In the sim, you can get the wind by just clicking the wind section in the 2nd page of the takeoff section. To display the CG on the weight and balance window, expand the window horizontally until you see the CG section. You only need to do this once, and will be remembered.
Capitán, Great video! Thanks. If you want to know the CG you have to resize the fuel window (bigger) and you will be able to see the missing part of the window and balance the weight of the plane and have an accurate CG. Again, thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Take care.
I remember flying in a Dreamliner, Nairobi to the Emirates, plus I had a whole isle to myself and very attentive cabin crew! One of my best flights ever, not forgetting how comfortable and silent it is and the windows that darken!
Lovely insight thank you. I've flown the 787 so many times in the sim and it's one I love but have never made use of the EFB and the full length runway. Just have now and it adds a lot so will be doing it this way from now on for sure!!
This is such a great tutorial - a shortcut to enjoying this 787 sim but also a lot of insights into the real thing. My takeoff is much less alarming - I just need to stay in the air now until you get to the landing tutorial 😂
Thanks a lot. With the help of your tutorials and also other tutorials I can now fly the 787 to my destination. Sadly I can't find any tutorials on Go-Arounds, that could be a Video Idea for you and it would make me happy :)
Thank you 320simpilot for another great video. Your videos are always my go-to when learning the 787. Appreciate your time that it takes to create these wonderful tutorial videos. I’m learning the 787-9 within my virtual pilot career on SimBitWorld A pilots Life 2; flying for Korean Air. Thank you again sir.
Twas the night before Christmas, and out on the ramp, Not an airplane was stirring, not even a Champ. The aircraft were fastened to tiedowns with care, In hopes that come morning, they all would be there. The fuel trucks were nestled, all snug in their spots, With gusts from two-forty at 39 knots. I slumped at the fuel desk, now finally caught up, And settled down comfortably, resting my butt. When the radio lit up with noise and with chatter, I turned up the scanner to see what was the matter. A voice clearly heard over static and snow, Called for clearance to land at the airport below. He barked his transmission so lively and quick, I’d have sworn that the call sign he used was “St. Nick”. I ran to the panel to turn up the lights, The better to welcome this magical flight. He called his position, no room for denial, “St. Nicholas One, turnin’ left onto final.” And what to my wondering eyes should appear, But a Rutan-built sleigh, with eight Rotax Reindeer! With vectors to final, down the glideslope he came, As he passed all fixes, he called them by name: “Now Ringo! Now Tolga! Now Trini and Bacun! On Comet! On Cupid!” What pills was he takin’? While controllers were sittin’, and scratchin’ their head, They phoned to my office, and I heard it with dread, The message they left was both urgent and dour: “When Santa pulls in, have him please call the tower.” He landed like silk, with the sled runners sparking, Then I heard “Left at Charlie,” and “Taxi to parking.” He slowed to a taxi, turned off of three-oh And stopped on the ramp with a “Ho, ho-ho-ho…” He stepped out of the sleigh, but before he could talk, I ran out to meet him with my best set of chocks. His red helmet and goggles were covered with frost And his beard was all blackened from Reindeer exhaust. His breath smelled like peppermint, gone slightly stale, And he puffed on a pipe, but he didn’t inhale. His cheeks were all rosy and jiggled like jelly, His boots were as black as a cropduster’s belly. He was chubby and plump, in his suit of bright red, And he asked me to “fill it, with hundred low-lead.” He came dashing in from the snow-covered pump, I knew he was anxious for drainin’ the sump. I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work, And I filled up the sleigh, but I spilled like a jerk. He came out of the restroom, and sighed in relief, Then he picked up a phone for a Flight Service brief. And I thought as he silently scribed in his log, These reindeer could land in an eighth-mile fog. He completed his pre-flight, from the front to the rear, Then he put on his headset, and I heard him yell, “Clear!” And laying a finger on his push-to-talk, He called up the tower for clearance and squawk. “Take taxiway Charlie, the southbound direction, Turn right three-two-zero at pilot’s discretion” He sped down the runway, the best of the best, “Your traffic’s a Grumman, inbound from the west.” Then I heard him proclaim, as he climbed through the night, “Merry Christmas to all! I have traffic in sight.”
Just press the CG button in the Take off page in the mcdu and you will get the CG there auto same with the wind press it then you will see in the EFB the wind auto
Congratulations 🎉👏 on transfering to the 787. TH-cam wise you are the second long haul pilot on TH-cam that I have seen. Just 1 question, if you had 4 gold bars on the Airbus, do you keep your 4 gold bars or do you go down a bar until you gain experience on the 787? I'm looking forward to your first long haul/ ultra long hall stream on the 787. Clear Blue skies and safe landings always. Matt 😊
Great video but one question...When would I usually do all that stuff because of course I don't wait next to the runway for that long, so I'd go through all these procedures at the gate right..? Also, after which checklist should the boarding begin and when should I do the walkaround?
This is a recent video. Is this moddeling the 787-10 Default from FL2020 or from Horizon Simulations like 787-9? Try to learn the way to fly from Airbus to Boeing.
Great tutorial, once you informed us you were moving to the 787, more outlay, for the yoke and throttles but going to be worth every penny. Keep up the great work you do for us 😊
I've seen more and more 787 pilots in videos use iPads/tablets because apparently the built in EFB is really slow and outdated due to having components from the 90's and you can't easily upgrade it compared to getting the latest tablet. And because a tablet isn't a part of the aircraft it doesn't have to be as fully certified as the built in EFB does
Thanks for the video! What should I map my controls to for the TOGA button on the throttle? I'm trying to manually set T/O power and it's not working very well haha
Hi, I've been trying to flight this plane in MSFS, but I suffered a heavily increasing pitch-up right after off the ground, and I have to push the trim (trim-spedd) full down and the yoke too. Accordingly to the developers everything is all right and that how's the plane behaves and I should add MORE TRIM (I have done that). All on all, I would like to know if you suffer this in the simulator or if I am doing something wrong during the takeoff off (all is manually done NO TOGA button is pressed) and the FMC is configure as explained. THANKS!!!
Thank you for this incredibly detailed video, again! If you do a take-off with D-2, using up a significant bit of the runway, does it mean that if you reject just before V1 you would still be able to come to a full stop on that remaining bit of runway? Are the brakes significantly stronger (having to stop a heavy machine at higher speeds)? Also, are you more limited for departures with obstacles/terrain in the vicinity of the end of the runway in case of 1 engine out climb performance, or would you just derate less in that case?
Hi, I can never get the TPR to behave properly. As soon as I engage A/P the green TPR reference point disappears and it starts using 100% of the engine or about 96-98. I can’t throttle back either because if I use TOGA then my throttle lever on the side stick is already sitting at the 20% mark from the rolling start before I click the TOGA button. I’m using the throttle lever on the Airbus TCA side stick as I haven’t bought the separate throttle quadrant. I’m just not sure what’s happening with the derating after takeoff, it’s very frustrating
Thanks for the brilliant video, and teaching us to fly this beautiful plane! A quick tip, you can check CG if you make the weight window bigger in MSFS.
I'm curious - how different is the workload during takeoff compared to a 320? (Before all the automation kicks in I guess) Thanks for a very interesting video - looking forward to learning more about the Dreamliner!
For you to see the cg you have to go to index, settings and go to weight and ballance. There you can checout your cg, passangers fuel and more.
Awesome video. The HUD brightness does work - just click it in the middle first to put in manual control then you can dim by turning it.
In the sim, you can get the wind by just clicking the wind section in the 2nd page of the takeoff section. To display the CG on the weight and balance window, expand the window horizontally until you see the CG section. You only need to do this once, and will be remembered.
Just a tip for the CG, if you on the takeoff page on the CDU click on the digital button next to the CG field, it will fill it in for you :)
Hey this guy fly this plane irl, i think he knows
I think seeing he is a real airliner pilot he knows exactly what he is doing!
its only in th the sim it works like that lol@@kiwinesss
@@FlopsAviator1 And I think he knows that too lol
@@kiwinesssNo, he didn't. Haven't you watched the video?
30:24 The lever was in the up position. The landing gear retracted immediately after leaving the ground. (;
Most likely just a bug with the replay system in msfs.
@@peepoEvil 2:14 Not a bug. The lever was up from the beginning. (;

someone didnt do their checklist ;)

He is right. (: 10:06 You need to make the window wider and the CG will appear on the right. (:
… amazing … we are so fortunate have you, a real 787 pilot and sim enthusiast, to show us how to fly this beauty … thank you
Really enjoying and using these 787 videos to learn and improve my 787 experience. Thank you!!
I love the 787 Cockpit
New time saving procedure: Always have gear handle in the up position before starting the take off roll!! (29:20 ish)
Another way of finding your CG is go into settings on the FMC, and its in page 2 where you load the simbrief weights from

A great video. It's been awesome to learn about the 787. The more I learn about the plane the more I am impressed by it

I guess the roll spoilers would deploy during TO roll with that roll input. Would that impact on the acceleration?
Do most buttons work?

A great tutorial, but the procedural complexity and tight end of runway margins concern me. I can't wait to compare with an A350.
My pal who's BA 787 Capt reckons that there will be a huge pile up on the M25 if they have an EF on take off on RW 27 LHR! 🥴😂

how do i find the arm of the 787 in msfs

should have renamed the channel to “787 Sim Pilot” 😊

hey 320 sim just a question when you say it's not for real world use is it because it's a lot different in real life or what is the reason 🙏🏻
