Not clarity....but trust. Your life is not your own...you are claimed and called by God Himself. God will meet us whereever we are in our circumstances.
I was stuck in a snow bank yesterday, no idea how to get free. A young man who didn't speak my language stopped and got me out.
God will meet us wherever we are in our circumstances.

I want to give up, but God won’t let me he has brought me this far. So I won’t quit. As a single mom I’m struggling to make ends meet. Both of my sons are autistic and require much from me. I want to give up. But I know that you Lord Jesus is always here for me. Jesus renew my faith. There are so many different obstacles that I face, and one of the biggest burdens is that I don’t have anyone to turn to for help. So Lord Jesus I turn to you as I struggle to buy groceries, and as I struggle to pay the rent every month. Heavenly Father you are my provider.❤

Great examples. Helps put things in perspective. Should be required viewing for students at Catholic colleges and/or Newman centers to help with decision making. Wish I had had access to this kind of knowledge back in the day. Changed my major so many times. Fr’s. message still helpful across all age spectrums though. TY!

Wonderful message, thank you! I love the door theory way of deciding things. Good door, check. Open door, check. Wise door, problem. Decisions I make feel right at the time, but too often get busted, and turned out to be unwise. Others, ok. I need to learn to hear God's voice and plan better I guess.

The Roman Catholic church used Muslims to exterminate jews before the crusades started. Its all history. They used Muslims to capture Jerusalem for the papacy. Then the Muslims turned on the Catholics and then crusades started. Catholicism did everything they could to confuse, eliminate and destroy true followers of God

Amen. We pray for the really good; who are mentally ill, those who ill-treat and persecute, the jobless, the orphans and the little children, the sick, , us, the whole world, those in most need of Thy mercy, departed souls, and the pregnant & unborn children. Mike- I am an anesthesia nurse. And what you are describing to people is a decision pathway.
As a nurse, this set of steps helped me greatly. In life.
    1) Define the problem
2)Gather as much data as possible
    3)Form a plan
    4)Implement the plan
5)Evaluate if the plan was successful to problem
If not - then repeat. You might have to define the problem slightly differently or plan a different strategy for success.
All good stuff- keep up the good work.

Thank you for this Homily, Fr. Mike. You mentioned many things I could have benefited from knowing and understanding when I was younger, but I’m glad to have heard it now as I’ve often regretted my so called ‘missed vocation’. But what you’ve said today encourages me to trust that God can still do something meaningful with my life. Thank you for the work that you do, and for having trusted your life to God. Many of us are benefiting from the fruits of His work through you. God bless.

Father Mike mentions comedian Shayne Smith’s conversation with Pints with Aquinas. I really enjoyed this conversation. This is an example of why I listen to Father Mike’s mass/homily after I go to mass on Sunday. It always inspires me in some way. 🙏 Bonus I feel better about my son and daughter’s tattoos. It’s a reminder to not judge people by their cover or by their education. Shayne is surprisingly well read.

This opens up a can of questions Fr. Mike. I was doing really well understanding the homily, thinking - oh, Good this is exactly what’s been on my mind - till you got to the point 2-that there is no plan-so of course I thought of Jeremiah and God saying I know the plans I have for you, etc. But I’d like to know what is the plan for me- that’s the clarity I want I think. Then I think if I’m doing God‘s will why isn’t there more happiness or joy or sense of satisfaction or awareness of love going out for me or coming to me for doing what’s right? Then I think Jesus did everything right and he ended up crucified. Mary did what’s right and she was pretty sad I would imagine as things unfolded for Jesus, but she had that trust. As I said, you opened up a can of questions.

And I believe that’s the point. All I know is that I don’t know. But one day I will know.
I think that’s what faith is. Believing and knowing certain things but not knowing everything. But once we start to see things that have happened in our past or are happening now, then we can see and understand God’s plan for us.

Blind trust, then, and the threat of eternal torment if you can't manage to trust someone that you cannot see, hear, or touch, and whom you only know of by the witness and testimony of others long dead. Somehow, that's supposed to be a reasonable way to live. Neutral choices? We're commanded to be perfect. Make an imperfect choice and you've failed Him.
