Thanks for speaking so openly about your struggles and the suggestion to lean on the people you love, and calling it a gift for them too. It was beautiful 👏
It's ben quite inspiring to follow your journey over the last number of years. So glad to see you back in a solid place. I know many people (including myself) will benefit massively from seeing an example like yours. Cheers
I had saved this one for whenever I would have time to wind down and watch it properly. Totally worth it. What a beautiful piece of story telling. Taking the time to understand and share your story, exposing yourself, being transparent, open, and caring about your own performance in life and racing was refreshing and so enjoyable to watch. Keep it up Katie! You continue to inspire many, many more everyday, myself included. 🙌🙏
Depression and concussion make awful bedfellows. So glad to see you on the up and up, looking after yourself and surrounding yourself with the right kinds of people. Good luck getting on a team for next year, but hey, there's always painting!
I think this problem is something that needs to be talked about. I would bet your video is a great help for others. Thank you so much for being this open and bring up metal health in sports. I hope you find a new Team thats fits you well and is as supportive as GT in your darker times!!
TH-cam recommends some great, heartfelt videos from time to time and this is one of those, thank you Katy for opening up, makes me realise that i'm not alone with my struggles!
Rad! That’s so cool! Thanks for the kind words. It’s great to hear too, it’s the reason I try to be as open as possible so people feel less alone! Thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing your struggles. I've been home for 3 weeks recovering from a big crash and asking myself a lot of existential questions. Your story gives me hope that better days will come.
what an interesting watch, you see so much about the podiums, the racing and the push to be top. But you don't hear about the mental strain and the need to release so much pressure of burn out. Balance in all things is so key, too much of a tip to one side for so long is catastrophic. Cool to see you slowly getting back to normal and enjoying the climb.
Fantastic film, been following you since your Trek days and has been an incredible journey, it has been a long and hard process for you but I'm happy that the "rebuilding" is going strong... the best of luck for this 2024 season..
Hi Katy. My partner and I watched your bike packing trip. I'm a keen biker and my partner less no. We were both glued to the screen. We genuinely loved the video and the way it was filmed. Honesty, fun, brutality, struggle, success, possitivity....it has it all. And good luck with the sponsors. You're a great ambassador for the sport and you send a positive message about looking after your mental health.
Aw I’m so stoked to hear this! Thanks for sharing, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Took a while to put it altogether so really appreciate the comment! And thank you, much appreciated 😊
Good to hear you’re in a better mindset and I’m sure a sponsor will turn up for 2024. Will we see another “Katy & Joe go bike packing” trip this winter?
Really I get you as your inner heart is crying for help. You do this for a living but this is not all yr life, so whatever you do in future I wish you all the best, racing or not. Also tell Joe I missed his racing action too🥇🥇🥇
Good luck Katy for this new stage that is coming in your life, it will surely be something very good since you are a fighter and your efforts will be rewarded. All the best!!!!
You've been become one of my fave MTB personalities. Really enjoy every time you've been on Downtime Podcast. This is a great video. I appreciate your openness here.
For me you're the most amazing mtb rider out there, so genuine, so open, so cool! Really hope you the best not only for the 2024, but for 25,26,27... Thank you K!. ❤
I’ve been through my own struggles especially with mental health almost in tears watching the beginning of this so glad you’ve got on top of things so happy for you. 😃
Not too sure what to say, but i just really enjoyed this video, so honest. Huge amounts of good luck going forward Katy! I’m sure you’ll be racing with a smile on your face in 2024! All the best😊 🏴
Serendipity. Only the other day I was thinking 'I wonder if Katy Winton has posted up another update video on her racing?' as really enjoyed the first set and hadn't heard much recenntly. This morning this pops up in my feed. Great video!
Love this. Props for being so open and honest about your experiences. I think there’s a lot of people, in all walks of life experiencing this after the last few years. We need more people to talk about this and use the people around you to help.
Thank you! I totally agree, the deep affects of covid are still very much to be felt, as you say in all walks of life. We need to be there for each other now more than ever! 😊
Amazing video! Hate that a lot of riders are experiencing uncertainty for sponsors and teams for next year. Any team should be happy to have katy on board !
It’s a real shame to see Enduro as a discipline in the state it’s in too. You have a great set of people, fired up and ready to race and the calendar for 24 offers less opportunities for those people. We all know the bike industry is in a pickle, but to me the organisation of the EDR isn’t helping either….
Great video. We often look at pro cyclists and think yeah they have such a great life, when in reality, cycling is their job and just like a person sitting in a office all day, they can get burnt out from it and suffer mentally. Hopefully you can get a new ride for 24 and kick on from 23 👍
I always find it quite astonishing that a female rider with consistent top 10 or top 20 results has to put the effort in to find sponsors. Your male counterparts with similar results would not have this problem. Keep enjoying the riding Katy (and the painting).
Well at the moment the industry is crapping its pants and teams are folding left right and centre, so gender aside there is little to no options for anyone!
Gutted for you at how this video ended. Hopefully the chorus lyrics of this Scottish bands song help add to your motivation ❤. Your Day Will Come 🥁🥁🥁 th-cam.com/video/PzCZEIqezJg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3ADTV-b-USaKiOYo
Fear not my friend, in-line with your definition, an enduro racer is a mountain biker as we do ride up and down the hills. However, I see “mountain biker” as a more global term before jumping into specifics 😁
Thanks for speaking so openly about your struggles and the suggestion to lean on the people you love, and calling it a gift for them too. It was beautiful 👏
Thank you! Now more than ever we need to look after each other 💝

Thanks you and thanks for following along over these years! That’s great to hear, I hope so, we really wanted this story to help people 😊

@@KatyWinton thank you. Best of luck securing a new sponsor for next season!

Balancing life and goals and how to overcome or cope with that balance is very relatable, biking or otherwise! You earned a new subscription 😁

A tricky tricky time to be an enduro racer for sure!

I think I camped next to you in France this summer!!!
Haha in Samoens?!!
@@KatyWinton yessss I thought it was you

Exactly! You’ve nailed it. We are all human :) thank you!
Just because you ride a bike like a super human, everyone has a limit, good to see you in a better place 🤘

GT seem like a great company in there support for mtb, they seem more interested in the people like Wyn Masters, and their support for privateers.
Yes they are! They’re all about people 😊

Spot on 🥁 haha 👌 thanks!!
Hold up! Mountain biker means going up and down. I think you mean a down hill biker!
