After whatching your videos I change my acquarium eheh A month ago I received my ScaperLine 90, I set it up Iwagumi style... This is my setup: -Oase ScaperLine90. -Biomaster² 600 filter (4l Matrix and Purigen inside). -Co2 AQPET. -CEAB light (WRGB Pro). -ARKA myAQUA 1900 Osmosis system. Hardcape: -10 Kg dragon stone. -21 Kg Oase ScaperSoil. Drystart method with 20 cups of eleocharis mini. As for the remineralization of the osmotic water I decided to use ShrimpMineral GH/KH+. For fertilization 2HR AQUARIST APT 1 the first months to switch to APT 3 later... Ty again for all your videos 💪👍
Thank you for tuning in, I’m glad I’ve been able to help you 🙏🏻. That sounds like an awesome set up! I really want to give the dry start method a shot at some point. Was it hard?
@@AquascapeOdysseyConsider that I started on November 21st, and I still haven't filled the aquarium with water... the carpet is almost full... I wanted to try putting moss on the rocks, and I must say that it worked great... I mixed a cup Taxiphyllum 'Flame Moss' and a spoonful of ScaperSoil with the kitchen blender then I spread it all over the rocks, now I have all the rocks covered with moss... I left a portion behind the rocks where I intend to put the Topica 1●2●Grow plants... I took 10 cups of Rotala rotundifoglia blood red, 5 Fryptocoryne Flamingo and 3 Alternanthera Reineckii "Mini"... I use only osmosis water for the Drystart, absolutely do not use tap water...
I definitely need to give this dark start a try then!! Thanks for the recommendation! 100% I moved away from tap water it’s made the whole process so much smoother.
Thank you for the kind words! I definitely want to try the S series and was going too but couldn’t find one in stock. Also when you have one Chihiros you gotta just keep the ball rolling since the app is so awesome.
Nice! My most successful tank that I had to trim constantly was 75 with a bank of tri-phosphor T-12's! I had a lotus that even started to send a flower spike up before I had another bulb go out. Since then I have not had the same success with CFL's or LED's. I'm almost tempted to go back to T-8's?
@AquascapeOdyssey Current USA? 2 36" on a 40 breeder? It is crazy getting different size tanks to do well! It is really nice to see your tanks. I have always moved things around and sometimes create problems!. Just for the record, have you ever had spike tail MTS's? I live in Texas, and I thought calcium would not be a problem. I have learned that I HAVE to stay up on water changes. Even the ramshorn suffer when I'm not punctual. What is the brand of LED you use?
I have not heard of spike tails. I live in Arizona, Phx. And the water is terrible I struggled when I first started maintaining consistency with water parameters when doing water changes. The issue comes from changes in the way the city processes water. To stay consistent I decided to do RODI and just remineralize. I’ve had way better success since that change.
I believe lights should be on risers. But when you have a rimmed tank it’s harder to raise them. I LOVE the Pinocchio shrimp! I need to find them in my area! Love your content! ❤
Thank you for the kinda words! 🫶. They are by far my most favorite shrimp to watch from a personality perspective. Yea rimmed tanks are a little harder to work with for lighting.
Hi! I have a twinstar 45cm, 20w light, if I keep it at more than 50% brightness I have algae problems, under 50 it's not bright enough... Running 6h + CO2... Any recommendations regarding on how to prevent algae with a bright light?
Do you not do red swords because they get too large? Your tanks look amazing! To the point that I almost hate you (kidding! Jealousy..). No way you’re a noob! I’ve done ok here and there with plants… killed more than I’d like to admit, even to myself, but the weirdest thing for me is that I seem to have the hardest time with the “easy” plants. I tend to do better with “intermediate” species, as long as co2 is only recommended and not required. Although, the wife and I (on her YT account) are really wanting to make the jump into co2 after finally getting my dumpster tank set up and filled… Found a 75 gallon acrylic in a dumpster a few years back, a new/ open box tank stand for a 75/90 gallon tank a few weeks later in a different dumpster… scooped enough gravel for two 75s up off the ground when a LFS sadly went under last year, found a Fluval E-300 heater and a Fluval 407 filter at other times… We did “buy” a Fluval Plant 3.0 recently with Christmas money for $50, and man, do I LOVE having a REAL light!!! It beats the seven or so different leds, cfls and one 18” t8 I had all plugged into a two outlet timer with extension cords 🙄Basically, I paid for plants, and a second heater for peace of mind. The deal was that we’d sacrifice the funds to plant it out if I got it set up for as free as humanly possible. Unfortunately we don’t have much income and she didn’t realize that C o2 meant ferts are a must, even with a dirted tank. Although… she does like the idea of being able to keep just about any plant possible, like Ludwigia ‘white’, Rotala ‘orange juice’ and Buce. She loves Buce!! Expensive little f****. They are beautiful little f**** though, aren’t they?
Ordering my first tank on Friday, I can't tell you how exited I am.
Let’s go Luke!!! Welcome to the Aquascaping Odyssey, what type of tank did you order?
@@AquascapeOdyssey I've got an 80L tall. Once I design and cycle the water I plan to get 7-8 male Guppies with Cardinal Tetras and a small Pleco.
@luke9509 that will be perfect amount of life. Keep me posted on how it turns out. And if you have any questions. Always here to help.

This inspired me to actually consider red plants, might try out CO2 as well! Great video!
Thank you for the kind words. You should they aren’t as complicated as I thought.
This helped a ton. Love your content! 🦐

I found the Cryptocoryne SP. Flamingo from DENNERLE...they are my favorites, I would say they are the centerpiece of my aquascape...
I haven’t been able to get my crypt flamingos to grow. I think it might be from the dense sand.

Love this video, and without a doubt, the Chihiros or the Twinstar S series do make a difference.

That’s rough. But hopefully you get back into it with some better LED’s.

Do u use C02 in all of them?
In my two 20 gallon tanks yes but not in my other tanks. I have 7 in total.

I have a couple questions, how many plants do you have and what type? How long has the tank been running? What type of algae?
Love Mystery snails, but the unroot the plants too, so annoying
