I think the reason your videos are the best, is because you show 360 degrees of how the body moves in relation to the area of focus you're lecturing on. For that, thumbs up on the video; and now I am a permanent subscriber
At last, a proper video explaining the contact point. I went out the day after watching this video and hit fantastic irons on every hole. This has transformed my golf. My balance has improved and I'm swinging easier, not trying to max my power. Thank you!!!
Thank you for this master-stroke drill and golf tip. I applied it today and I was able to hit crisp iron shots and tee shots to shoot a gross of 36 over 9 holes.
Really outstanding presentation of a move i spent years trying to discover from watching my favorite players. Perfect looking swing too! I was most obsessed with Freddie Couples swing, which is how I ultimately discovered it. But it took years bc this was before youtube and stuff 🤓 It allows me to feel like I'm swinging as hard as I naturally want without the hips ever firing too quick. And it just makes for the prettiest looking and most relaxing swing and finish. Oh edit! Just finished video and see you even mentioned Couples as an example! Fantastic and subscribed!
This video was incredible. Definitely a big mental break through being able to see you break down this piece i've never thought enough about as someone who has problems clearing and getting through the shot.
I have been trying to do this for years, the more I concentrate on this feel the more I hit a massive slice. No matter what I try I can’t get it. Great video as usual 👍
Nice video! Nicklaus revisited his rolling the feet footwork drill every year prepping for the new golf season. I agree with your comments about Justin Thomas's swing. It's not a swing that can last, in fact, his form has dropped off a lot this year and he has probably eliminated himself from the Ryder Cup.
@@CraigHansonGolf Hi. There are several nice courses at 20 minutes from Brussels : L’Empereur, 7 Fontaines, and the most beautiful (also my club 😊) Château de la Tournette. Also great courses close to Antwerp : Rinkven, Cleydael. And at the belgian coast : Royal Zoute. I wish you already welcome to Belgium.
Another excellent video! One question about Mr Nicklaus' swing. On his irons, he did exactly how you explained it, but didn't he also push hard off his left leg to get his hip out of the way. If you look, he usually fell back/took step back after he finished. Thanks
No he has the ball forward and has a large lateral shift….you don’t have to push hard off the left leg? .. i think that’s all over the internet these days. You can have a bent left leg at impact
Hey Craig wondering if you'd do a shortgame analysis on Cam Smith at all? Your analysis is just the best to watch and Cam's technique seems so unique, how he maintains such a strong right hand grip without closing the face down, he doesn't use wide stance in bunkers, he gets the club exiting so far left, If not, that's ok 😆
i would love to do more short game stuff i have l have limited time And unfortunately a lot of short game videos seem to flop i will do something coming up … thanks for the feedback 👍
When you shift your weight, do you feel like there's more pressure on your lead foot, and you sort of fall towards the target by bending your lead knee, or do you feel like you have control of the pressure more on your trail foot, and you push from your trail side while bending your lead knee and transition your weight by pushing off the trail side onto your lead side, instead of falling?
An easy way for me to feel this is to feel like my right elbow stays into my body… really helps promote striking ball than grass and really helps promote a repeatable on plane swing that helps with compression
I wasted years trying to contact the golf ball on a consistent basis. My wife who doesn't golf told me one day as I was banging balls on the range that I was standing too far from the ball. So I moved closer and the ball started to go on line and I got more distance. Because I was closer to the ball I found I had to move the golf ball farther ahead. I tried that and was amazed that I didn't hit behind the ball. After a while I discovered that I felt cramped on my forward swing. I was still wanting to keep my right arm away from my body. By mistake I made a conscious effort to keep my right arm closer to my body and magically my right arm came on contact with my right hip. My swing path couldn't go anywhere but carried through the ball and I could hardly feel the contact as the ball streaked away right down my target line. On the driver I began to see drives at 260 to 275 yards when before all I got were slices and 200 yards. Here is my bottom line. I keep my lower body still, left hand flat, right elbow to my right hip, maintain the feeling that I am hitting the ball from the inside and enjoying the results.
So just over 1.0-1.5mins on a clock face... that’s almost imperceptible visually. Not saying that’s wrong ( and I know body rotation gives a false shaft lean look) but traditional tuition usually shows hands way in advance of ball approximating 7.5 minutes ( 45 degrees) of shaft lean. I’d love to know how quickly the exaggerated lean disappears from a few inches before impact to a few inches after.
@@CraigHansonGolf tried this move on the course yesterday, got flush connection a few times with irons that have not experienced for long time! Need to practice it a lot more obviously. Fantastic videos, i will be signing up to the platform.
Man i just had a lesson yesterday and the instructor said i move down too much and had me feel like i stay tall to create less shaft lean... to be fair i am presenting too much shaft lean with my long irons and cant get them high enough into the air ... would you go about that differenly? I naturally move down and towards the target with my pivot but he wants me to change that and stay tall to present more loft at impact
I would have to see your swing before i made any comments. Written tips in youtube comments areas is not the way to do it. I teach lots of pros and top amateurs online. WorldClassGolf.com
Great vid. I really don’t think JT is good example of proper fort/leg work. He’s just a freak and has honed in on his swing (as far as we know). I really think his legwork is now paying a price on his performance because of his knee moving toward the ball VS. the target
They're standing up because they're running out of room and they feel that they will hit the ground behind the ball. There's something else going on that's causing it. As far as their minds go, if they go lower, they will definitely hit the ground behind the ball. I suspect it's because they aren't raising the left shoulder high enough heading into impact while keeping the head down.
Don't understand how you can move forward without moving your head forward. Some even have their head move backward during the downswing. In the end it seems there are people who play golf while the rest of us hit shots randomly around the golf course.
When your left shoulder extends it prevents the head moving forwards. On WorldClassGolf.com we have a complete series on this. It’s called the separation series. I can also you online and teach hundreds of people.
I think this swing stuff is too difficult for amateurs. Just focus on contact, getting the ball first then turf with a good shape divot. Your swing will naturally compensate to a reasonable position.
That’s ridiculous.. so all information should stop .. just focus on ball ground everyone ??? No more videos please! Just ball ground.. that’s it! - Stop everything everyone we have the secret . Ball ground

It almost look closed at impact?

Hi, how much shaft lean at address do you advise especially for the short irons . Is there any measurements of tour players at set up. Thanks
7-9 Degrees 👍👍
