- This is a tutorial of how you have to change the Cylinder of a derbi senda or Aprilia SX. Ofcourse there are many ways how to do this but this is how i do it!

This tutorial is made with a new type engine, the old one is different but the basic is the same.

im about to change cylinder to a barikit racing 70cc, do i have to like use a tool to like make the space bigger between the cylinder and the crankshaft or is that unnecessary?

I changed today the original cylinder to a 70cc and with new sealing on the cylinder head, and tightened it really good, its still leaking coolant near the screws and around the seal. Any advice?

hi ive just fit a 70cc big bore kit on a aprilia sx 50 and im' confused as to were the coolent pipes go and pipes to the new carb also .do you need to change the o ring at top of the head or can you use one off the 50 head
I never used the coolant pipes to the carburator. I've always quit them off, because they are not really nessesary. About the o-ring, I would change it to a new one if you have the availability to. If not, I do not see any problems with using a 50cc one.
I had done everything you did but found water leaking were o ring and plug were any ideas as to why

Hi I've done this to my Derbi and when I top it up with water it drips abit from the bottom of the hose on the head and the coolent level goes down really quick any idea what to do with this ?is this any method to fill all the coolent level up or something ,I was also thinking of cutting the hose down a little just in case there was a little tear in it
Buy a new hose or cut a piece of the end or tight the hose clamp more. How you fill up the cooling system depends on if you have a thermostat in your cylinderhead.
Simsonnnnn tried cutting down the hose and it isn't that and also put 2 clamps on the hose so that's all fine,I'm not sure if I have a thermostat in my head or not how would I tell ?

Hey guys! I've heard people talk about that the crankarm can brake with higher ccs cylinder. Should I replace it with a strenghtened one or not necessary? If it needs to be replaced you have to tare down the engine to do that right? Thank you!
Depends on what 70 or higher if higher then 70 u should but if not it can work

Mollie tol you just take the hose out from the top of the cooler and then you pour the liquid in there

I would take it off. It's simple and can protect a lot of trouble if it doesn't work.
Simsonnnnn Yeah, I had the same tought. But to remove it, do I simply just disconnect the oil tank and oil pump, and just screw the cover on afterwards? No need for other modifications?
+Henrik Aarli (PocketMan) Yes, you can do it that way. But there are some covers on the market that you can screw on the place where the oil pump used to be. That will be the best way in my opinion.

how do you fill the cooler system
If you're dealing with the old engine type, I did this and worked perfectly:
First, connect al the hoses except for the one that goes from the radiator to your cylinder. You have to connect it to the cylinder but not to the radiator. Pour cooling liquid into the hose till it drips from the hole where the hose is supposed to be attached. Then connect the hose back en fill up the expansion tank! If thats on the "max" level, start the engine but keep off the lid from the expansion tank. While it's running, pinch the hoses a bit. That's it!

If you open the radiator cap and let it run, then it should air out

Hoe leeg ik het koelsysteem voordat ik de cillinder er af haal en hoe vul ik het later weer?
heel simpel eigenlijk, gewoon je waterpompcover eraf schroeven, rechterkant van het blok waar een slang ingaat onder, en alles loopt eruit, wachten tot alles eruit is, en dan als je alles gedaan hebt, je cover er weer op maar niet helemaal vast draaien, in je tankje linksvoor koelvloeistof gieten, en als er onderin wat uit loopt moet je het dicht draaien en opvullen. ff je brommer naar rechts tillen, en vullen tot max als ie weer leeg komt. ff motor aantrappen zodat de waterpomp alles rondpompt en de eerst komende tijd ff opletten op je koelvloeistofpijl en bijveullen als er weinig in zit.

ChickenNerd - Gaming yes, because otherwise if you don't do it and take the cylinder off - cooling fluid will just fill your engine, and at this point, you are fucked, the same happens when something falls in, because just to take it out, you will need to strip a half of the engine

Brecht Van De Walle het principe van een Derbi en AM6 blok is hetzelfde. Ik weet niet welke van de twee blokken jij hebt maar deze tutorial is voor een Derbi blok.

I have a derbi senda xrace 2010 and i cant cut off the fuel. what should i do instead?
You can use a bolt and screw that in the end of your fuel hose. Or you can flip the fuel hose so it's cut off and hold that together with a tie-rip. I hope this will help you.

The fuel doesn't need to be cut. It cuts autometicually and comes back on when you start the engine.

In Holland they call it ''squish'', it's not necessary to look at it. The best is to replace the crankshaft for a race crankshaft. Just to prevent troubles. If you don't have a really high mileage on your bike you can do it but it's always better save than sorry. The speed depends on your gear ratio and how big your carburator is. But it will be around 100+.

Than i should not change the crankshaft. But before you change the cylinder i would drive at least 500 km with the original set-up.

Good question! My advice is to take a NGK br10es.

I cant loosen this nut, it sits so tight on my top end i am afraid to ruin this tiny cable on top of it. How do you loosen it så easily?
Temperature sensor, it cant be stuck because it are two different kind of materials.

great video. I have the same bike and am having trouble with the cooling system, I've changed the thermostat, temperature sensor, both to new genuine parts, I've checked for blockages in the cylinder and there is none, the pump is definitely working as if i remove the temperature sensor and run the bike it pumps coolant out, if i go out on the bike for 2 minutes maximum, the cylinder, cylinder head, exhaust, radiator and all hoses are all extremely hot! hot enough the sizzle coolant. My overheating light on my dash board is also on. As everything is hot therefore my coolant must be circulating. It would be much appreacated if someone would help me out with this please.

+Simsonnnnn I have just took my thermostat out and rebuilt the cylinder then took it for a very short run and it is still the exact same :( I've tried everything and don't even know how this is possible

Its not necessary to remove the tank
It is otheriwse you cant open the zylinder without trouble and the tank removing takes 5 Minutes
