we stayed at the occidental right next door and bought the unlimited package room , was definitly worth the money , we could come and go all the time and was absolutley wonderful
We are doing the same in September, did the unlimited package come with access to food as well? Or is that separate? Also is the Occidental close enough to just run back there and ear then go back later in the day if food is not included? Thanks
@@joeybuckingham7006Probably too late to do you much good now, but food is *not* included. That said, it is close enough to bounce between the resort and the park. There are two dedicated entrances between the park and resort. Hope your stay is/was great!

Happy new year! I’m going tomorrow, I’ll let you know how it goes! Edit: Absolutely incredible park, so much stuff to do and to entertain ourselves, I seriously recommend it to anyone going to Cancun
I’m excited to have discovered you guys! My husband is from Mexico, I am from the USA and we have a home in Cancún! Our upcoming honeymoon trip is a stay at Xcaret for a destination wedding so this video was so helpful, but also can’t wait to check out all your other videos of Cancún & travels! ❤
I have to ask you this question because I've been there before I loved it the food was free but like right after I ate the fish I had to run to the restroom. I got three strains of ecoli. When I went back home I was sick.
Ha! Thanks for the video. I'm flying out to the Yucatan tonight to visit Chichen Itza and Tulum, and was debating about going to xcaret. If I see you two around, I'll make sure to say hola!
1 full day would be enough to enjoy it all. The park is open 8:30 AM-10:00 PM, and most people stay the entire time. The first time we went, that's what we did, and it was perfect!
Hi. At 11:30 when you say "don't do the extra activities" are you talking about the other parks like Xplore, Xenses etc..or what are tje "extra activities" your refering to? And that s a good tip to do the water stuff first. Thank you in advance
we are heading to Cancun in May, but my wife cannot swim and is deathly afraid of water that is deeper than knee high deep. Would it be worth going to Xcaret if you don't go in the water? Thanks!
Did you say many overweight people here, I’m coming with my mum and I really want to go here but we are larger ladies. Wondered if it would be possible
@touristtolocal Great guide video, love it- thank you so much. We are not big eaters either and we are planning to buy the admission basic and then buy ala carte dishes when we wanna eat. what would be your suggestion on this! Also, the locked up bags without the lockers are included in the admission basic, right?
So, you don't need to do the package with the buffet? You can just snack around? How do we pay, peso/dollar? How much do you recommend to exchange so we can eat and buy snacks and souvenirs? thank you for the video, we are going to playa del carmen this weekend and there are so many things I want to do, but feel a bit clueless.
You definitely don't need to get the package with the buffet. Snacking around is an option. You can pay with card, or use pesos/dollars. If you opt not to use a card, I'd suggest using pesos, since the exchange rate would be better. For two people, we spent $42 usd (758 pesos at today's rate) on lunch at a sit down restaurant, so that should kinda give you an idea on how much you want to budget for.
Hello, thanks for sharing and love how you guys gave details of your experience in Cancun. We're planning to go there in mid-December. Is the temperature still good in Xcaret park and is it safe to roam around in Downtown with our 3 year old toddler? Of course, most of the time will be in daytime. TIA!
Hi! Glad you enjoyed our video :) This was actually filmed in January, and December/January are the BEST times of year to visit here since the weather is hot, but not miserably hot. It's definitely safe to wonder town with the 3 year old too. So many families and kids around, so don't worry!
You risk running into hurricane season, so it could be a little rainy. January was pretty ideal weather for us when we went, if you have the option to push back your trip.
The star ratings pop up throughout our videos, usually when we are at restaurants. Just gives viewers an overall idea of if we found value in the place or not.
Great video. Downside for the bus at least when i'm looking (trying to book for next week Wednesday or Thursday) they only have returning times of 9:30pm for both days from Xcaret to downtown Playa. Literally no other times. So kind of a downer since we don't plan on staying that late, likely just going to grab a taxi is possible since Xcaret transportation starts at 7:30am (ugh) and doesn't even tell you when they drop you off, just says they'll tell you before you come which isn't great.
The return times definitely aren't great, so we took a taxi to the Playa del Carmen station on the way back! There's way more times available there, plenty of taxis from Xcaret, and it's about a 15 minute drive.
I am planning to go to xcaret via a cruise that includes admission to the park. Is there a way to book some of the activities like dolphins or stingrays without repurchasing the park entrance tickets?
Yes, I've stayed at the Xcaret resort. It's worth it. You'll get all the parks free. Food free. Transportation free (to and from the airport, parks, and hotel). It's worth it.
We used our main filming camera for some shots and our gopro for most of the day. We've linked all our camera gear in the description if you want to take a look :)
There are some areas that are too deep to stand, however I have had friends do this who also can’t swim. Life jackets are mandatory, so depending on how comfortably you are, you could rely on that to help you float.
Hi!!! Thanks for making this very informative video. You stated you had to pay for lockers because you didn't purchase the plus admission. How much was the separate cost for the lockers? Thank you!

Nice video! What is your thoughts taking young kids here? Would they enjoy it? 3-5 years old.
If we were kids, we would be OBSESSED with Xcaret! Totally take them :) There's definitely a ton more kid friendly activities that we didn't show.
Hi. At 11:30 when you say "don't do the extra activities" are you talking about the other parks like Xplore, Xenses etc..or what are tje "extra activities" your refering to? And that s a good tip to do the water stuff first. Thank you in advance
Sorry for not being more clear. These are the extra activities we are referring to: www.xcaret.com/en/attractions-optional-activities/
How long does it take to get through all the underground rivers? How long are the rivers in total?
You could do it in about an hour!
we are heading to Cancun in May, but my wife cannot swim and is deathly afraid of water that is deeper than knee high deep. Would it be worth going to Xcaret if you don't go in the water? Thanks!
Absolutely! There's still plenty to do here if you don't swim.
Xcaret Hotel for Millonaires!!. One room for 2 people cost an average of $1,000 per night!!!
Woah! That's expensive! We stayed in downtown cancun for this trip to save money ;)
You don't need to stay at that hotel to go to the park
It's worth it. I'm not a millionaire.
I'm trying to plan a vacation there soon but the prices are about 7k average. Didn't know I could stay somewhere else.
@@djonathan1987 you can stay somewhere else and just pay for the parks. It's worth it it was worth it for me it's better than Disneyland

Thanks so much!
Do you need to reserve the parks activities ahead of time? The websites say space is limited. But it’s supposed to be included in the hotel stay?
Unfortunately we aren't 100% sure about that. We'd recommend contacting their support! They are pretty responsive.

That sounds like a great plan! Kinda what we did :) As for the bags, lockers aren't included, but they did have dry bags available that were included.
@@TouristtoLocal and these dry bags have got locks and they would provide the keys to us, right? as shown in the video... :) :)
Is there a time of year when the water is warm?
Definitely summer! We were here in winter, and it really isn't that bad. Juliana is just dramatic with entering water in general ;)
