Spencer - I'm 64 years old and have been watching your channel for a long time. You've said that your not an experienced builder, but have done incredible work. You gave me the courage to build 450' of fencing to keep in my pack of 11 dogs. Yesterday, we completed the fencing project that started with a dream 3 years ago. But due to lack of funding couldn't start until 2022. In 2023 I got the rest of the funds and built the last 300' in 3 months. I can't tell you the emotional high of getting the project done, the appreciation to those who helped me get it done and see it though. And you for giving me the courage and will to dream for something I thought I could never do or get done. Thank you so much!
When I was a child (I'm 80 now) with 6 siblings my parents built bunk beds for all us kids. We were so excited to each have our own bed. This video brings back happy memories! Your channel is the best!!
Same here. Was just remembering how Kenzie was helping lift some of those heavy pieces when they first started. They are amazing. When their oldest was asking questions I chuckled. My 6 ye old granddaughter was doing that today.
I worked in construction for over twenty years, found i needed two new hips when i was 42,one never worked so work as i knew it had to stop, gutted i loved doing my job but it was too dangerous to do,i still did my things at home, just started to decorate the house, slow but getting there, until one day i collapsed and got taken to hospital,i had two breaks in my spine, was always falling, then they found my neck has a break in it,had it for years as i could not turn my head around, just thought it was old age, only trouble is it's too dangerous to operate,i have COPD,and my hearts not great,so i had to leave it,i love watching you do your work, since my neck pinched my spinal chord i can no longer walk,i cannot even do my decorating,i am so gutted watching you do your stuff,i loved doing all of this,i am selling all my tools, gave all my car tools to my son.We have worked out how i can do some painting,i can roll from my wheelchair,my wife can cut in the top,i can get on the floor to do the bottom part. Think you are going to have to get another couple of containers delivered, make one into a workshop/ storage shed, then another one to make a add on to make more room, your kids are going to sprout and that little bedroom will not cut it,keep on going man, look forward to your mountain life.
You two are carrying so much and with 3 relatively young kids. This phase will get easier and hopefully you are celebrating all that you are winning at!
Just seeing you have a shot out your window at your work station under that 10X10 pop up canopy. I will hound you forever about you having a 2 shipping container work shed there. As I said, as a union ironworker. We had just that set up on my last 10 years on the job at power houses. We ate 50 Ton lifts for breakfast. We always had around the job site several duel side by side shipping containers spread out by about 20' or what ever is needed, with a roof over head. Some metal and some made out of wood rafters. Most of the metal ones were inside to inside. But most of the wood rafter ones were outside to outside, which is what all the carpenters sheds were. That keeps all the containers covered and cooler from the sun baking them. Trust me as you know, those things get baking hot. Put a roof over them and reduce the heat by 30 degrees or more. Add a door on each one inside the shed for access in the middle of the container. Tin roof on top. BAM, you have a work shed that you never have to worry about the weather. And storage in the containers that keeps all your material dry. Build shelving inside each container to fit your needs. Just think, you could store all your sheet rock vertically in a rack. All your tools on shelving. Nails and screws in a separate bin. 2X4's and such on like a 4' spread support so they do not warp. Housing for your E-bike and countless other items all in the dry. A battery charging station mounted on the wall. Not to mention a 20' X 40' under cover work shop that you can set up with table saw, radial arm saw, drill station, huge work table, any thing you want. All in the DRY !!!!! On the open ends of the shed, the carpenters would build out an enclosure on each end. But they also installed a double door system in the enclosure build out on each end for access big enough for a forklift to bring in material or in your case, a tractor. We could not be shut down by rain or heat. Rain was not a problem with this set up. Heat was still there outside, but think what it is like in direct sunlight. 20 or 30 degrees hotter. I know, I have worked in these shipping container sheds. Had my men and me working in these shipping container sheds in 90 degree plus days ever day during the summer. Roof over the containers mad the difference. Difference between doing our job and sweating a lot or having heat stroke since all of our bolts for the job are stored in those containers. If you do this you will be SO HAPPY !!!!!!! A lot of work, but end product is worth ever drop of sweat. Like heaven on earth !!!!! Need details, shoot me a message. LOVE YOU GUYS, HAVE SINCE DAY ONE. Remember sitting in that car and hopping for 1 K subscribers? ROCK ON !!!!
Tip for the storage compartment at the bunk bed. Make a fabric bag that you can hang in it. Easier to empty the "bin". I also made that for a large storage chest. Fantastic bed!
I have been on TH-cam 5 1/2 years. But I have not been so successful as you have been. You guys are awesome. Everyone watches your programs because of the content and the way you presented and the loving way you and your family get together and have fun together and work together. Your kids are going to grow up to have the same attitude as the two of you excellent! This is what family truly is! Thank you so much until next week
For a guy who had little to no construction experience a few years ago, you certainly are a fine craftsman now. I enjoy how precise you are with everything you build.
Hi guys, I'm your fan since you two moved to your present place. Now you got 3 wonderful kids.....and still so sweet to each other. Keep it up and likewise on your very high quality of workmanship. Looking forward to see you guys enjoying your property in the mountains.....God bless...
Awe , Bear Dog is still going strong. I remember when you first started this channel. He was such a cute puppy. To see him grow with your family warms my heart. ❤❤❤❤❤
The music at the end of the video is beautiful but makes my heart clinch because I always want “more time” with this phenomenal family! These two are made for each other and their kids are the most adorable and I just love the life they’re building (literally 😉) Love to the wonderful family from a devoted grandmother in Texas. ❤😊
This pair of nutters were the first couple I ever watched, I fell in love with them within 5 mins and have adored them ever since, they have a little piece of my heart and the children I would babysit anytime, and squish them and snuggle them and have a mummy nibble and yeah probably suck their chins 😂, I hope you mamma's know exactly what I'm talking about. All my love to you both always xxx❤
I know it sucks to work in but so happy to see rain this summer for y’all. Better than worrying about having enough water. Especially with three little ones. Good job. Happy y’all be able to go to the mountains soon. I know y’all love it.
I can't believe you're so far along with another container!! Such a great job. The kids are growing, you two are so loving, playful and respectful of each other...a great team, and family. I just love you guys!! (Been with you from the beginning!!!) xoxo
I love your daughter's comments about "where does it come from". Mom and Dad, have the right approach. Things are shaping up with the build. Slow and easy is the way to make sure you get it right.🥰
Nice build, but you need vertical support on your front stretchers, glad you are anchoring the back stretchers to the wall. Anyway, 3 pocket screws and glue will not suffice, run at least a 1x2 along the wall between the stretchers to provide vertical support all the way to the floor. Unfortunately, what you have now is a structural failure waiting to happen.
My favorite memories of my parents are of their laughter and our family laughing together. I felt secure and learned not to take myself too seriously. That’s why Beau and Cam make happy kids’ sounds. I love watching inchworms! Makes me smile and remember the inchworm song: “…measuring the Marigolds…”.
Have watched you guys from the beginning! Having built two homes myself I am impressed with your skills. However, while I run a table saw without all of the safety junk that comes with it, please use a push stick when cutting boards. It can go south quickly. Ask me how I know!
I don't know If y'all have been asked this question or plan on doing this, but have y'all thought about putting an RV style awning on the outside of the cabin? so it is attached to the cabin so that y'all can extend it when needed and fold it up for transport or when y'all are not at the Mountain property.
I love watching you be goofy both of you and your children asking questions that may seem silly. Cherish those questions because before you know it those children will be all grown up. When you make people laugh that is a good sign, for you cheer many up that otherwise do not have that. So, stay safe, warm/cool, and blessings.
Spenser. I quote, you had to stop and re-engineer parts for the bed. Just what kind of engineering do you do with a deck chair and a bottle of "bud". I would like to hear Mac's version of that. Once you relocate the container is when it will get a bit hairy. It will move/bend in ways you never thought it would. Ask me how i know ? 👍
So many changes and a few challenges since your site began and I truly look forward to each video. Your positive attitudes and laughter are always present. Spencer while you were building the framing of the new bunkbeds I was wondering if you were going to build three beds and YUP you did. GREAT JOB and fantastic vision. Love to you ALL. God Bless.
hi guys. some times the rim of the eye lash get kind of hard, just the rim and it feels like there is something in your eye so all you can do is wait for the swelling to go down and or put a ice cube on it.
The container is looking great. I am sure you by now you have already ship this container I pray that all your hard work did not get damaged with the structure you removed to create the beauty. Keep up all the great work and content. Love you guys.
So much work! You do such a great job on every project Spencer. And Kenzie always helps with her laughter, not to mention real hands on help. Love watching you guys and your darling family.
Hi guys, thanks for the video always enjoy watching. You guys have fun even in some bad situations. Yours have a lot of fun , I lost all my eyebrows when I was in a coma for 29 days and I’ve never grown back. How weird is that , Cliff from Australia
I got a kick out of all the "where did ... " questions from your son. He reminded me so much of my daughter at that age 😊 I thoroughly enjoy you guys personalities and bantering back and forth with each other. I loved Kinzie's comment - "you are essentially building a trash can" 😉 I laughed out lound at that one. Spencer, you are a perfectionist (to which I can totally relate and identify) and you always have the target of "perfect" in both your design and execution. I know it may drive Kinzie, and possibly even you, crazy once in a while 🤪 , but it is so very worth it! Your methodical approach and craftsmanship are admirable and a joy to watch. I too believe if you are going to take the time to do it, do it right and well. Have a great week and I'll see you on the next one. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
@@MrsStewart1953 I think they said they are going to have a retreat in the mountains, but it would be cool to see them build a homestead. I think the mountain home is in TN and their container home is in TX, and I just cannot imagine they would enjoy living with inbred types
You’re so close to 1.5M👏🏼 We solved the end of bed cubby “where things go to die” problem by filling it with books for bedtime, Can’t wait to see the beds done.
Another wonderful video, but did something happen to IO in the mountain and your waiting for when the container gets there, to show us or give us more insight of what happened.
I think it was a good idea what you guys are doing but have you thought about maybe you might have to add another one to it and have two like your houses and I was wondering if you guys is going to try to plant a garden and up in the mountains and stuff?
Nice work, especially with the little boxes, but why didn't you build 3 bunkbeds in an L-shape? One bed high, one bed low and the one in between in on the other wall (the wall on the right). In that case they can sleep with their feet towards each other/in the corner and they each have more headroom. And it's easier to climb up.
I have been watching since the beginning. It’s amazing how far they have come. They work so well together, patience and the love is evident. Spencer you have become a craftsman many would be so proud of all you have accomplished.
Spencer, how good you are at creating and building something for the container. Mackenzie, is always there to bring a smile to everyone's face. If the move is done before your next video, I hope all goes well without any problems love from Mike. ❤
I remember when you build your house at some point you mentioned that you did not need to pass inspection, how is that? Doesn't TX requires inspections? Great job by the way!
Great work! Spencer- please get some sort of out-feed table set up for your table saw, and use a push block!! Your family needs you for the long haul and you would not be able to keep building like you do if there’s a serious accident.
Look how amazing couple they are. I started watching them since they are just the two of them.... Then she got pregnant and delivered their first born baby..... Then now you have 3 kids. The days goin so fast and it's amazing that not only your works are growing but you're beautiful family too. The children are also growing up day very fast. God bless your family and have more power to continue your vlogs.
When Spencer said imaging the toys on the ground a thought hit my brain ... at the mountain property - build a very large play area outside - a giant sandbox - with enough room for a swingset, slide, etc, put in posts that can support an awning(s) - like those triangle shaped sails - along with a place for a picnic table too - the reason for the white play sand is so they have a clean - easy to see wildlife, especially snakes - safe place to recreation. Also a place the family can sit and have lunch, dinner, coffee, etc, and with the awning/sail something that keeps out too much sunlight and/or rain, plus sand is cleaner and easier then dirt/mud/grass to cleanup in the house, and off them. Anyhow ... just saw that when he made that statement so wrote it right away .... carry on!!!
Spencer, you blow my mind with the project's you do for the family, great video. The children will have everything at the end of their beds before you know it. Hope the cabin moves okay to the mountains without any problems. David B.,Utah. 🐕🐕💞💞❤❤❤.

Hello Everyone, you are doing very well there with your Cabin. Your Family is so beautiful and your work. God Bless you all.
I enjoyed the why and where stage of my kids, and grandkids. I love it!!
Looks like you made a bunk bed by hand similar to what we bought from Ikea..
Another wonderful video, but did something happen to IO in the mountain and your waiting for when the container gets there, to show us or give us more insight of what happened.
Your daughter's adorable questions...
Miss those days with my kids. They grow so fast. ❤
How is the pond doing?
I think it was a good idea what you guys are doing but have you thought about maybe you might have to add another one to it and have two like your houses and I was wondering if you guys is going to try to plant a garden and up in the mountains and stuff?
Nice work, especially with the little boxes, but why didn't you build 3 bunkbeds in an L-shape? One bed high, one bed low and the one in between in on the other wall (the wall on the right). In that case they can sleep with their feet towards each other/in the corner and they each have more headroom. And it's easier to climb up.
Ah, in this video I did not see there is a window on the right side, so not doable in this room.
Lovely update guys. Thank you. Kenzi, I hope you are getting enough rest, water, nutrients etc ❤xxx
If the move is done before your next video, I hope all goes well without any problems
love from Mike. ❤
Awesome bed... but it will be tough to put in the ceiling above it.
You cold make your bed a pull down one then you have the extra space for day time things xx
Wish you would use a push stick on your table saw ...
Watching you all brings me so much joy!!!!! Thank you so much!!!
I never doubted that your outlet holes were in the correct location. You don’t miss!
Great job 👍🏽beds looks very nice 👏🏽👏🏽
I was just about to say your kids ask a lot of questions but then 2 seconds later, you took the words out of my mouth.
How long will the kids fit in these beds ? Where do you find a mattress for a non standard size ?
The children are asking questions already because they are all grown up and is aware of their surroundings !!!Amazing 💜🥰
So where did the other shipping container come from and what are going to do with it ?
Anyhow ... just saw that when he made that statement so wrote it right away .... carry on!!!
You two are identical to one another. I saw your channel for the first time. Happy family, you are a gorgeous, great family.
Spencer, you blow my mind with the project's you do for the family, great video. The children will have everything at the end of their beds before you know it. Hope the cabin moves okay to the mountains without any problems. David B.,Utah. 🐕🐕💞💞❤❤❤.
You are doing a great job. A highly anticipated way point to a worth while journey is close at hand. 👍🙏
