatively few decent human beings in politics.

To be opposed to zionism and the apartheid state of Israel is certainly NOT anti-semitic. Freedom for the oppressed and occupied people of Palestine 🇵🇸. Stop the genocide. Both Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have proved with thorough studies that Israel is an apartheid state. Palestinians want their land back.
