Hey guys! Remember that there are least a few women watch fanatics here who love both your channels. The Baby G, ref BG169R can be had for $50! 200m, 7 time zones, all the g-shock goodness.. this was the must have of the 90’s and for many of us, along with Swatch, was our gateway drug. I still have and love my very original.. ❤❤
My late dad was presented with a Seiko 5 automatic from Hitachi in 1967.After the first Japanese Turbine instalation on the African Continent at the Athlone Power Station ,Cape Town. That Seiko was still running up until 1994.I think a general service and it would still be working to this day.
Great list! I had to buy the Casio W-217H after watching this video. Also, the genuine excitement you both show while talking about the Invicta is contagious
I am happy to see you both on here together. Your individual passions for watches are exciting to see on your own channels. I respect your unique personalities to watches. Thank you both for doing these videos together.
It's nice to see an episode on less expensive watches. I love the Seiko 5 SNK 809! It was both my first Seiko and my very first automatic watch. Even after two years and a dozen watches, bith automatic and quartz, it still gets a lot of wrist time.
F1_556_ That's not normal. Mine loses about 10 seconds a day. Which is pretty normal for a watch in this price range. You should have a watch repair expert take a look at it. Usually checking the watch out is free. Then, pending on cost of servicing or repair, decide if it's worth it to fix it, forget about it, or buy a new watch.
Me too! It was my baby, and I was fascinated every time I would watch the second hand sweep so smoothly (compared to all my eco-drive quartz watches) then it was my beater for about a year of landscaping/handyman work and now she probably loses a minute or more a day. Where I live the only place that'll service it would charge me about as much as what I paid for it back in the day. Sadly they're not as cheap as they used to be, huh? Hey, maybe one day it'll wind up on my kid's wrist, but I'll have to see how I feel about putting it in that kind of danger ; ) Form what I've read/heard, that watch probably brought more people into the market for automatics than just about any other watch since the 00's.
TGV, I sometimes go out and visit a community of traditional French Benedictines who live in Oklahoma, and you will be pleased to know that they wear F91Ws under their habits. They are modestly priced and durable and good for working in the fields or praying in the choir stalls.
For me, value Casio can’t be beat. I had the early ones, pre g-shock; but in 83 I got a rather physical job and I broke 2-3 watches. I bought a g-shock and what a game changer for me. I wore g-shocks from 84-2018. I still have them, I just just can’t get myself to throw any of them away. They are beat to hell, but they just keep going. I did try and buy the Ironman timex and it broke in a week at work, never again. I have a bunch of Invicta watches, nice looking and feels so nice and you can buy so many at a reasonable price. I’m a bigger guy and I like bigger watches. I stopped wearing watches when I retired. I’m glad to see your list since 95% if not 100% of my watch brands made your list. Casio, Invicta, Swatch and Seiko.
This video was wonderful, guys. In fact it, BLOWS MY MIND, that you guys haven’t done it sooner. All of the pieces you recommended are perfectly suited for someone beginning the watch collecting journey. The Casio DW6900 is also a cracking good piece. If some one is looking for the aesthetics of the DW290 (or can’t find on because TGV bought them all) and wants the GShock specs, I would definitely look at it. Multitudes of colors and spec combos. Also, I would recommend any of the Citizen entry level watches. They are on par with any offering from Seiko and don’t have the quality control issues. You can never go wrong with a Citizen. There is a reason it is the biggest watch company in he world! Thank you both so much for the video. It was enlightening and entertaining, as always. Hope you are both well. Onward and upward!
I picked up the black Casio Duro a few weeks ago on sale for $35 and love how it looks, how easy it is to read, and its usability as a timer. Great list!
Thanks guys for this fun video! At the beginning I thought this would be yet another shopping list video, but thankfully I already own at least 5 of these 10 watches :D
One of the nicest watches I've purchased at under $100 is a Wenger field watch. Victorinox's value brand watch company. They have several models in that range and for the money you get Swiss quartz, sapphire coated glass, and a decent strap.
Just shows what watch collecting fun you can have without breaking the bank. Also, options with a tonne of history. As ever, totally enjoy your vibing off each other. Cannot wait for the collaboration release 🙌
Just got my grail Casio last week. It's a GWG2000 Mudmaster. Love the complications triple sensor and how everything is computer driven. The hands even move out of the way to make it easier to read certain functions
The Invicta Rolex homage is so convincing and that means you have to look closely to discover it's not a real Submariner. That means you're likely to be mugged in the street for an Invicta, which is ironic.
I just picked up an SNKK27 on a whim (A blue and yellow "Speed Racer" Seiko 5) off Amazon because the price dropped to $65 for a bit and have been blown away by it. The dial finishing and quality match some much, much more expensive watches I have. It's got so much personality. Like my DW290 (bought at TGV's recommendation and well loved) it's a testament to the fact that price and worth are not the same thing.
When u guys do something together its always a biggest pleasure to watch. Idk any other ppl on TH-cam, not only around watches, but in general, who got so great chemistry and both so intelligent and just so so nice to watch and listen. Big thanks to you two guys! Casio Marlin is a great value. $60msrp with 200m water resistance and perfect size plus date window. Picked up a couple at Walmart when they were closing their jewelry counter for $11ea!
I got 3 Casio Duros "marlin" for 15$ each .... absolutely a great watch for the money .... I'm actually wearing mine this morning on a seiko jubilee bracelet...
@@richardbosh4522 I've got pretty skinny wrists (alas that the rest of me aint this skinny any more :D ) and the Duro isn't that bad. Yeah it's a big watch but the lugs are pretty short and they turn down, so it doesn't feel as big as it is on the wrist.
Ooooooh!!! I am rather excited for this next watch, CAN'T WAIT!!! Your design language with Marc's design and ability to execute excellent watches is really going to be something!!
I love the hourly casio beep! As a professional poker player it reminds me once an hour to get up from the table and move around to keep my attention, mind & body in peak performance mode. It's especially helpful in 8-12+ hour grind sessions.

Thank you for the video. I picked up the Casio Duro. It’s absolutely everything you need for going out for a run or walk. Great watch to do errands. Thank you…it feels nice and comfortable on the wrist. Great recommendation!!
Awesome video as always. One of my favorite Casio's that is routinely overlooked is the MTP-S120L-3AVCF. It's a solar field watch for under $100 bucks. Stainless steel case and screw down case back, 100m WR, 42mm case with 22mm lugs. Beautiful, brushed, fixed bezel that reflects light quite elegantly. The strap it comes with is garbage but the watch itself looks stellar on Nato straps. I love it.
Wearing the w217h for work lately over the f91w that has been my go to. The bigger display and light are a clincher. Riding on a Infrantry nato and it fits like a glove. Great vid
What a great list! For me personally, I'd add Skagen. I've had a simple Titanium one for over twenty years that has been around the world with me. It gets much less wrist time since I got into collecting watches but ironically it may have gotten more compliments than any of my so called "nice watches" I now own.
Unfortunately, I don't think they're the same now as they were twenty years ago when they were an independent Danish company. They were bought by Fossil in 2012 and in my experience (never owned one but know some who have) the quality isn't great.
@@staceygram5555 they were always "fashion watches" with poor value for the money, originally in 1991 the Jorst couple who founded Skagen played on the fact they were manufactured by a Danish maker, ignoring to mention the other fact that said manufacturer had his whole production made by a Hong Kong subsidiary.
I do get the modding thing. Specially changing bracelet and adding sapphire crystal. For me is like, I like this watch and it clicks with me, so let’s make it perfect for me, usually we all have our favorites go to straps and adding a sapphire crystal is sometimes a great option if you are the type of person and in an environment where banging the watch will be a common occurrence.
Part of the beauty of the 40mm Invicta Pro Diver is that is available in easily 40+ color combinations. There's at least 25 dial colors. Case & bracelet combinations include Stainless Steel, Two-tone, Gold tone, Black, IP Blue and Iridescent. They're now available with color matching canvas straps. These watches are accurate and reliable. At one point in time I had 18 in my collection; all different. Here's a tidbit a lot of people don't know: If the model# ends with "ob", it has a coin-edge bezel. If not, the bezel is scalloped.
Amazing video, it's great to see channels like yours still giving value to Casios when most don't, them being from vintage series or G-shocks, i have to get my hands in one of that G-shock bible, looks amazing.
Love your picks gents. I love my under 100 dollar quartz watches. I love my Timex, Casio G-Shocks. I notice a lot of the lower end watches have plenty of character to them that more expensive watches tend not to have.
As a kid in the 80s, the Ironman Triathlon was my watch. I can't help but smile whenever I see one. In fact when my wife wanted to buy me a watch a few years back, to her horror I picked out an Ironman :)
Sat here watching in the uni dorm. Great video as always, TGV! My first ever watch was a rotary in this price range, I think I got when I was 12. Still have it and wear it. My dad thinks I'm crazy with this watch bug! But, he only wears a blue Skagen on a leather strap. Still works fine after 6 years.
Another excellent video and lovely to meet both of you at the Wind Up Watch Show last weekend too! I love my sub $100 classic G-Shock DW5600E perfect for cleaning those leaves out of the gutter this time of year 🍂 🍁
I got my first mechanical/automatic watch this Xmas from my wife, the 38mm Orient Bambino and I’m absolutely loving it!!! Such astounding value and it looks phenomenal. Looks like a $10K piece. Just wanting a nicer band :)
The Timex Ironman was my second watch ever when I was 7 years old. I still remember the day my parents bought it to me. The 100m water resistance "blown my mind" back then, true story.
Festina is probably a bit harder for Americans to acquire, but if you like smaller, classic and dressier watches, I think you should consider one of them. The Festina Extra 1948 looks a bit like a cheap Chinese 5$ watch at first glance, but it's a really well made beauty once you got it in your hands. Add 50$ if it was another brand. If you like tank style, they have the F20464 from the Classics series. This one is also a really well made beauty and it has a proper two hands movement too. No cheating here.
I have most of these watches already. One to look at too is my latest Casio the w96h. Ultra inexpensive I just got one on sale for £9.99 in Argos. Great functions including dual time and the display is unexpectedly large. Very comfortable. Well worth a look.
Great video! I have almost 100 Casio's in my collection and 80 of them were under $100 AUD. And for me the MDV-106 and 107 Duros are the piece de resistance of the lot👍😍
I have 3 duro’s: $35 for blue, $15 for black & gold & $15 for classic black. The black is my favorite-seconds hand hitting the marks perfectly & rotating bezel having no play whatsoever. I put an orange silicone band on for awhile, but went back to the black resin strap for the diver look instead of looking more like a fashion watch. I don’t see why so many people have a problem with the stock resin band? I find it perfectly comfortable & I feel a diver watch should be on this type of band since it’s supposed to be exposed to water. 🔥
This video was a gem for sure you haven't done a under 100 bucks video in a while so it was great to see and the show case of watches is always icing on the cake on a lazy Sunday night and and Marc are great as always.
My favorite watch under $100 is the Seiko 5 SNXS73. That model is very special to me as it was my very first automatic watch and I bought it back when I was 15 with my own money. If there's one watch that started this hobby for me, that was it.
Bloody excellent choice, that dial and scale of it too. What a cool watch to buy at 15, I had no clue at that age! Very cool Alex, Thank you my friend, Best regards, TGV
@@theurbangentry To be fair, TGV, I had no clue either back then. All I remember was learning that "automatic" meant no batteries needed, and that I really enjoyed the sweeping seconds hand. It wasn't until years later that I really dug into how they even work 😂
I like each one of your videos. Very much educating and entertaining. I hope you pull up some of Invicta pro divers. I have bought one actually after watching one of your videos and Im very happy with it. I also bought another 1957 and put it on nato and then leather strap. All great. Keep it going. I'm watching each one of your videos.
Excellent video as usually. Really professional reviews on cool watches. Your the reason I went out and bought a few nice watches like the Max Bill watch
As usual, enjoyed the vid with the both of you. A few years ago I had the SNK809 on the bracelet. I don't recall if it was a video by Marc but, someone posted a video featuring the 809 & the 3 other colors on straps. I posted a comment that the 809 was available on a bracelet as I had one and provided the part #.
i picked up a Casio F-91W at my walmart on clearance for $2. gold plastic, black face with gold text, black plastic band. my first watch as a 21 year old
Great conversation! Love your dynamic. Thanks for sharing!!! By the way, my go-to "beater/everyday" watch is a Bertucci for certain!! (I have 4 of them, 2 of which are titanium with ceramic). That would be on list of 5 for sure (and a DW-5600 G-Shock for sure!). Thanks again.
Who made the watch that Ted Danson wore on Cheers? I’ve seen that question asked before, but no one seems to know what brand and model it is. The white dial, rose gold wristwatch with the large clasp just on the top. Very unique but an eye catcher.
I have a G Shock 5600 I purchased in the mid 80’s and it’s still working. It has a metal case and metal screw down case back. I had a little trouble finding the right battery and the outer case is kind of brittle and missing a couple of small pieces but it still works. I keep in the bathroom now.
Drat! I've done it now. You guys have caused me to purchase the hideous Casio from Mission Impossible... But lovely video, I really enjoyed your dynamic together and the list in general. Thanks!
32:05 Italian speakers, I've been wondering forever what TGV says when says that. I speak Spanish and French so it sounds something like nugget of gold but I can't figure out what it is he says. Thanks in advance.
Just a brilliant 'down to earth' review on some amazing and affordable 'bargain basement watches', I have a modded Invicta Pro Diver with the Miyota movement and just love it, please keep these co-lab videos coming!
One thing I love about the casio f91w is that for the Ballon D'or award ceremony a few years ago. All the football players were wearing RM's, Rolexes, AP, Pateks, pick your brand... Robert Lewandowski was wearing a casio f91w gold plated for about £50. And made more of a statement than a different footballer who might have been wearing an Uber Complication with bells and whistles, with an alert to tell you to stop wiping. Just, a casio. factory gold plated strap.. **chefs kiss**
when I was in the R.A.F in the 80's I went through a few of the Casio F-87W watches which were a favourite on Station because we used to get them free at a local Petrol Station if we bought £10 of Petrol. They were good watches
As someone who is trying to not purchase anymore expensive watches as I don’t wanna get into debt anymore this video is a blessing!!!
interesting about Bertucci.
First here, thanks to my Seiko. It always runs fast.

TUG got me into watches by recommending Seiko many years back, saving for my collection but he saved me from the fashion house watch pain!
So happy to hear, thank you for sharing that, enjoy your Seikos!
Best regards,
TGV
Another excellent video and lovely to meet both of you at the Wind Up Watch Show last weekend too! I love my sub $100 classic G-Shock DW5600E perfect for cleaning those leaves out of the gutter this time of year 🍂 🍁
🙌🙌🙌
Always a pleasure,
Thank you my friend!
Best regards,
TGV
I enjoyed this content. These less costly watches are still quite interesting.
I have most of these watches already. One to look at too is my latest Casio the w96h. Ultra inexpensive I just got one on sale for £9.99 in Argos. Great functions including dual time and the display is unexpectedly large. Very comfortable. Well worth a look.
Seiko 5 I bought for $49 on Amazon in 2014 is now $150! Wish I had bought more back then.....
Casio G-Shock forever. My go to toolwatch when I’m out and about or don’t want the little ones to scratch up my mechanical watches.
I would like to buy a nato strap and the metal protective bar for my GW-M561OU ( like dw5600). What do you recomend?
I've bought more than one of the same watch before a few times because I liked them so much.
The watch nerd level in that room was full 100 and I'm here for it
Timestamps would have been so great!
Great video! I have almost 100 Casio's in my collection and 80 of them were under $100 AUD. And for me the MDV-106 and 107 Duros are the piece de resistance of the lot👍😍
eikes. How many wrists do you have? Right one. So what's the point of having 100 useless watches? lmao
@@jankay8569 Man, if you weren't a penis I'd bother responding to your nonsense. But clearly you are so I won't..
@@jankay8569 its a sickness that you can be thankful you don't have. Lmao
@@jankay8569 I mean most people have two lol
Very cool Alex,
Thank you my friend,
Best regards,
TGV
@@theurbangentry To be fair, TGV, I had no clue either back then. All I remember was learning that "automatic" meant no batteries needed, and that I really enjoyed the sweeping seconds hand. It wasn't until years later that I really dug into how they even work 😂
I love the original Casio Calculator watch. Only $20, thin, light, nerd cool, Back To The Future, Breaking Bad… ICONIC.
Fantastic Episode... Much more of these .. YES PLEASE
Classy choice my friend, a Ma Bill is a true icon, nothing be good taste. 👏👏👏
Thank you John, stay stylish my friend.
Best regards,
TGV
As always love your content and you and Mark..also those openings are awesome
Much respect for both of their opinions. Based my collection on these two guys.
As usual, enjoyed the vid with the both of you.
A few years ago I had the SNK809 on the bracelet. I don't recall if it was a video by Marc but, someone posted a video featuring the 809 & the 3 other colors on straps. I posted a comment that the 809 was available on a bracelet as I had one and provided the part #.
i picked up a Casio F-91W at my walmart on clearance for $2. gold plastic, black face with gold text, black plastic band. my first watch as a 21 year old
These videos are very cool, keep them coming
Great conversation! Love your dynamic.
Thanks for sharing!!!
By the way, my go-to "beater/everyday" watch is a Bertucci for certain!! (I have 4 of them, 2 of which are titanium with ceramic).
That would be on list of 5 for sure (and a DW-5600 G-Shock for sure!).
Thanks again.
The Casio W217-H was my first watch. Still wear it, and still love it!!! Incredible watch
The editing at 9:25 and 23:25 is absolute comedy gold. Keep these vids coming!
Who made the watch that Ted Danson wore on Cheers? I’ve seen that question asked before, but no one seems to know what brand and model it is. The white dial, rose gold wristwatch with the large clasp just on the top. Very unique but an eye catcher.
I remember having the Casio TV remote watch with IR as a kid and walking by people's home changing their channel for them. Good times. lol
Thank you for giving the invicta pro diver some love
Thumbs up for the Alien sounds effects in the opening!
The absolute best watch duo on the internet. 👏 And you guys got me hooked on Casios and I can't thank you enough 😛
Agreed
The intro was great! Totally TGV style. Fun video with Islander I’m thinking the war room is needing a refresh though.
I have a G Shock 5600 I purchased in the mid 80’s and it’s still working. It has a metal case and metal screw down case back. I had a little trouble finding the right battery and the outer case is kind of brittle and missing a couple of small pieces but it still works. I keep in the bathroom now.
That Sportsmatic tip was the gem of the show. Now that's something worth getting.
Sorry, I was saying "Capolavoro", in Italian it means "masterpiece". Thank you, I hope that helps.
Best regards,
TGV
Blows my mind!!! Btw, yeah, that Abalone monster sold out months ago! 😂
Just a brilliant 'down to earth' review on some amazing and affordable 'bargain basement watches', I have a modded Invicta Pro Diver with the Miyota movement and just love it, please keep these co-lab videos coming!
Great video. I love the Marlin, Invicta is unbelievable value for your dollar, but as always SEIKO IS KING !!!
Great video as always! Informative, and tons of fun. Keep up the good work TGV & Marc!

TGV, do you know how can I find what movement does my swatch have and it's accuracy and specs?
I have this exact Bertucci for more than 6 years already and I must say it is amazing. Very durable and very accurate.
Well researched and presented, thank you for posting this interesting video.
Your editing and production is so cool!!!
when I was in the R.A.F in the 80's I went through a few of the Casio F-87W watches which were a favourite on Station because we used to get them free at a local Petrol Station if we bought £10 of Petrol. They were good watches
