pleasantly surprised to find metal covers that manage to keep the emotional content of the originals. Too often metal covers are just the main theme played generically with a generic backdrop of distorted rhythm guitar. But in this case I would say that my impression is that this is an improvement in terms of quality. The drums are great and varied, it preserves the polyphony and dynamics in a great way, and I really like the use of various types of distortion to create different timbres for different guitar tracks.
In short, groovy shit.

I doubt that was intentional, but it did turn out to work.
@@slipknotmfkrlocust8843 It was absolutely intentional, Alphys' research notes essentially say as much. Another one is when you take lethal damage in the fight with Asriel, your heart/soul breaks as usual, but then comes back together with the message "But it refused" and the battle continues, which could either be taken as the player refusing to lose or the soul literally fusing back together. Toby put a lot of thought into the wording used in Undertale.

Ehm. If you are taking suggestions for music pieces.. May i suggest the final boss theme from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. (SNES) I have yet to encounter a good version of the piece.
