I have Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) - formally known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). The condition affects my right hand & arm. It originally started in my thumb after being bitten by my cat. I had multiple severe infections which required a total of 16 operations in the space of 18 months. (My profile picture includes photos). I really feel for Cynthia. CRPS is such a cruel condition. The constant debilitating pain is unbearable. My old life is gone. I’m now disabled, unable to work & reliant on Morphine, Fentanyl & Pregabalin just to get through each day. I’m lucky to have support from my family, friends & my boyfriend. John is such an incredible person, CRPS can be very isolated & lonely, I’m so glad Cynthia found relief & I hope she’s still in remission 🧡
Oh John is a saint. How awful it is to be in pain constantly and with nothing to treat it. It is infuriating that some doctors don’t believe that disorder is real
The question that is asked in all of the episodes is "why it took so long to get an answer" For me the question should be "why didn't any one believe me. Also why is it when the medical profession can not figure out what is wrong they always blame the patient or parents implying things like they are exaggerating the symptoms, they wants attention or even Munchhausen's, even though test prove that there is something amiss. I would be so frustrated that with them already thinking mental health problems my actions would prove the right. If it was my child I would fight till the end of the world but if it were me I would just give up and endure.
The fact that doctor said the boy wouldnt get so sick if the mother didn't make a big deal about it just shocked me like what kind of doctor says that id be furious😮
I'm sorry "when he gets a cold: put him on an antibiotic and he'll be fine" I mean it's not some closely guarded secret that colds are caused by viruses is it?
Antibiotics only go so far. you cannot stay on antibiotics for the rest of your life. what is causing its a question about the medical profession there was something clearly wrong but what did they do, blame the mother.
This is an old documentary. All the way up until the beginning of the century, researchers didn't know that antibiotics only worked on bacteriae. I remember watching countless adds about how antibiotics "aren't automatic" when they were trying to have people not use them anymore.
@@Babyadultskater fair point, I only learned very recently that people didn't know this about antibiotics. So I assume I made my comment thinking they had another type of misinformation I don't really expect normal people to know how this stuff works even today, I think I mostly was just surprised that no doctor informed them (if I remember the video correctly, it has been a while and I don't have time to rewatch it as of writing this). I haven't slept properly for years now. Also have landed myself in numerous ambulances and ERs because the pain has caused tachycardia and hypertension stage 3 on me. We can only hope one day cures can be found. Pretty much everything I have hasn't got a cure.
