My oldest sister died of cancer. Before passing she requested this song and a couple others be played at her funeral. I made a cd that was played during the service. Afterwards i put it in her coffin so she can hear it play in Heaven. I miss you sis and think of whenever i hear this song.

My wife and I lost our daughter ,son in law ,2 grandsons due to auto accident March 4 2011 shortly before 4:00am. Y’all are the wind beneath our wings. Brandy was 30 yrs young son in law was 31, grandson Kendall was 9 Gavin was 6 yrs young. Lot of tears shed. We have a void in our hearts. We will see them in heaven! Keep the faith, don’t give up!! God will never leave are forsake you.
My Mum chose this song at my Granddads funeral, as I've got older I appreciate it more and more. Thank you Bette. When I saw you perform live in Manchester I balled my eyes out like a baby when I heard you sing this song.

I've been a Bette Midler fan for more than 45 yrs, from her early appearances on Johnny Carson. I've been affected by many of her songs. This one, however, is special to me because of a very special woman in my life. Sheila & I have been friends since the moment we first met in Miami 41 yrs ago. She is such an amazing person, kind, loving, caring, funny - her laughter fills the room. She is my soul mate & I am so blessed, so lucky, to have Sheila in my life. She is very, very ill, some days unable to get out of bed, but still has such a zest for life. She is my hero, my soul mate, my friend. Sheila, you ARE the Wind Beneath My Wings.

Ms. Midler, wind b e each wings came out the same yr, my eldest son accidentally drowned, that song kept me going, he was t weny-eight, not old, not young. But I did not regain myself for almost 10 years. I have always admired you from the first moment I heard you.

My mom turned 85 in April. She has dementia that is rapidly getting worse. Family hasn't been able to visit her and my dad at the Health Care Facility where they live since early March. Mom and Dad have been the best parents in the world. I have always thought of my mom when I listen to this song. She is and will always be my hero. I had to listen to this tonight. It sucks every bit of machoness right out of me as the tears roll down my face. "I love you mom! God Bless You, you are the wind beneath my wings."
