    Illustrisimo was the most feared man in the Philipines and of course the blade is taught first

    I think what your channel helps show the world is that studying martial arts is a form of studying anthropology.

    I really rate any martial artist which talks about 'distance control' and 'entries' at various distances eminently more practical than those who don't use this lexicon.

    Latosa Escrima practitioner since 1998, cross trained in PTK, but believe Illustrisimo school of FMA to be the most combat efficient tier 1 FMA school.
    Illustrisimo school is Strongly influenced by La Destreza school of espada y daga.

    Thats how the Escrimadors learned first but the Spanish outlawed knives and bolos. So the Pinoys practiced with sticks. Then people, many years later, thought it was a stick art

    I Train Pekiti-Tirsia Kali and I have a huge amount of respect for Antonio Ilustrisimo's amazing skill, his legacy, and the practitioners of his art. There's alot of overlap between KI and some of the systems within PTK from what I've seen.

    For edge weapon like the bolo and sword, kali illustrisimo is effective, for sticks ,balintawak and lightning scientific arnis are good, for knife, sayoc kali is king.grappling with weapons kuntao silat is much practical than bjj

    What kind of blade is Master Narzo using?

  • @Gieszkanne
    @Gieszkanne ปีที่แล้ว +3

    From what I have seen most arts who use the term "Kali" are more blade orientated like Sayoc or Pekiti Tirsia for example. But using the blade from the beginning is kind of unique.

      Are you one of those that gets iffy when people say stuff about "Kali"?

    • @dhalav
      @dhalav ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not Kali here but Kalis meaning "blade" or "sword" so Kalis Ilustrisimo could be translated as Ilustrisimo's Blade
