Yeah I was super surprised at that. The famous bowl is the go to non-chicken only item around here. I agree corn is more pronounced but I think that's because how sweet or corn is
The famous bowl is absolutely great, and it always has been. Of course the British guy has no clue what he’s talking about and cares what it looks like. 🤦♂️🤡
The Famous Bowl is the best thing on the menu next to the chicken its self. The corn used to be on the cob here but someone decided to change that along with doing away the the potato wedges. Those were 2 really stupid changes..
They probably filmed these while shooting their series where the American comes to London and the Brit comes to NYC to film together, those videos are great too!
The real secret to their original chicken is it's deep fried in a pressurized deep fryer. When they're busy and cook it in a regular fryer it tastes like anybody else's chicken. The same as your local grocers fried chicken (and usually not as good tbh). I miss their parfaits & potato wedges. Worked for them as a kid
@@btnhstillfire I've always loved the KFC flavor & hot sauce, it's still unique. I've never tasted a chicken recipe quite as good but the problem is the inconsistent chicken quality with each franchise. Some are amazing and some are like airplane food. That was too much spice for people back then
I'm pretty sure that the fried chicken head was found at a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant. Someone ordered wings and one of the "wings" was a chicken head.
Because in Europe carbonated sodas like 7up and sprite are called lemonade. It is not lemonade that is carbonated but actual lemon flavored sodas. They do not have American style lemonade. Most countries do not.
When a McDonald's tells you its ice cream machine isn't working it means it's being cleaned. Due to food safety laws and the complexity of the machine it can take a while to get everything sanitized. Being broken means customers don't ask how long it'll be until it's ready again, or ask to wait, or dispute whether it needed to be cleaned, etc.; it makes it a nice, clean answer and moves the people along.
McDonalds ice cream machines are a conspiracy where they can only be repaired by the manufacturer. And they throw off maintenance codes for basically nothing, usually the cleaning cycle not finishing. That money comes not from corporate, who negotiated the deal, but from the franchisee. It's all a scam. There are documentaries about it.
I live in Massachusetts & go to kfc maybe 3 or 4 times a month. I always get either the chicken sandwich meal, 8 piece nugget meal or the famous bowl. We only have one in my city but almost every time I go all of my food is fresh & hot without me even having to request it like that. Never been mad when I drove away and checked my food, Can’t say the same for McDonald’s.
famous bowls are really good - they're my go to. Popcorn chicken, corn, mash and gravy all in one bowl. The chicken and mash make it flavorful. The one in the video looked bad though.
Back in the day, when McDonalds dollar menus were still around, it was popular to get a double cheeseburger for $1 and a McChicken for $1. And put the entire McChicken between the 2 burger patties on your double burger and eat it together. It was known as a McGangbang.
Kfc sauce replaced the finger lickin good sauce. It's made from the 11 herbs and spices that make the original seasoning. I like the bowls light on gravy so it won't make everything in the bowl into a soggy mess.
The U.S. KFC had a sandwich called the Double Down, which had two chicken patties with cheese, and bacon, so that the "bun" was the two pieces of chicken. They no longer have it. The skin on KFC is the BEST part !.
We have something here in the southeast US called pepper jelly. Sometimes it mixed with raspberry jelly or other berry jelly and it is really good mixed with cream cheese. Probably similar to sweet chili sauce mixed with cream cheese. My husband loves sweet chili sauce to dip his coconut shrimp into.
growing up, we once had a babysitter and my parents bought us all a bucket of KFC chicken. the babysitter peeled back the skin and showed us what she called the Slime, which she would not eat. I havent eaten KFC for many years but I certainly remember the story!
The Famous bowl is great. Mash potato, corn, cheese, chicken, and gravy. It's no different from a Shepard's pie, to be honest. No, a pot pie has the pastry on the bottom also. It's a pie with meat in it. The US did have corn on the cob just like the UKs, but they got rid of them for some reason. Probably cost-cutting.
I grew up with KFC and didn't realize how mediocre it was until I had Popeye's. Popeye's by far is the best fried chicken chain here in the US hands down. I haven't had KFC in years.
Times sure have changed. Harland Sanders used to inspect the operations at KFC locations when he was around and he'd shut a place down that was not up to his standards. I loved the pot pies but they don't carry them anymore. There was a company that made a software fix for broken McDonald's ice cream machines and McDonald's sued them... for fixing their always broken machines.
❤😂awesome! Saw this unique video yesterday and learned UK KFC is flavorless because of no additives! Plus corn on a cob on a stick come on! Plus all the exclusive only features in said countries! Love it!
The first time I saw the famous bowl advertised, I literally thought KFC's angle was to take random food items they were about to throw in the trash and instead mash them up in a bowl to sell. KFC really isn't that bad, it's just that they've been outclassed now by a bunch of other chains
Beef/chicken burger yum. That's the great thing about discovering new foods and flavors. Combine things and see if it works!! Beef pastrami burgers are legit.
Are you going to try Popeyes chicken ? if so go for he spicey chicken with mashed potatoes and red beans and rice and also the spicey chicken sandwich.
"When you go to McDonald's don't have anything but a Big Mac" - So true. I remember going to Carl's Junior (the UK probably doesn't have those but much superior burgers to McD's) and ordering a chicken sandwich. MISTAKE! The chicken was egregiously undercooked and gave me food poisoning. I don't think sweet chili sauce is Chinese. I think it's Thai. At least the brands available here (San Francisco) are from Thailand if imported (supermarkets now sometimes have a domestic store brand).
Chicken pot pie is a common southern comfort food. They can be amazing, but not from KFC. And biscuits are great, but you need to put some butter and honey on them. A good biscuit is very buttery, flaky and a little bit salty. Lemonade is nothing but lemon juice sugar and water and ice. Soda is not lemonade.
With the biscuits I get here in the US I will usually put either butter or honey on it. There is one fried chicken restaurant I go to here in Los Angeles that does offer you apple butter and that will be the only thing I will use for the biscuits there because it beats out just butter or honey in my opinion. Also in regards to people walking around with corn on the cob, if you go to a neighborhood that has a large Hispanic/Latino population there are street vendors/park vendors that you can get a corn on the cob with a stick in it and they will slather it with mayo or butter, cotijo cheese, lemon juice and chili powder. You can also go to most carnivals and get a corn on the cob and even the Disneyland theme parks here sell them. Can't speak for Disney World as I've never been to Florida.
'Kansas Barbecue'...they mean Kansas City Barbecue. But even in the U.S. everyone thinks all of Kansas City is in Kansas. As a native Kansas Citian, I suggest changing the spelling of Kansas City, MO to Cansas City
Not sure why this guy always says biscuits are the same as scones when they’re not. Biscuits are not made to be eaten alone. They are more like rolls, mainly 90% eaten for breakfast with butter, honey, jelly or jam (there is a difference), or syrup. Chicken restaurants will give you honey and sometimes butter to be eaten with the biscuits.
Man, I haven't had KFC in years because it's overpriced for the quality of food you can get from other places at an arm's length for way better. Every pot pie I've had, has a bottom crust. I dunno if that's just me or not? "drier than a scone" lmfao sounds so funny comparing a biscuit to a scone. I chalk a lot of these taste tests up to nostalgia so there's that as well.

Why would the UK have Lemonade taste like Sprite, Sprite is flavored Lemon & Lime while Lemonade is only supposed to be Lemon.
In the UK lemonade is carbonated. Not so in the US.
If it's anything but the juice of lemons , sugar, and water it isn't lemonade.
They call any lemonish drink lemonade.
