Hola Giovanni esta muy bonito mexico cada que puedas da le un jalon de orejas a nuestros paisanos que tiran basura se ve muy mal y da mala imajen al Turismo
We were in PDC the first week of December and your videos were really helpful! This was our fifth trip to Mexico, but first not on a resort. We stayed at an Air BnB not far from Playa 88 and liked being away from the more touristy area but could walk up to 5th when we wanted and as you pointed out the further away from the chaos the much more relaxed and cheaper it was. We ate at some fantastic restaurants, tried marquesitas (so good!), and I spend 2 mornings volunteering by walking dogs at the Playa Del Carmen Animal Rescue. We walked over 20,000 steps a day and always felt safe with the common sense guidelines that you've pointed out here. I can't wait to come back and hopefully will have a lot more Spanish under my belt.
Hola Amanda 👋🏼👋🏼. Aw, is lovely to hear that our videos helped you on your past trip 🙏🏼. Definitely walking away from the main 5th Avenue area is one of the best ways to save some money perhaps towards more activities but still being on a nice area in PDC. We’re glad hearing you decided not staying in a resort and explore more the local areas. Awesome, thank you for have participated on the Animal Rescue this is so lovely. Thank you again for such a nice comment and we are always happy to hear about people’s trip 🙏🏼❤️. Gracias amiga 🫶
We never wear branded clothing that might give a clue where we are from - such as team wear or state. Also try and cover any resort wristband with a watch bracelet. On Sundays the beach at Parque Fundadores and about 200 yards north of the beach entrance at Mamitas are where the locals hang out. We enjoy hanging here and people watch. We call the north end the bohemian area as the vibe is really laid back with hippies and hipsters and lots of new condos in the area. Thank you both and have a great year!
Those are *techniques* that are helpful to not attract the vendors 🤭🤭. That's awesome, and of course, Sat and Sunday are the local days, you can clearly see they have a great time at the beach. Thank amigo for watching and commenting, we truly appreciate it ❤️🤩
I just returned from Playa Del Carmen and had a wonderful time. I would like to share with everyone one scam or problem that I am currently dealing with. I was charged on my card after we left a small bar. We wanted to experience some smaller bars and just went for one drink and moved to the next small bar just off of 5th. My credit card shows the $19 USD for the 2 drinks and a generous tip. We left right after that. The next morning "The Thursty Gringo" charged $78 USD to my card. We were never there for that!! Unfortunately, my local friend has told me that they probably took a photo of my card and will continue to use it. I'm destroying this card and will have to get a completely new one. Another piece of advice for the bigger clubs is pay your bill each round. Otherwise you will have a very long bill at the end that will be very difficult to understand and you can't leave until you pay it. Thank you two for making such great informative videos. 😎👍
Hola Jeff, 🤩 First and foremost, we're truly sorry to hear about your experience. We greatly appreciate you *sharing* it with us to assist other travellers. Your tips and advice are invaluable. My family is visiting Mexico for the first time in June (Peurto Aventuras) We discovered your videos in January shortly after booking our trip and we have been watching them in our TV for hours every day. I’m not exaggerating at all. It feels like you guys are now part of our home lol. Your videos have been helpful beyond words. Thank you so much for the amazing content. Awesome guys, you will love Puerto Aventuras. The bain of your existence 😂😂 Great tips!! We are so excited to use your guide to plan our trip it has SO MUCH amazing tips, places, even where to stay you guys did so good on it! 10 out of 10 recommend if your thinking about it the guide is saving us SO much time, and money, in planning our trip! Thank you guys ❤❤
Aw, thank you so much friend, you must be so excited January is around the corner, we bet you will have a great time here in PDC. P.S: We are so *happy* you loved our merch 🤭🤩🫶
Great tips on Playa del Carmen. This would help anyone going to the area. Out of all of Quintana Roo I think Playa Del Carmen is the most accessible to foreigners. It is important to always be aware.
Hola Pedroza 👋👋 We do agree, that PDC is kind of the most *centralised* area to move around among the "big" cities in the entire State. Thanks for commenting 🤩🫶
Awesome, thank you so much for watching and leaving a comment amigos. We're so happy to read you guys are enjoying our content. We have a full library of videos here in TH-cam as well we have our map and guide that can be so useful too. Happy trip planning 🤗🤩🙏

Hola amigos, aw, thank you so much! *Simone* is the mastermind behind the designs 🤭. I was with my University classmates drinking, celebrating Mexican Independence Day, and being too patriotic 😆😆. Emiliano is an undercover cop 🤣🤣. Gracias amigos for watching and commenting. We're sending you a big big hug 🤩🤩
Guys, another great video. Glad to see that you’re both healthy and happy. Thanks for the tip about areas to purchase Condos, we just returned from PDC last November 2023 and miss it already. Question, in your original plan to visit all of Mexico did you guys visit Veracruz????
Hola Tardy 🤗 Thank you so much amigo, we are glad you enjoyed this video. That means that you guys had a great time here 🤩🥰. Yes, all *32* states and of course Veracruz is in our plans, There is any particular area in Veracruz you're interested in? Again thanks for watching and leaving your comment 🤩🫶
We’re glad you watched amiga. Thank you so much for your support and if you want to leave any tips that helped you when you travelled around the areas please leave them below 👇🏼 🙏🏼 thanks again for watching ❤️😍
@ForTheRoadTravels I booked a trip last night for end of April. Staying in an Airbnb. It would be lovely to meet you both if feasible. I do hope all is well and you are having a relaxing Sunday!
Oh you so make me "homesick" for Playa!!!! Loving the merch! ( Would love a V neck or a tank...sorry guys i just can't wear a crew neck). You are the best guides in Playa!! We hope to be back in November 2024!!!! Determined to be a half year Snowbird lol... Great info and totally agree with all your advice!! We pass on your channel to anyone we hear who is coming to Mexico!!!... Big Love from Canada!!!....Viv&Darrell
Aw, guys, we can *imagine* how much you miss your home away from home. That's a great suggestion regarding the merch; we will definitely explore our options. Thank you so much! We love helping people explore this beautiful place. It's awesome that you'll be here in less than a year. We truly appreciate this; spreading the word is the best marketing for us. Thank you so much for your support.❤️🥰🤩
Great video as always! Yes, I agree that it would be a good idea for people to stay away from Animalandia. How stressed/depressed/unhappy would they be if they got kidnapped by Martians and had to spend the rest of their life posing for photos with Martian tourists?!? : (
Oh, *thank* you so much, Rich! We completely agree with your analogy. It's disheartening to think that just a few years ago, there was a Capuchin Monkey at Parque Fundadores for people to take pictures with. That was truly sad to witness, and we're relieved that it's no longer there. In fact, Animalandia used to display government closure signs, but, as you know, with enough money, they can bypass the rules. Thank you once again for watching and for leaving your comment, saludos amigo! 🤩🤗
Thanks for all the good information. In January I will be staying at Puerto Morelos but plan to visit Playa de Carmen. I always enjoy Playa del Carmen.
Hola Sue, thank you so much for watching and for *leaving* a comment, you must be so excited, just around the corner 🤩🫶. We bet you will have a fantastic time 🥰 Sending you a big hug amiga.
Great video guys! I'm so going to check out the Carmen hotel rooftop next time I'm in town. Question - what corner is that Municipal Market on in Playa?
Great travel vlog and channel Simone and Geovanny! 🤠 Just stumbled upon your channel and subscribed :) Friendly note, your website is not loading. Tried the link from description and also directly from Google. It’s not loading for some reason (trying from Canada btw). Looking forward to your next videos and also your previous ones… you have lots of golden ones 🙏🏼🍁🌞
Hola Ronal, thank you so much for your kind words, we are so happy you found out our channel 🤩🫶. Thanks for letting us know, we are experiencing some issues with our host provider but we are working on that. The site is online now, but we truly *appreciate* you letting us know 🤩🤗❤️
Been watching all of these video and love it!! 💕💕 y’all think you guys can make a video about wheelchair accessibility for us people that want to go too but don’t know what to expect exactly 😅 From videos ive watch I’ve seen there is some cut curbs in the streets? What tourist sites are accessible? I know cenotes would be a no 😢 transportation? Etc 😀😀
Hola *Celia* , we first apologise for the late reply, we've been slowly catching up with messages and comments. PDC has excellent accessible roads, actually, all of the Blue Flag beaches in PDC have wheelchair accessibility, we will try to showcase more of these features of the city in our future videos. For Cenotes, I do not believe they have some wheelchair access, but Xcaret Xenotes might have something, they are always food at this. Thank you for your lovely comment, Celia 🫶❤️🙏
Excelente video!
Glad you enjoyed it 🫶🙌 I'd highly recommend downloading an app called 'RadioTaxi PDC'. On there you can add your destination to get an idea of what you should be charged 😌 Or, you can just use the app to request a taxi if you don't mind the MX$20 fee to use the app (what we'd recommend)😌
This was a great video, thank you for sharing this information! You went to one of my favorite restaraunts for lunch. The pancakes there are pretty good. Also, there is a fruit stand around the corner (Just take a left on 10th, on the same side of street as the oxxo) that servers big bowls of fruit, yogurt, granola, and honey for 65 pesos. Very good as well. I wanted to add another scam to tbe list. The massages. First, make sure you agree on a price beforehand, you can negoatiate. If not you may be paying more than you were quoted. Second, have cash on hand, pesos. The extra charges with card can be up to $5-7 USD even with foreign transaction fee waviers on your card. The VAT can be up to 15-17%.
Aw, thank you so much amigo. Really did you use to frequent PDC Mercado? I think I know which fruit stand you're talking about. Pretty affordable, right? Yes, most places you must make sure what's the final price with all taxes and fees added because people love to add more for them to have their cut. They'd love to be paid in cash! Thanks for watching and commenting amigo 🫶❤️🙏
Absolutely, it is totally safe but we always recommend avoid the dark alleys or empty street at night. Thank you for watching and for your comment Cecilia 🫶♥️
Gracias 🙂
Hola Luis, After re-checking our *expenses* on the day we went to the rooftop, we mistakenly said 600 MXN per person. and it was $300 MXN per person. We had 3 beers, 2 sparkling water, boneless, and the burger and our final bill was MXN 835 including a 20% tip. We hope this helps amigo 🫶. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏❤️.
We believe is at the Cochi Loka? Close to the 5th Ave? We have not tried there we will check it out one of these days 🙏🏼💯. Thanks for watching and commenting 🫶
I was in Playa for 2 months and I love it! One scam to be aware of is with the hospital. I had a run-in with Dengue Fever and needed to get tests done to be sure. The staff was wonderful but the young guy coding for the lab tests had a clever scam. He added a few additional tests on. A $90 bill turned into a $650 request. Fortunately, my Spanish is good enough and i asked for to see the cost breakdown. "Somehow" he had mistakenly added a full lab workup on the list for $500 extra. No big deal, amigo. The doc did not order this. The emergency room visit, doctor, and dengue test cost me $80.
Hola amigo thank you for sharing this experience with us, would you mind to share which hospital did you have this test done? Thank you for watching and commenting, we truly appreciate it 🙏🙏

Better beach club is Martinas. Rooftops hit up Reef 28, Thompsons or the Fives. There's a fully free public beach right next to Martinas where you can bring your own Beach chair and umbrella. We moved here 3 years ago. Most people that live here stay off 5th. To avoid it you can walk on 10th, parallel to 5th. You're welcome
Buenas tardes amig@, 👋 We have never been in Martinas, but we have stayed at the Pelicanos beach which we love it. For the rooftoop, yes we have checked out Reef 28 we have actually someone we know working there, and we have visited during sunset time but long time ago. 🤭 We prefer walking from the 38 streets up on the 5th avenue where we believe is the quietest and we really like there. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
Hi guys. The place you mention in minute 24 is the bane of my existence too. I was assaulted by some associates of that place because I had too much to drink and it affected my better judgement and I spoke up against them in front of people waiting in line. Big mistake.
Hola amig@, seriously? That place has been closed down so many times, we do not know why they are still operating. We are so sorry to hear you have to experience that 🥲
@@ForTheRoadTravels thank you. It was bad I spent the night in the hospital. i believe in karma. I don't know why they keep re-opening. I wish people would not give them business.
Hi, can you say something about what to eat and drink, and what not to? I expect visitors should not drink the water. Can you drink lemonade, for instance? Salads that have been rinsed in water?
Absolutely tap water should not be drank, however all aguas frescas are made with filtered water and fruits and vegetables are also washed with filtered water and a all produce most of the places use Microdyn which disinfect any bacteria in them 🙏🏼🤩
They simply have animals that are way beyond their natural habitats, and we believe they are in not the proper conditions, they profit of them which shouldn’t be. In our honest opinion 🙏🏼
Hi! Thinking about honeymooning at Hotel Xcaret Arte June 23 - July 2 this year. How is the weather during this time? That's the only thing we are worried about. It being way too hot to enjoy ourselves. Any info would help :)
Hey Dakota 😊😊 Congratulations on getting married, that's awesome! What a stunning hotel to enjoy your honeymoon 🌴 It does tent to get pretty hot and humid during the months of June and July, especially if you're planning on doing a lot of sightseeing and walking tours. If you're mostly going to be staying at the hotel and enjoying the pool and beach, then the heat isn't too bad ☀️

Hola Gina! Not really, the ADO is on the 20th Avenue. You would have to walk back to the 12th street and from there going up to the 20th where one of the ADO stations is located. 🙏🙏. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤩
Hello ! I’ll be there from France in début of june. I had one question about water, I know i shouldnt drink it but what about ice cubes in a frozen margarita ? What about horchata or jamaiqua in the streets ?
Hola Arnaud, Thank very much for watching and for your comment. Ice 99.99% in the food and beverage establishments will be made from purified or filter water. It is safe to drink. We always suggest if getting a glass bottle soda, clean the rim with a napkin 🙏😃
@@ForTheRoadTravels ho that’s great, thank you very much for your quick answer. I’ll check many of your vidéos before I come. I already noted Loncheria doña Mary as a good place to eat. As a neewbie in tequila i have to know what to taste and what to bring home 🤩

By any chance did you hear anything on the news or on FB about a 1 vehicle motorcycle crash (likely fatal) that happened 1 month ago on Avenida 30 near Nativo around 1am-2am? After the combis stopped running. I'm curious
Traveling there in a couple weeks. Staying at a resort. What side of town is that considered and is there any local food near the resorts? I assume the resorts are all clumped together.
Hola amig@, 👐👐 Depends where you are staying, the closest where you can get local food is at the 30 AV. If you are staying at a hotel along side the highway you will have to commute to Playa del Carmen to experience this. 🫶🫶 We have created a map with all the local spots we have tried in PDC you can find it here: fortheroadtravels.com/product/the-riviera-maya-map/ Thank you again for watching and commenting in our content. Gosh Americans, especially older American men stand out like ATMs ready to empty of cash. Though American I have lived in Latin America over 11 years and blend right in as long as I don/t talk. And at age 76 most think I am in my late 40's or mid 50's.
🤭🤭 Hola Ron, unfortunately in these tourist areas, they target so many "gringos" looking like people as the vendors think they can use their absurd techniques to make them buy their stuff. Thank you for watching and commenting 🫶🙏
Min Consumption on that rooftop was 600 MXN per person...which you think is only 19 USD and 15 CA? Lol even 7 months ago that isn't even close to being accurate. Informative video otherwise though.
@@ForTheRoadTravels Boo! As an aside, I’m looking at possibly moving to PDC. I’m looking at condos at Veranto and Arenis (Moskito realty built both). Didn’t know if you were familiar with either condo. They’re both not far from the 20th ave. ADO bus station and the Wal-Mart.

Great tips on Playa del Carmen. This would help anyone going to the area. Out of all of Quintana Roo I think Playa Del Carmen is the most accessible to foreigners. It is important to always be aware.
Hola Pedroza 👋👋
We do agree, that PDC is kind of the most *centralised* area to move around among the "big" cities in the entire State. Thanks for commenting 🤩🫶

Thanks for the tip about areas to purchase Condos, we just returned from PDC last November 2023 and miss it already. Question, in your original plan to visit all of Mexico did you guys visit Veracruz????
Hola Tardy 🤗
Thank you so much amigo, we are glad you enjoyed this video. That means that you guys had a great time here 🤩🥰. Yes, all *32* states and of course Veracruz is in our plans, There is any particular area in Veracruz you're interested in?

Been watching all of these video and love it!! 💕💕 y’all think you guys can make a video about wheelchair accessibility for us people that want to go too but don’t know what to expect exactly 😅
From videos ive watch I’ve seen there is some cut curbs in the streets?

I am visiting playa next week. Just wondering if you know how i should expect to pay for taxi going to Cenote Azul? Thanks!

Aw, thank you so much amiga 🤩🫶

Gracias 🙂

What super markets did you go to for tequila and grocery’s? Thank you!
You can go to Mega Soriana or Walmart 🤗😊
Hi. Great video. Just wondering how did you do the breakdown for the calculations on the food costs at the Roof Top at The Carmen? Thanks
Hola Luis,
After re-checking our *expenses* on the day we went to the rooftop, we mistakenly said 600 MXN per person. and it was $300 MXN per person. We had 3 beers, 2 sparkling water, boneless, and the burger and our final bill was MXN 835 including a 20% tip. We hope this helps amigo 🫶. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙏❤️.
So 300 pesos in canadian dollars would be?@@ForTheRoadTravels
@@ForTheRoadTravels that’s pretty inexpensive for a rooftop bar in PDC! Thx!

Buenas tardes amig@, 👋
We have never been in Martinas, but we have stayed at the Pelicanos beach which we love it. For the rooftoop, yes we have checked out Reef 28 we have actually someone we know working there, and we have visited during sunset time but long time ago. 🤭
We prefer walking from the 38 streets up on the 5th avenue where we believe is the quietest and we really like there. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
I really like The Reef 28 rooftop pool.
We visited that one once for sunset drinks, we loved it but we'd love to go for the day.
Thanks for watching and commenting amigo 🤩🥰
