That is a great looking watch, probably the best looking 4th gen IMO. I would be all over this but I have a Manta Ray and Khaki Auto to pay off first. :(
It absolutely is the best 4th gen and maybe best monster imo. tough call between this and the coral blue 3rd gen.
Some so called higher tier brands could learn a lot from seiko on dial manufacture and design. Very cool piece.
Had mine for a week now, it's stunning, find myself constantly turning it to make the penguin footprints catch the light!

Seiko can release a monster anytime they want and sell ten thousand of them. They’re pretty much the only prospex watch that you can’t find readily available anywhere you want. I know some of them are kinda funky colors but when the put a dial like this on one it will sell out everywhere.
I purchased this monster least week here in Australia it cost me $590 australian dollars which is $433 USD so looks like us aussie's are getting a good deal for once

The first seiko monster that i like a lot
Got this one a week ago and out of all my Seikos (Turtle, Sumo, 63MAS, Cpt. Willard, Tuna, Alpinist and a few more 🤣) this one grabbed me in the store. Everything about it draws me in - the dial colour and the bezel combo is amazing. And those penguins steps are amazing. I wonder, though, how it would look with the older triangle hour marks.

I went to a local Seiko AD yesterday to buy the new limited edition Marine Master reduced with green dial and black bezel but I noticed this new Monster and I told the salesman I want the monster instead. I’m thrilled 😁 with this watch 👍🏻💯
Ordered one today for $262. Have five or six older Monsters. Find myself gravitating to Save The Ocean editions having added one each mini Tuna, Turtle and Samaria models in the past three years. Good review.

@@hrvojesoric2270 third party vendors on Amazon sometimes have a real deal. They never last long and you have to check that the vendor has good reviews. I tend to avoid ones in Brooklyn after experiencing bat and switch in the past.
Fantastic looking watch indeed it is just the bracelet with the super challenging to handle pins that makes size adjustments a nightmare. Wish it would come with screwed pins.
Surprisingly, this is probably my favourite Monster so far, just love this dial. 👏❄️

that dial is the last view of the penguin in the mouth of the monster. his footprint on icy surface
Why do you prefer a clear AR sapphire crystal replacement versus a blue one? Would blue AR coating wash out some of the blue on the dial?
The clear looks cleaner and more like a high definition crystal. Blue when done badly like most aftermarkets looks cheap and yes can wash out the dial. But on a blue dial its not so bad makes it a bit more blue which you may like.
Stunning looking watch, but the QC department still leaves a lot of things to be desired. I went to get this model in a local official retailer's store and it had almost every QC issue possible. A grossly misaligned bezel, landing between the markers, the cyclops was positioned much too high, almost 1mm and a bit crooked, and huge gaps between both end links and the case. I truly hope they start to address these things, so one can buy a Seiko online with confidence.

I Wintered Over at McMurdo 87-88 and saw lots of penguins so this watch really catches my interest.
The part that I love to the watch is I can view it as penguins, or dinosaurs or even moon creatures 😆. I love the imagination.

Subtle but favorite dial update-- slimmed-down, retangular hour indices vs. previous gens (oblong, fat at top tapering down..or toothlike), really dresses up/softens the dial

My two favourite things: Antarctica and watches. Looks like I am going to have a new watch on the way.
What a fun watch. I haven't had much luck with the monster bracelet though. Fit very uncomfortable for me. 😕

I bought the ‘frost monster’….crazey deal, and will probably flip it. I have the orange monster gen 1(Permanent keep her within my collectionI) have traveled to Japan no less than 20 times. I’ve purchased a “J” watch almost every time I’ve been there. I know this may be unpopular, however, every time I see ‘save the ocean’…I have trouble with balancing that when I’m in a restaurant that has shark fin soup. Thanks for the review!

I just noticed that seiko still havent updated the monster dial to have a lumed marker on the 3 oclock position. I dont know how will they manage to pull that off with a chapter ring like this.
It will most likely be just a date at 430 and have a lumed indices at 3
they've done it on baby tuna, it's a bummer that they didn't do it on monster

hamish same size as me. check near the end of the video for how it wears on my wrist. camera makes it look a tad larger then in person tho. I think it's doable.

The bezel is misalinged on this one, I can tell straight away. The 12 oclock marker is off to the right. Terrible QC.
Only thing holding these back is the movement which is the same as the cheaper 5kx. And its double the price

The only reason I have never purchased on is the cyclops. Such an eyesore and actually makes reading the watch more difficult.

best 4th gen monster for sure. Finally something without a coated bezel. Hopefully they will bring back an orange version or other colors like the jade and coral as in Gen 3.
