It was by accident that I heard Power of Love, know the song, one of my favorites, never heard of her, this beautiful lady was Awesome, that voice, my God can she sing, love the way she moves, one sexy lady, have listened to a LOT of her songs, unbelievable!! What a Power House Voice!! Am her #1 fan now, NO ONE could ever come close to her God Given Voice, saw her being interviewed, Love her, everything about her, wish I had heard about her years ago, unable to stop listening to her songs, classy lady in every way!! WOW!!

@@donbaxley5530 anyone with an ounce of brains can tell this it not lip synced, especially of the original. A completely different tempo, different notes, different cadences on some phrases, different rhythms in the verses and chorus and different ways some words were sung.
She's superior to any that tries to duplicate her. She owns it.
She does have "The Power of Love" her version was so incredible.

I “missed” Jennifer in her prime-in fact, I only discovered her 2 months ago. I am a big fan of Celine and only discovered Jennifer because I came across Celine’s cover of POL including Jennifer. I couldn’t believe my ears.
I’m 84 and have heard them all, from Ginger Rogers to Edith Piaf to Vera Lynn. Then Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Barbara Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Tammy Wynette, and Bonnie Tyler. Add Gloria Gaynor, Connie Francis, Laura Branigan, Linda Ronstadt, Rita Coolidge, Celine, Mariah, and Whitney and you have the lineup of the greats right up to Adele and Susan Boyle.
But, Jennifer Rush has the all-around best female voice I have ever heard. Her operatic training adds an unmatched vibrato containing depth and texture. And she sings everything: opera, pop, rock, and ballads in English, Spanish, German, and Hungarian.
She also studied piano and violin at Juilliard. She has written or co-written the lyrics and music for many of her songs, done duets with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, Elton John and Brian May-sorry-Sir Brian May, Michael Bolton, and performed live all over the world-but not in America, except in March and April 1986 on the Carson show and the Dick Clark Show; that’s it.

Jennifer singing this song still sends shivers down my spine ever since 1985 when it came out. She has such a distinctive voice too. People rate her against Celine Dion, who is also a great singer live, and complain about her version. Both are in a league of their own as far as singing goes. 'The power of love' has been copied so many times by other singers good as they are, but to me Jennifer is the one and only original. It's the same as any other cover version by another singer, as the original is usually the best. However, Jennifer has not aged well, from what I have seen on TV interviews, but she was a real beauty back then.......still love her though....:)
In my being she will forever be the same beautiful heavenly Jennifer regardless of her age. It's her lovely soul n grace that will last a long time n for generations to come.

I am still addicted to watching her videos singing 'The Power of Love', and quite a few others, and never get tired of them. If I want cheering up, then 'The Power of Love' does the trick.....:)
But it's her voice that I love, so not too worried about the exterior of her face these days...

I fell in love with her at 23 in 1984. I was at that age and she hit me in every right spot. Still one of my favourite songs. I doubt she has aged a day even now 36 years later.

I can't believe how many others have covered this song. They try so hard to outdo Jennifer but they can't, because Jennifer's voice is purely beautiful and meant for her voice.

Celine did with outstanding vocals, true. but her version included motorcycle crescendo sound (listen and you will know what I mean) that is not acceptable for this song.

Celine Dion who? Jennifer is the Queen and no one can ever take away the crown from her. She wrote it, she owns it. She knows where and when to apply passion and emotion to the song. Beautiful woman, beautiful heart. I was at the beginning of my teenage years in the 80s when this song came out plus other awesome songs from so many other legends. This contributed immensely to my musical taste permanently rooted in the 80s and I can't get out of it.
