  • I’ve instituted some Paul Bertholy and Moe Norman ideas into the swing. The whole purpose of this first session is to find face center and repeat a square sole line

Your driver sounds like a rocket going off. That contact is pure.

As we train I’ll be raising swing and ball speeds. It’s important however to start out just concentrating on pure contact.
In the next session I’ll also be adjusting angle of attack to better suit launch.

Nice... Michael, what was your average driver distance?

I wasn’t going for distance Charles as I’ll show you as we train. It was 250 or so most likely. I’m capable of a 315 drive still with the right conditions on a real course but rarely would try that. My last round just 2 weeks ago I drove a green of that length with an helping wind.
On these machines I can get 290 or more if I push it. I’ll show that as we build speed training with the One.
This particular exercise was strictly face control for accuracy.
This is more important than anything else if you want to break par on a regular basis.
Count how many times that 8i was in tour range. In fact it was much better. Zoom in and you’ll be able to see all the exact numbers. Even down to the foot. Trackman is something else.
Moe Norman truly knew what he was doing as well. Once it’s understood and felt it’s like riding a bike.
Measuring is also key so you can adjust.

Hi Mike. Is this still c motion? I notice you set up with club head quite far back from the ball, any benefit to this? Thanks

No this is some Moe Norman setup tricks. He and Hogan would set the club back to shorten the arc. Less chance for getting off plane in backswings. It really works…
There’s common elements in all methods.
I’m currently working on mimicking Hogan. I like trying to find out if any one method or practice is better. So far they all have differences but at impact everyone of them looks almost the same.
I still say start. With the use of the tool. Learn to lean it and hit the club face center. Then repeat repeat repeat…….
