This is why you don't do meetups at ADs. You might just come home with a really good watch.

One of the few tastefully done green watches that isn’t too “loud”. Very nice

Agreed on the accuracy of the powermatic 80. I got one of these two weeks ago and have not touched the crown since then, it’s only off by 4 seconds. Absolutely amazing

The green dial looks great almost black in some angles. I have the blue sunray dial in quartz highly recommended.

It may be partly the camera/lighting, but the dial looks alot darker than in the renders, which means the polished hands mostly disappear at certain angles. Looking black in darker conditions, as you say Rob, is a shame IMO, they should have made it a lighter shade of green to make it pop.
Also the effective lug-to-lug of 52mm is too long for a 40mm watch, especially for a watch that sits so flat on the wrist and for those with smaller wrists - a shortcoming of the integrated bracelet design they've used.
I guess a smaller version will come along at some point to widen its appeal.
Overall a nice reissue design that could have been improved quite easily with a few tweeks.

Rob, can you measure length of your wrist? I mean like length from top to bottom of your wrist (I hope you know what I mean). It can help with better idea of watch presence on viewers wrists.

Powermatic movements better be accurate from the factory, because I've heard they cannot be regulated manually by a watchmaker.

I need some quick advice… I recently purchased this exact same PRX Powermatic 80 (blue dial). This morning, I picked the watch up out of my watch box and wound it 30 times. However, I forgot to check if it was still running on its 80 hour power reserve cycle. To my surprise, it was indeed still running and on the current date and time. Will my winding it 30 times damage the watch? Please advise thank you. 🙏🏻

The Tissot PRX is really nice.
But there are two things, that should guide you away from the auto, and opt for the better Quartz.
    First.
The watch will never get old. It's not something that will go down generations.
The movement is non-servicable, ie. if anything is wrong, you need a new movement, you cant even service it with oil.
    And break it will.
The movement in this watch, the Powermatic 80.111 (ETA C07.811), is the lowest possible of the Powermatic 80 series, since it holds plastic parts in the movement.
I go with the quartz, as this is a better watch.

Shame about the jerky lowbeat movement. The homages are highbeat and lower priced.

    • @gerard8174
      @gerard8174 ปีที่แล้ว

I don’t see why this would be jerky. I’m having mine for about five months now and am wearing it so often that it didn’t stand still for a day since then. It’s running at minus 1 second a day consistently, it’s the most accurate automatic I’ve ever owned. I compared the sweep of the second hand with a 28.800 beats movement I own and to be honest, to me the difference is largely lost. Prefer the three days power reserve instead at any time, especially combined with this freakingly high accuracy. From what I read they usually run between +/- 5 seconds a day or so, what’s to complain?
