This is one of my favourite poems about daffodils. When I saw your daffodil patches, it reminded me so much of this poem: “Daffodowndilly” She wore her yellow sun-bonnet, She wore her greenest gown; She turned to the south wind And curtsied up and down. She turned to the sunlight And shook her yellow head, And whispered to her neighbor: “Winter is dead.” -A.A. Milne, When We Were Very Young
My favorite poem about Daffodils is 'I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud' by William Wordsworth. (and then my heart with pleasure fills, and dances with the daffodils). I love it, hope you will too!
I cried watching you Keeping It Dutch family...this video popped up in my feed and I had been watching the people pulling babies (alive mostly) from the earthquake damage in Turkiye ( believe it was spelled this way) The first responders were kissing those babies before passing them on to the next rescuer. I cried because finding all those neat vehicles was so amazing and you all look so happy and healthy....please let's all pray for those who are missing their families and loved ones tonight. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us....
be careful those holes could be sink holes or a caves underground, a farmer in Indiana had A lake disappear on his land and found out it was a cave underground. so be careful letting your girls walk up to them makes me nervous seeing them holes.
Watch out for old water wells they can be dangerous, I really enjoy your property finds it is so amazing the caves and the water springs the creek it so Beautiful, we lived in Oklahoma a long time ago and I loved it, watching from Texas now, I hope God Blesses you and your Family! And Thank you for sharing it with all of us.
! A pilated woodpecker will scratch down a tree. It removes bark first. The pilated will dig big holes in a tree and they usually aren't round. Google a Pilated woodpecker. They almost look pretty historic with a bright red head. They are a big woodpecker. That what Brandi grabbed is a vine. They grow up trees and suffocate trees, that's why there are so many dead trees on land.
Pileated woodpeckers are huge!!!! At least 12-15 inches tall on females, the males are even bigger! When they find a delicious tree, it will look very much like the one in your previous video!
Visit your county historical society. They may have old records of your property! I spent a whole day going through microfiche back in the 1980’s and found so much information about our farm. When we restored the farmhouse we had to tear down the back side. Under the plaster we found a log cabin! They had plastered over it and added on a two story front section.
Loved exploring with Y'all. Would be nice to get those two trucks restored. The water has went down a lot since you and Gabby were out there. Can't wait to see what Y'all have done to the house. GOD BLESS Y'ALL.
You have a beautiful family. God bless you. I would love to be able to explore life that again, old age and bad bones won't let me. I love watching you guys enjoy it.
a lot of old homesteads had dump sights. On our ranch there were 3 homesteads and dump sites in a lot of the low spots. I used to explore them and found many treasures like old bottles
Dutch, I think I figured out what that car on its top is. I love going down rabbit holes and I did for this one. The emblem on the front of the car is rather specific. And after comparing your video with many photographs, I believe what you have there is a 1941 Dodge D19 Luxury Liner Coupe. Very cool car!!
Hey Dutch, some car guy would want the front grill of that truck for his mancave. Good find and I bet you will find some gems when you guys are out exploring. Good Luck.. from Lighthouse Cove Ontario, Canada.
I remember my grandpa driving a truck that looks like that one and it was green . And he drove that truck till around 1972 . When I visited him and grandma I loved to explore on their land and homeplace. I'm 68 now so looking at old and antiques of my younger years is good. Love ur videos.
That "thing" in the middle of the cowl is the vent for fresh air inside. There is a handle in the middle and push it down and it opens the vent and pull it back up and it closes. That was the a c of the day.
We found an old vehicle on our property. I used the door handle on our life for the garbage bin. My dogs have been bringing ticks in all winter and I'm not far from you! Take all the metal to the scrap yard for money! That one truck is awesome. I'd love to see it restored.
I don’t think it was Brandi that got Hayden scared Dutch 😂. The hole where Gabby went in is a great place to put a pond if you want, would fill itself up quickly. The old car emblem looks like a Cadillac. The big frame looks to me like it’s remnants of an old RV or bus. And that old Dodge body is worth some money for sure! Thanks for taking us with you 😊

Take the truck home and make a cool little chicken coop out of it . The cab and bed can be coop, store feed under the hood or use that as a chick brooder . I love looking at old stuff like that. You have a great property.
I have been enjoying your explorations of your new property. It is so beautiful and seems to hold a lot of history. The old trucks and cars were apart of people's lives. Sean, Your grandmother telling you stories about your land is amazing. Have fun exploring. 😍
From the little I saw and with no real knowledge I would guess De Soto. License plates changed every year before the last 40 or so in Illinois. Convicts made them.
Those trucks would be nice things to add interest to your yard or at the gate ! I've seen gardens planted in and around old truck frames. Up here when I was young, we use to get new plates every year.
Shawn this video is great. I love all your videos. I wish you would make videos a lit bit longer. It seems like a lot of TH-camrs just make their videos like 15 to 20 minutes which is long enough to do one as. So please think about doing a longer one. Be safe have a great Week and God Bless.
Hey there, this is probably something that you didn't think about but it's probably not a good idea to announce that your daughter is home alone. Just saying man, be careful with that. I don't believe so. I'm in my 70's and know the difference. A crocus is much shorter and only has about 5 petals of the same length. No 'skirt' like a daffodil has. I have them both.
its a daffodil it has a center peddle. i'm sure crocus grow similar but usually bloom a little later. wild daffodils are shorter and smaller than cultivated ones grown in garden, and all yellow in color but can have white peddles with yellow center peddle.
While you were looking at the old cars there were rectangular pecker holes right behind you. Classic shape for pileated wood peckers which are not your average pecker, they are huge, and when they find an infested dead tree they will tear it up just like what you found. Just as valid that it could have been a bear but they usually push the tree right over and tear the stump apart to get all the grubs before moving on. Can't wait to find out. This property is a gem. That frame could be a trailer of some kind, or a truck flat bed of some kind. The daffodil bulbs can be replanted
That's what I was going to say. It looks like the bed of a large flat bed truck. My uncle had one in the 50's.
