Chief Knows Podcast #6: Arnold Narzo of Kalis Ilustrisimo

Arnold Narzo of Kalis Ilustrisimo ("Blades of Ilustrisimo") is the torch bearer of the world renowned Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) discipline . He talks about the history of Kalis Ilustrisimo from its Grand Master Antonio "Tatang" Ilustrisimo, Tony Diego and how the discipline was passed down to him today as its Chief Instructor.
He tells the epic origins of Kalis Ilustrisimo from stories handed down through generations of Kalis Ilustrisimo students and from his own personal experience and observation being the "Tungkod" of GM Antonio "Tatang" Ilustrisimo and as the most dedicated student of another great Tony Diego.
Up to this day, he continues the tradition of teaching the Martial Arts discipline of Kalis Ilustrisimo in Luneta (Temporarily moved to Arroceros Park due to the pandemic) where the discipline was nurtured and taught in its original form, unaltered for decades.

I met Tatang a long time again at Luneta where he would hang out. I lived in San Miguel near Malacanang so it was quite near.
Tatang would usually just took "jeepneys" to go to Luneta. Tatang mentioned that once someone tried to rob him on a jeepney so he took his knife out and took a bit of finger from the thief.
He offered to teach me but I was eager to leave the Philippines at that time and I thought he was too old already! I do wish I took him up on his offer.
Anyway, I just wanted to share an anecdote so I'm not the only one who will know about it.
