I Bought the CHEAPEST Front Loader Tractor on Facebook... Let's BUILD A RACETRACK!

  • I bought a cheap used Kubota BX2200 front loader tractor, and I LOVE IT! I bought this tractor to build new tracks, maintain tracks, and build jumps. It's one of the smallest tractors available (it looks like a glorified lawn mower), but it's nice and lightweight, nimble, and kinda fast (for what it is).

      I was waching the head-2-head video and thought about running a mower on the track. It's actually a great idea for several reasons.
      1. it clears the racing line of debris
      2. If the mower can't drive on it you can't drive a track cart on it;
      eg ) If it's un-mowable it counts as a 'crawler' or 'off road' track.
      3. it defines the track better.
      4. when parts fall off they are much easier to find due to the clean racing line

      Modern Diesel Fuel has a tendency to breed Algae which will Rob your Equipment of Power and eventually shut it down.

Mowed, plowed, raked, smoothed acres, drilled hundreds of fence post holes, etc, etc. Also put forks on the loader and used as a fork lift. Never has broken. Mine has ag tires. Never gotten stuck, but it does tear up grass. Great little tractor. And if you haven't found out yet, it has a small foot lever on the left side that will lock the rear diff. Helps in soft conditions.

      I would look for a 4 ft brush hog type mower to do initial exploratory cutting of trail versus using your belly mower. And if you want to jump the creek in the Kubota take the belly mower off.....expensive to repair or replace. Remember the tractor is a TOOL to maintain the property, not a race tractor. That is unless you have a HUGH budget for the show.

    • @dodgeme1986truck
      @dodgeme1986truck 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What they need is a tow behind rough cut/ field and brush mower then follow it with the belly mower set at max height then finish with the belly mower at desired height spaced over about a week. Also they need some nice v-bar/ag tires for that small machine liquid filled to 75% total volume at 3-5psi in the rear tires... it shouldn't rip up the grass under normal operating conditions but the added weight from liquid filling will make the machine more stable under all conditions especially when you have the loader on because the weight is in the tires themselves at ground lvl ... also the tire filling nearly doubles the traction in any and all terrain conditions and it's a simple inexpensive mod (especially if you live where it rarely ever freezes and can bring it into a heated space on those rare days) can be done with water/washer fluid/beet juice/commercially available liquid tire weight compounds/antifreezes/calcium chloride, steel shot/bee bee pellets/ball bearings/lead shot have also been known to be added for even more tire weight (take it from someone who actually works with machinery for a living in marshy blue clay filled fields) once you fill the tires you'll never want to go back especially with a loader on (and I operate Volvo L350h size loaders so I know the difference between loaded and unloaded tires and It does scale down to the smaller machines too) for example a 23x10.50-12 tire will gain between 60-90lbs just by liquid filling to 75% per tire and because the weight is at ground lvl it significantly lowers the effective center of gravity

    Yeah, ur gonna defiantly want either a tires or the combo ag/turf tires at the very least. That belly mower is used to cut stuff only about 6 inches tall, above that, as you found, it clogs easy and leaves some grass stalks. A 4 foot bush hog would work better for the tall stuff then run it over with the belly on the next cutting to keep it nicely trimmed. A tip or two if I may about the box blade, it is mostly only for maintaining gravel and dirt tracks and does an amazing job at it, but it really sucks at trying to cut one in. I cut a track in for our family last year using first the bush hog to get the grass down, then took a set of disks to it to really loosen the soil and Choo up the vegetation. I then to an open ended scrape blade set at a slight angle to pile up the dirt on the sides of the track, then took the box blade to smooth everything over after driving over it a bunch to pack the moved soil in. The family loves it, even had the wife on her dingo on it once or twice. Also, the bush hog has been used to cut in around 4 miles of trails on our 400 acre farm and the only thing I have ever found that comes close to it was a forestry bulldozer for making trails.

    Suggestion for the mower. Thing of the tracks and rest of the property like a golf course. On the high use areas or pretty spots like the track course or by the house/shop mow at your desired level (fair way). And on the outsides of the track or rough spots just mow at the highest level, it should save time, fuel, wear and tear on the mower. Time- mow a little faster b/c the mower is not trying to cut all the grass just give it a buzz cut to even out all the stragglers and won't bogg down the mower as much. Fuel and wear and tear- cutting less grass at one time put less load on the motor and blades, so longer lasting blades and more fuel efficient.

    Belly mower for established grass lawns only. Rotary mower for mixed grass/brush/bushes mowing. Good job on keeping the bucket low, you make a huge flipping hazard keeping it high in the air. If you have the quick hitch you can quickly detach the bucket for better visibility when mowing.

    My dad bought a BX1800 new with the same loader. Its paid for itself now like 20 years later. Definitely a quality machine so you will get good use out of it even if the previous owner let it get a little rough.

    road/drive jump RBG style xD thats an awesome touch for flourish for a start/stop lol,
    also i think y'all need to look into some more aggressive tires for the tractor, maybe some ag tires might have helped a bit over the "turf saver" A/T tires that are on it, then again, you would have just made it further into the soup before getting stuck, great vid

    Instead of Ag tires, look at the idea of ATV tires. A lot of us up here in the great white north, were running turfs but have switched to ATV tires for best all around tire. have found that Ag tires are to aggressive in the grass mowing side and turfs are not enough on the hills (slippery when wet). Not sure if weight load of this tractor will prevent you from running ATV's with the loader on or not or if size would be an issue, but just a thought. Quite a few people have tossed there turf tires and chains for winter and went with ATV's and never looked back. Just some ideas from the Garden tractor world. Great looking tractor none the less and I'm sure you're going to have a lot of fun with it. Can't waite to see some new tracks.

    Towing a section of chain link fencing with some cinder blocks on it is an easy way to grade your track. We also spray weed and grass killer on ours first. Works so good. Try it boys.

    Kubota makes a nice little tractor, As much property and mud you have it would pay you to get all tractor lug tires all the way around and take that deck off and get you a brush hog to cut with.
    I know all that costs money, I'm just putting it out there..
    No insult or hate intended, just a statement. Great work guys, looks like alot of fun getting muddy..
    Thanks for all the work and videos.

    Good to hear a better facility is in the works. A few suggestions; a full bath room ( toilet, shower and a big lavatory or sink) would be a dream come true for you both; some sort of high vantage that would let you see/hear most of the tracks would give you good back up for spills and breakages, and set all the carts and minis up for a dead lift with the bucket so you can take them back to the shop. PS: How is the Bimmercart doing?

    Man, the cross cart needs some wheels and tires like that new project truck has. Never realized that till I just saw it sitting next to it, while y'all were talking in your shop. Then the trackion probably it had. When we were looking at how MUDDY 😂 John was. The tires really looking out of place and small. Great show guys, looks fun.

    I'd suggest two things. High lift blades for the mower to throw debris off the track and a grass roller to make the track smoother/stand out better on camera.

  • @Shredxcam22
    @Shredxcam22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    You'll want r1 tires. Especially If you'll be trying to move dirt and material. The tractor is light enough it wont tear up the grass. I drive a 6000+lb tractor on r1s in my yard all the time.
    2nd. 4ft rotary cutter. You barely have enough horse power for one but it will save your mower deck.
    3rd. Fill the tires. You are already low on weight and need all the ballast you can get if you do any loader work. The loader wont have much capacity but stability is nice.

    Long time viewer, first time commenter. Awesome vid. I personally think the cross kart could go for a way bigger set of tires. At least 24" in the rear and 22" in the front. It seems to have the power for it
