  • Bought a 2006 Jimna Iron Horse 224. It was the cheapest tractor with a backhoe and front end loader on craigslist that had no issues. I will get back to making repair videos next week. This tractor is built by the same company who makes Jinma, Farmpro, Nortrac, and Agracat.

I just bought one of these with a dead battery and no attachments for 700 bucks. It runs great, everything works with the new battery. Had a very minor hydraulic leak. But I'm a industrial mechanic so it was pretty easy to trace down the problem and replace the o ring.

The relative higher cost for a tractor versus a simple truck is cause you are buying 3 heavy duty machines in one - a 3 point hydraulic lift system, a power take off, as well as a machine which can pull a plow. With the two soil engaging tools it is a good deal. I would keep it shedded.

Hi, I bought the China Diesel version of Ur tractor new back in 1998, I paid $12,500 delivered to my house in NY. It has served me reliability for the last 20 years. I have used it for digging drainage ditches, plowing snow, digging septic systems, and a lot of rigging around my house, It has about 600hrs on the clock, most of them hard hours... I figured that if the tractor blows up, the loader and backhoe can be moved to another machine.... I think it was one of the best investments that I ever made.... Good luck with Urs....

I have a Chinese tractor too. When you start it cold, HOLD and KEEP the trottle pedal (it is a Diesel engine not gas injection) at 1/4 travel then cycle the glow plugs 10 sec. and try. If it won't start do that sequence again. I prefer doing this as that glow plugs can burn as they become white hot very soon. I could suggest, change ALL fluids as you don't know how it was maintain before. Keep it covered to protect it from the elements as they are prone to get water in oils. Don't use synthetic lubricant as their seals are subject to self destruct while in contact with those oils. Wall Mart 5 gal. Are perfect as they are way better than what they have in China.

I use synthetic oil in my vehicles and lawn equipment. I mostly use Mobile 1 except for the Subaru Bugeye. I use Royal Purple in it. I never use it in my other equipment. I use the appropriate weight Rotella oil. Every thing I've read shows it's the best for diesel engines.

  • @ivanyurkinov

i know its an old post but using the glow plugs for a full 30 seconds eliminates the extended cranking. verify power and their warming up. if you cold start the engine and see grey smoke the fuels washed the rings out and lowered compression. ive found that longer use of the glow plugs eliminates this in temp ranges. it sucks holding it for what seems forever but the time spent is actually less an its better for your engine to not wash the oil off the cylinder walls

That went on until people started noticing how well-made things from Japan actually were. I won't say that Chinese stuff is there YET but it's trending upward. Be careful using that....don't get it in a spot where it might tip on you.

Do yourself a favor specially living up there in the great white North. Get a block heater. Even a magnetic stick on the oil pan or side of the block one is better than nothing.
I just bought a new Branson 4520, 47 horse, with backhoe box blade front end loader 30 grand dilivered has a Cummins engine and I absolutely love it.
To date I have built a 9 foot canopy with front and rear flood lights front and rear fans... I live in Texas you need them... and even a dome light. Built an adjustable armrest for the bucket control, two different brush takes and have started on a copy of a MDS rock bucket with grapple.
I have quickly discovered that owning a tractor is like owning a boat. The initial purchase is just the start of emptying your wallet. There are so many attachments you just got to have.
Enjoy your tractor, take good care of it and perform the proper maintenance when it's due and you will have years of fun with it.
Thanks for posting I thoroughly enjoyed it matter of fact I think I'm going to subscribe.

My Kubota b9200 had a small coil mounted in the dash that would follow red... This was a timing indicator for when the glow plugs we're ready. I believe that I use to cycle the gp for about 45 seconds.

    • @stevej00

Also... Mine and other 3pt backhoes I've seen used a horizontal stiff arm/fixed length top link bolted on the bh (fixed vertically by two bolts) to the top link of the tractor. This makes the bh more of a fixed unit with the tractor. You need it for downward Force leverage on the bh. Other wise when you dig down the bh won't be pushed up. I think the most popular brand they are sold under is nortrac. I buy parts for mine from keno tractors. Steering is easy on this, just hydraulic cylinders

I think you did great, but I'm not an expert. The 4wd will be very useful due to the size and tire tread , will need all the grip you can get. Most people require a hydrostatic tranny, but I'm pretty sure no one can repair those, making the tractor almost disposable. In contrast, many can replace a clutch... so for a knock off brand m, used, a manual would be my preference. When you start making millions, you may tire of the slow hydraulics, small size, and manual, and can upgrade, but until then, sounds like you can do some decent work and make some money with it...

if you cant start out in the gear you select then pick a lower gear. do not slip clutch! never ever use that gas pedal. And you dont pump the pedal when starting a diesel engine. & never use ether ( starting fluid ).
cold start may need 2 or 3 glow plug cycles before you first try to start.
keep that engine full of CLEAN oil&FILTER AND ANTIFREEZE NEW

This is very true I grew up on a ranch in South Dakota have spent most of my life around equipment and farm tractors more people are killed in tractor rollovers from trying to get off the tractor than any other thing that rollover protection system is an amazing piece of equipment they call it a rope system if the tractor tipping over stay in the seat always use your seatbelt if your tractor does not have a rope system definitely look into getting one

( this applys to all engines car truck motor cycle lawn mower semi bulldozer gas or diesel etc

I am thinking 9 or 10 grand. I live in the northeast as well... and shit is crazy over priced up here. Its so over priced up here that I rented a Uhaul trailer and purchased a used Kubota in Ohio. I figure that even with the rental trailer and gas to haul it..... I saved 3 to 5 grand over what tractors are going for here.

Actually that a 7 thousand pound trailer, you have to subtract the weight of trailer from the 7000 as the axles are carry that weight. Witch means it could haul 5000 pounds maxed out, by legal numbers, but I over load mind all the time.
